To the OP's last question, I absolutely wholeheartedly believe they knew the rough limitations of the engine they were developing this game on. It's still up in the air wether its a case of 'it's alpha' or a case of 'fuck it, lets make the best game we can out of this shit'. I think there's hope that the problems that have come with this engine (and from what I understand, they're the biggest gameplay problems I see when I play) can be band-aided or solved. So far, this alpha is truly an alpha, it really doesnt feel like a marketing ploy. It feels like a living breathing changing game that is still heavily under the early stages of development, no? I think all we can do is trust that there are plans in place to solve a lot of the crap we see when we play. And if it turns out rocket's vision was thrown onto rotten canvas I guess we can thank them for all the fish. I've had a blast alpha testing this stinking mess, personally.

Does being in a city have anything to do with it? If you're in a spot where there's a pile of loot, it seems to really hit the frames

What I would miss seeing (if this didnt turn out to be so temporary) are random dead bodies. I like stumbling on the aftermath of a firefight. Just makes you feel like something BIG went down there.

No server restarts? Really?

Why should that even be a factor? Why should anyone have to think about a timer before bodies dissapear?

I think ten minutes is a crazy short time for bodies to remain.

Buddy of mine pointed out something on the dayzdb map. If you look just north of the east side of the NE airfield you can see an outlined drawing of a naked guy holding a club. Anyone visited this in game? Got any screenshots?

i run backwards from him until he gets close enough i can do a 'couple step' lunge towards him and try to smack him in the face with the axe before he has a chance to take a swing. If my aim is good, then i wont take damage, if my aim is bad and i miss then its circle time and I cross my fingers. Truthfully, the aim is the hardest part and I chalk a lot of that to strange mouse behaviour in the alpha.

I was in a pinch last life and started grunting after taking a bullet. Needed to stop grunting asap and all i had on me for pain was morphine. Worked for the 2 minutes i lived after that until i got executed.
