Got a couple of cars and drove all the way from Altar to Komarovo via Elektro and Cherno with plans to cross the oceans in a magnificent exodus to that prison island of recent legends.

My friend told me it was possible. After all this in an alpha.

My friends in the green car drove past the island and ended up drowning in the great blue depths.

Myself and my other friend slammed in to a steep hillside and the car tumbled on its roof. I died, he was the only survivor.

    It was worth it though.

  2. For example, brands like Opel, Vauxhall, Ford, Chevrolet, and many others do have a place here, look at countries similar to Chernarus, such as Ukraine or Czech Republic. There are more than just Ladas and GAZ's and VAZ's and so on

But if they'd put around ten different cars into the game and wanted to be authentic about it, those would be the most common cars in an eastern european country like Chenarus, then there'd be no Chevrolets and Fords in it.

It's not really that relevant yet though.

  3. If they add any other pistol calibers I'd 100% hope they would do 7.62x25mm.

There's no real point in doing .25 ACP because it's used exclusively by pocket pistols, many of which are available in ammo types like .380 ACP. Plus, we're not in desperate need of any other pistol calibers, we have five different rounds commonly used by handguns as is and .25 ACP doesn't have anything special about it making it worthwhile.

    Never.

I wasn't talking about calibers, i don't care. What I was talking about was guns and as an example I used a Czech .25 caliber pocketpistol that's designed after the Czech .45 handgun, because it would be obviously more commonly available than a derringer.  Especially if we still pretend that Chenarus' real life counterpart is the Czech republic.

  4. Could we perhaps have less specialized weapons and more common weapons added into the game in the future?

For example, I'm pretty sure a CZ 45 .25 acp is a more common pocketgun in eastern europe than a derringer, let alone a pink one.

  5. im trying to find some mosins and vests not far from cherno to go pvp and I found the school and the prison at chapaevsk and ive been there a few times and looked around and found nothing. I server hopped and found a balaclava at the prison and a  p1 pistol at the school. the school in electro spawns better loot. were these buildings supposed to have little or no mil loot for balancing reasons or am I just unlucky?

Lol noob. Mosin isn't military loot. You find them in blue civilian cars, under green construction trailers, farms and civilian buildings.

  6. they found Vodka bottle models in 0.51 update files - so possibly molotovs could be on the way - we need more improvised weapons though!

First they'd need to create a system for fire. I don't know how hard a task it is but considering what I've seen so far about the engine, I wouldn't hold my breath.

  7. I've bumped into 3 friendlies and 1 guy who was pretending to be friendly, really poor actor. Countless people still KoSing including one lad who tried and failed to kill me after driving past me in his V3S.

I've always found it easier to take care of people when I just say "Hey, I'm friendly". Most of the time it makes them hesitate and there's gap when you can pop them in the head.

Especially if you've got something with high mobility and accurate sights, like magnum. Keeps their equipment in good condition.

  8. I hope you do know that if you do it along with like 20+ people, that is where you screw the server performance while flooding it with joining requests... Not surprised that there is SO much desync...

    I literally cried.

A good way to avoid such flooding of joining requests is to build a basic query system.

Something that, apparently for Bohemia is really hard to do.

Though I must say, I haven't played Arma 3 so I'm not sure if it has one.

  9. I hope they implement the shakes and the uncontrollable laughing and crying if you even eat the cooked human meat.

"Because moral punishment", right? You can only contract kreutzfeldt-jacobs disease from eating human brain and kuru if you eat contaminated human flesh, but for that you should be in Papua new-Guinea and go back in time about thirty years because that's when the last known person died of it. Otherwise human meat works basically like any other meat, you can catch all kinds of diseases if you eat it raw.

    It's realistic.

  10. The game is harder now, that's for sure...

how about a compromise? Wells will function at variable levels of effectiveness.

Some will give dirty water which needs filtering and boiling/purifying

Some will give bacterially infected water

Some will give very little water (this will be reset by rain)

Some will give lots of pure water

There will be no way to tell which of these is the case just by looking. This would finally allow us to make use of the water purification tablets.

That's no doubt the devs intention.

  11. I recall a while back about something geared towards female players

Eh, yeah, that's stereotypical as fuck. I really doubt most females who play Dayz are attracted to pink any more than you are.

I was surprised that they added a pink anything to game that's supposed to be as someone in the dev team kindly put it "an authentic survival game".

Reminds me of this "pink ghillie suit" in Dayz Origins mod that some people, mainly female players, weren't really fond of, you can read about it here.

  12. Government officials would disagree with you.  In fact there has been huge tirades over violence in video games and how far they go.  Hell, I think Manhunter got banned in Australia and some other countries for the violence.  So, yes cannibalism could be over stepping the boundry.

I'm pretty sure if government officials played Dayz in it's current form they'd agree that it's not portayed in any realistic form.

  13.

Yes, being played by human beings. It may not be real, but those people are still using their brains to make very disturbing choices. BUT, it is realistic, and that's what really matters.

But that's my point. It's not disturbing.  Or realistic. You take a knife, you press a button. Get a small animation and a the body disappears. Few steaks appear in your inventory.

They don't have to literally strip the body. Hang him upside down, slit his throat, wait for the blood to spill out, disembowel him and then skin him.

Same with shooting someone in the face. It's just a puppet with minimal emotions and limited body motions. It's not realistic in any way.
