  1. Thanks @smofi, this is not only about military tier gear, but all gear, in general, the deal with military weapon parts is just a way of explaining the ropes on how the execution of the idea itself should go.

I believe you got the concept, and I can only agree with you that having a rare chance to find parts to build an SVD or the SVD itself on a really low condition in the apartment buildings after this "re-work pass on loot" would create a reason to go into them and check stuff there making them a worthy place to stop in your loot routes.

After all it shouldn't be about concentrating loot in a specific buildings or areas, but more something a long the lines of a surprising reward to the player that is actively seeking every corner of this raved world to find what they want.

  2. Hi, I'll be brief over what I think would be the best way to open up more zones to human interactions, straying it away from the routes to Military areas, while also making Military areas even more rewarding then they actually are now and coastal towns a more interesting place to be in the beginning since most experienced players will run right away from these places when they spawn in-game, without further a do.

Loot Zones as they are now should be changed, that said, loot should spawn anywhere and be controlled through quality and rarity, not only quantity and type. This doesn't mean, "M4 kids running around Elektro all day.", quite the contrary, check my line of thought on this one:

You guys like how you have to go thoroughly an entire town to find burlap sacks and netting to create a Ghillie Suit? And how it has tiers for how much effort you put into it? If you do like this:

Imagine if you could find pieces, parts of an M4 anywhere in Chenarus, with quality and chances dependent on the zone you are at.

    Green Coastal Zones (Super rare 1.0% chance → Badly Damaged ↔ Worn) parts;

    Red Zones up north (Rare 2.5% chance → Badly Damaged ↔ Pristine) parts;

And also a Hyper Rare 0.01% chance of finding the full thing but always Badly Damaged ↔ Damaged lost at some random lone house in a mountain at some weird place for example.

With this, people would have one more reason to search all the houses and places in this game even when they have gear, as people searching for burlap sacks do right now, they go everywhere in the game to build their Ghillie, this change would strongly reward the exploration of the world.

Having a chance to come across anything while you loot, highly increases the excitement and will to scavenge all and any town you come across.

I used the M4 as an example because it has loads of attachments, and as the devs said in the past Status Reports, weapons could in the future have more parts, so this system would be neat, also this rarity/quality control could apply to food and other items, canned food should have higher nutritional values and be really rare, hunting big game animals should have at least 5x the nutrition it has now (so it is worthier than the canned food, even after the little buff they did, it still not rewarding enough.), whenever they fix apples, and they will soon, hunting chickens, little animals should be the go, to survive in the beginning, and canned stuff should be a valuable asset to have with you (3x more nutrition, or something alike), thus, rare.

Thanks for reading, please comment what you think would better balance interactions across all of the map.

  3. Sound feels really good at night time loot areas now on experimental branch, those unstopping crickets were busting my ears, they are way more "ambient" now, pretty good, I just think that the wind was a little too quieter than on today's stable branch, wind was loud some times due to pick up, but pleasant overall since it wasn't constantly loud all the time there, now at experimental, I can barely hear it, but of course, it still there.

Night time is becoming more and more immersive now, thanks devs.

  4. Ejecting a case from the chamber takes a lot more time. A mag is released at the press of a button or simply when pulling the mag out, while ejecting a case requires you to do it manually. Reloading a single bullet requires you to put it into the relatively small chamber, push it into the barrel and cocking the gun. Reloading a mag is just putting it into the gun. Not only is chambering a gun way slower, you can't do it blindly, like with a mag. You HAVE to look at the gun to succesfully chamber it.

Keep it like it is now

Even so... Didn't you would need to "grab" the mag to "put it into your inventory", or in the case of pressing the button the mag wont just "fall" resulting on a empty magazine at the floor? In a way or another you would need to look at your gun.

Remember: DayZ's character is probably a civilian, you don't have any military training so you can, without taking time to look at your gun reload it with the mag.

  5. In reality you would need to check your pockets/bags before reloading so it makes sense to use the inventory system to do so when dealing with loose ammo.

In reality you would need to "check your pockets" even if you had fully loaded magazines to your guns. There is no "Press R to Reload" when you have magazine to your weapon in real life. Do you remember Tuco, on Breaking Bad series? He died because he panicked to fill his M4 with the magazine he had.

I believe if you have ammo or magazines in a readily accessible place (ie, in the front pocket of an assault vest), you should be able to press R.

Players who carefully plan out how their gear is organized should be rewarded. Players with ammo in their backpacks should have to open their backpacks to retrieve it.

This is it. If you are organized, then you  could press "R" even for chambering bullets.

As long as you dont have a magazine or clip, you are severely "handicapped" and gets punished for it, i find this very fitting.

Punishment for not having found a magazine? Why? I've found a weapon, isn't this a good thing? Why punish the weapon user even more than just being able to shot one bullet every 2 secs since he have to chamber pressing a single button every time?

Thanks to @Jexter since he completely understood what I was trying to say here.

  6.       Hello guys how are you doing today?
Well, I started a discussion on Reddit that doesn't got much attention. But I'm pretty sure it has lot of common sense and I really wanted my little opinion to be seen. So I'll let this thread here and organize it better than at Reddit.

First of all I think we should be able to chamber one bullet to our guns just by pressing "R" or "T"  when we are out of mags.

Now I will tell you guys my reasons on this and some counter-argues against some common things people say against this idea.

Actually we just have to load up the mags to do our normal "R" to reload. And that's okay.

We don't need to open up our inventory and "Eject" the magazine that is inside the weapon.

And in the other hand, to chamber one bullet. You will need to open your inventory at every bullet fired.

•For those who says that this thing about opening up your inventory is about reality and those about keeping calm so you can reload.

Thinking this way, why don't you have to «Eject» your empty magazine so you can drag and reload your gun with a loaded one?? The system easily eject the magazine for you. Where is the "reality" in this?

    — So with this in mind, I think we should be able to chamber «one single bullet» by pressing an assigned button to «Chamber» since we have weapons like Mosin and SKS that doesn't need a magazine. Or block the "R" key function for sake of "reality".

Ok this is it. Thanks for reading and taking your time, sorry for the grammar errors, and it's okay if you think the whole thing is crap. if you want to check out the reddit discussion. Click Here

  7. I agree with 2 weapons on the back of the character... Man, we carry an axe on our back. If you guys are trying to talk about reality here to disapprove this idea then we shouldn't even use the axe on the back, just weapons like the baseball bat.
Anytime you fall to the ground with an axe on your back, I'm pretty sure that the thing will get ugly.
So, I think two fire arms on the sides of your backpack is more then safe to people to carry. But yeah, you will surely walk a little bit slower.
An unrealistic situation though would be this \/.

  8. My real though on this is to have another source of light, when we couldn't find any gas canisters. You know, night time is pretty black on its top moment. So any light source would be just fine.

You could have a Rag + Stick = 2-3 minute torch, and add kerosene, So Rag + stick + kerosene = 7-10 minute torch..

Atleast adds a bit of realism. ;D

This is nice, kerosene should be added to the game too when torches came.

  9. Hello guys, how are you doing today!?

Well I'm here to post a fabulous idea, and it is!~ Tadããã~ Put the match sticks that are already in-game to work!

    The deal is :

So, night time has arrived, the servers don't restart anymore since loot respawn turn into a reality [Oohh~]

You poor flashlight keeps clipping through walls and you don't want to give away your position from kilometers, then you find yourself some match-box! [OMG!]

Then you get the match sticks from it, put then on fire, and light up your way! Even throw the sticks around the area to light up the floor for a while [something like, 10 seconds or less] or better if you manage to find a Ash Wood (that is in-game too) you set it on fire, so you get yourself a shinny and beautiful torch! [Huláhláh!]

And as the Exp. is taking long time to come, put this too on it. I would really appreciate it! Cya next time!

  10. Just be patient guys, no need to worry, we were worried about when DayZ would come out and now freaking worried about the updates. But just be patient, not every things goes as we want, this is an issue that we all have in life.

And the only thing that the hype on waiting for updates are showing me, is that the game is a great success and you guys are loving it. So you guys wait anxiously for the new stuff to be up and some of us [players] go nuts about it... But, ok, it will surely come to us. And when fireplaces and other great stuff come, it will be awesome.

  11. After many hours of scavenging I had 2 30 round mags for the Sporter, but could not find the rifle. I was dying to try it, and held on to them. Finally found one, but as I had a decked out Mosin I just fired a few rounds at zombies and then abandoned it all. I didn't see the point of making it my primary - unless I was merely surviving in the forest and using it for rabbits. Having a one-shot-kill primary for anti-asshole purposes is more important to me right now.

As the video says, "it could take out a person from a fight". If the Sporter was a little bit more powerful and could on 1-shot let a person unconscious, it would be of great use... Today I experienced it for the first time and the first thought I had was to call out some friends, and do some shooting on a far city, or in the jungles, just for fun, because surely this gun wouldn't kill on even 2 shots. ( 3 shots on zombies heads to kill them. )

  12. You can't jump over the "new" stone formations in the new board lands cities in the game. So you cannot camp on the top of it, and if you try to vault you just get stuck in the stones.
So, YES for the Jumping like a tasty bunny feature!.

Ps.: This game surely needs more fast paced action to it! If you wanna be sneaky as a ninja, you got to be fast and fluid on your actions!~JustSaying.

  13. @Geckofrog7
Yeah man, you got a point and I wasn't thinking about that kind of situation since I play mostly solo. But what if the "image/rec" of your body was from the top of it, like on the DayZ S.A. launching trailer when the girl commits suicide?

Video reference of what I'm talking: http://youtu.be/u0tQIxZUmWw?t=47s

Anyway, I got to say man, this trailer made me go crazy when I first saw it xD.

  14. F#$%@ The Reality[notatall] and "This is not a shooter". My guess is that it's a game, and as a game, seeing you character dead/death is great since we random re-spawn on a gigantic map. First time I played DayZ on the Mod, I seriously found that "Black - You are dead screen" just annoying. I kind of wanted to see what happened to my body after being murdered. [The player who killed me done what after kills me? The Zombie who kill me, ate my body? How have was the animation of myself falling to the floor?]. This is a game, and I think that's an awesome idea, seeing 10/5 secs of death rec, dot.

  15. When there is a DayZ New York, or London, it should have a metro, but in Chernarus it has no place..

So be it! Let DayZ New York come out. Ahahahaha!!!! I would love to explore some underground rail-road. But the light system will need to be better then the actual DayZ [see "anything" in night without NVG sucks]

  16. I was digging in the Youtube checking out some awesome videos of DayZ and Arma 3. Then I saw, this video and maaan I got to say, just these details would create a really more intense feeling and atmosphere to the game.

This is the video. The part where it get my attention begins on 2:35 of the video. Check it out please.

Sorry for bringing the topic up [but, I was about to create one to show you guys this.]

  17. Hello guys, I saw that the Devs are working on the melee weapons now, and one thing makes me annoyed when I fresh spawn on the game with just the flashlight in hands...

The thing is... I cannot punch zombies and see where they are D:. you know, I can't have my flashlight on one hand, and do some punching in the eye of the zombies with one of my arms, because god said that "Men needs to hold tah flashlight tight with their two hands!"

And so it goes when I have a pistol, why I can't have a pistol in one hand, and have my flashlight in other?

I suggest to the awesome developers of DayZ (This game is f***king addictive, even on it's Alpha o_O') to put two hands, on the inventory, instead of just one, you know... this probably would solve the problem! :D. (Sure, there is loads of details I've jumped, like the trouble it would give to the animators and scripters, and shit. But this is my suggestion.) Cya guys.

  18. What other challenges do we have now in this game? Surviving is too easy, and we almost don't even see zombies, for now, DayZ is about killing people or making them prisoners. Sure you can be the good guy, and shoot people who begins a fight, if you are a good sniper you can gain some time for unarmed people to run from bandits. But the thing is... This is an end of the world simulator, everybody wants to live and don't take risks on their lives. So... KoS them all, be stealthy as hell, back stab everyone who is in your way, and then, successfully stay alive, no shame on playing the game as it has to be played. And all this tension is what brings the sensation of playing DayZ.
