Unless you're posting your picture everywhere on this board I doubt anyone thinks you're 'hot'. Unless you claim that it's you in that avatar. Which I doubt most people wouldn't think was you anyway, since like maybe one out of a hundred people actually put themselves into the avatar. I also doubt most people who consider themselves hot do that anyway, because A) They'd have to advertize it to everyone that it's them in that avatar and B ) No one would believe them, the only people who'd believe you would either send you shitty PMs or call you an attention whore. Then again human vanity is limitless so who knows. <- I'm totes Matthew McCounaghey because he's in my avatarz. Edit: KA-BOOM

If you understand how the game world works, what do do and what not to do and know your way around the different areas in the map, you're a pretty "good player" in Dayz.

Enjoy watching the paint dry.

At this point, unless you've got a shit ton of stuff that you're afraid of losing, there's no reason to let people hold you at gun point. Especially if you're a fresh spawn. Try charging at them, try running away, try seducing them, try to do pretty much anything other than just standing there. Especially if they're going to handcuff you. You'll find most basic stuff in less than an hour, and you'll be on your way again. Very quickly.

Improvised leather backpack. Darker than ye regular and as a size comparison you can fit a fireaxe in to it. Amazed how pretty much everyone so far chose the improvised backpack. Most people I see in game have either a talon backpack or a mountain backpack.

As long as it's not something that you can accidentally choose from the mouse wheel menu, why not.

does anyone find the crossbow underpowered

Probably fixes itself once the whole clothing damage absorption thing is polished. Right now that makes a lot of the weapons feel underwhelming. -
Graphic design is art. Art department is a term more often used in the film industry for the department that designs the visual look of a film, but it applies to games as well. There's more to art than fingerpainting. Sure, I partially agree with that. It affects the other members of the team. But not to the extend which you described in your earlier post. Unless you've actually talked to the developers and they have confirmed most of what you claimed above, it's pure speculation... Well, there you go.

Saying things like: "Don't expect them to fix it any time soon though, they seem to be more concerned with adding a new food or clothing item that nobody needs rather than fixing game breaking bugs." -In any context anywhere besides kindergarten makes a lot of people turn against you and call you an idiot. The people responsible for adding cosmetic items into the game work in the art department, the art department is not responsible for tweaking the game mechanics and code. It's normal for a lot of things to break when new things get added during alpha. Alpha is for adding content, beta is for fixing majority of the bugs and polishing the game. Just because you can't seem to grasp the concept of the alpha phase in the game development process, doesn't mean it's abnormal.
-
Saying that something is removed to be fixed implies that something is broken. When something has never actually worked, it's not broken. It's just not yet implemented. When you compare silencers to ambient sounds, you're being stupid and I'm forced to call you a dummy.
-
Silencers never worked in the first place dummy.

Don't know if you played the game two months ago but back then you could find ten guns sooner than you could find one magazine. That was bullshit. Guns should be rare, yeah but there should be a moderate chance for a gun to be found with a magazine attached. It's logical. The problem currently with the magazines is that afaik they spawn full. If they'd all spawn empty, you wouldn't be bitching about them since a magazine without any cartridges is next to useless.

Rusted cars, offices, schools, piano houses, police stations, apartment blocks (not the high risers). Pretty much anywhere. You just have a bad luck. My mate spent two hours looking for a saw and didn't happen to find any in Chernogorsk.

Wheres the best place to run without getting killed?
Exorade replied to aj1's topic in New Player Discussion
Go to Berezino, Cherno or Elektro but don't run around like an idiot. There's a chance you'll get shot no matter where you are. But if you're careful and you happen to have any kind of situational awareness you might avoid that. Police stations are also overrated, because of said overrating they're huge player magnets and usually get looted first, this also means that they're the best place to get shot pretty much anywhere. Look through all the buildings and old cars and you can find decent equipment pretty fast. Even guns. -
Doesn't matter what a great guy you are. Wouldn't even matter if you'd be the second coming of Jesus. You're prey.

Don't expect snow.

Is it just me or are people actually exploring now?
Exorade replied to TheWizard14's topic in General Discussion
Don't know what kind of servers you usually play on but moving on Berezino - Electro - Cherno - Balota axis isn't exploring. -
Also hold W while doing so, because then your character will automatically keep moving while equipping the weapon. If you don't, there's a risk that your character stops to equip the weapon and the zombie(s) gets a free strike. No stamina, no cardio, not a relevant joke.

What's wrong with the inventory?

This game is and always will be way too military focused by players
Exorade replied to billyangstadt's topic in General Discussion
One of the things I think might effect this thinking, would be to have more civilian vests and coats in the game that have the same amount of storage space as the military vests and coats. Right now if you think of Dayz as some game where you have to get all the "top-tier gear" military vests and coats are at the top of that list because they give you the most storage space. Sure, there are hunting pants and cargo pants that have the same amount of space as TTsKO and gorka pants, but no civilian jackets with more than four spaces. Also tracksuit pants need to have the same space as the jeans, otherwise I don't see any reason to actually pick them up, other than that they look kinda cool. -
How many ammo do you carry?
Exorade replied to HeroAtDay BanditAtNight's topic in New Player Discussion
8 or 9 drum mags? -
Based on all the ultra rusty cars we're not. The setting is prone to change at this point so I wouldn't base any arguments on how long it's been since the start, yet. It was just my opinion, it wasn't in its own thread in the suggestions sub forum. Most pristine condition clothing I haven't found packed away in a store, but left on the ground at residential buildings emptied out of pretty much everything else.
-
I don't know, personal preference?
-
Everything is too clean. All things when they're pristine look like you pulled them directly out of a plastic bag at the local factory. The damaged look of all clothing and items should replace pristine.
-
I know nobody, you don't.
