  1. well, people who think they are a lot better at the game than they really are always cry hacker when they die. that happens in a lot of games. the same goes for hackers who get caught, most of them go to the forums crying about unjust bans, even tho 99% of the time they end up being proven hackers. dayz is no different from other games for this kind of crap.

  2. Rejoice brothers, for our loss was not in vain!!!

For many years weeks, we have fought a valiant fight against fascism the evil 5.56. Our countryman and fellow allies have suffered under the tyrannical and murderous reign of the AK-101, and it's evil betrayal of the lore, realism, and STRONK Russian weaponry. But today, the evil Reich has finally admitted defeat.

Our troops celebrate the glorious victory over the evil Axis powers, and our banners fly over the city of Prague. The Alliance of valiant and STRONK brother have fought a passionate fight, and it was not in vain after all.

Rejoice with your friends, your family. Parade the streets, and cry our call; "5.45 or bust!".

And now, I can rest in peace knowing that the CDF will finally be accurately represented in a game other than ArmA. And, on that, I end on a high note...

wtf are you talking about. are you trying to claim the ak101 is a 5.45 weapon?

  3. What's proper dispersion for an M4?  Off a sandbag rest with a 16" barrel AR15, geissele SSA trigger and 4x32 horseshoe ACOG, I was able to make five shot groups at 100 yards under under 1 MOA.  That's a circle less than one inch across.  I see highpower competitors who have 20" bull barreled AR15s who can reliably hit a static mansized target at 600 yards... standing offhand, no support other than a sling.

I also see mall ninjas at the range who struggle to hit a 50 yard man sized target with their $3000 AR15 variants.

    So what's proper?

well, m4's with worse dispersion than a shotgun are certainly not proper. 3moa at 300 yards would be good, an average shooter should be capable of that.

  4. Do you people want realistic? Then your "civilian" character should be hitting nothing with that AK/M4 since, you know, they obviously have no training at all. Your character should miss terribly due to not knowing how to use any sights properly. Oh wait, you don't want that do you?

you have no clue what you are talking about. first off the ak was designed to be able to be used somewhat effectivly by people with no training. that is what makes it so popular with all sorts of rebels and "terrorists".  the m16 is a bit tougher to use, but a taking a couple shots is all somebody needs to do in order to be able to shoot the thing. maintenence on the m16 is where people with no training would run into problems. overall, using the sights on them is not much different than using the sights on civilian weapons. hell, i have never had any training, and i have no problems shooting stuff with my m4's and my ak47's.

  5. And like I said, they're working on plenty of other stuff that isn't guns -

    • A Firefighter Helmet
    • the SPOSN backpack
    • a 55 gallon drum
    • Cigarettes
    • Vodka
    • Dime Bags
    • Skate Helmets
    • Wallets
    • Radio Cassette Players
    • Waterproof bags & backpacks

And, of course they're working on new buildings for the NEAF and a new zombie model.

Having some new guns from time to time isn't a problem, we're getting plenty of other unrelated stuff.

those are small things. there are significant things that need to be done that will take a lot of resources, like vehicles, barricading, base building, etc.

  6. Hm, I didnt know that. This makes sense and you can label the OP as "retarded" then ;D Atleast I learned something new. Have my beans!

EDIT: But, isn't it a bit bad that grenades then cant be cooked?

ya they can be cooked. watch a decent ww2 movie. they show people cooking off grenades. they pull the pin, then let the spoon(that piece of metal you see flying off the grenade) go and hold the grenade for a few seconds before throwing it. that is for typical murican type grenades tho, grenades like stick grenades work a little differently.

  7. Well, considering that they have a team of people who have specializations, I don't think it makes sense to have artists and modelers working on fixing bugs or adding new ground breaking features.

Plus, even content related stuff is worked on across the board, it's not like they throw all of their time into one thing.

And I was talking about in general. Even if they completely stopped adding new things to fix what we had, there'd still be a time and place for new stuff at some point.

there is plenty of new stuff that needs created/added other than guns. it has nothing to do with bug fixes.

  8. But how did the countless time I pulled the pin off a grenade and thrown it with it exploding after 4-5 seconds ingame count then? I am not a military buff, but what can be seen in the video seems silly to me.

when you throw the grenade you no longer are holding the "spoon", which detaches and arms the grenades fuse. the pin is like the saftey that holds the spoon into place.

  9. Well, if the M1 Garand rumors are true... and assuming they include .30-06... then we'll have 7.62x54R, .308, and .30-06.

Which is ideal, in my opinion. .30-06 for the common hunting rifles and low-rent battle rifles. 7.62x54R for the uncommon Warsaw Pact gear (i.e. Mosin, SVD, and PKM), then .308 for the rare NATO stuff.

Once that's done, or even if they don't add .30-06, all that's left in my opinion as necessary is a dedicated sniper rifle round.

I mean, we're really only talking about adding a handful of calibers (three or four depending on what one views as necessary).

If they do add the M1 Garand, they may not include .30-06 right away. So, we'll see. Just don't want people freaking out any more than is absolutely necessary.

well .308 nato is for the nato stuff, hunting rifles use .308 winchester. they are not the same thing. its like how 5.56 nato and .223 rounds work. any rifle chambered for .556 nato can shoot .223 remington, but .223 rifles can not shoot 5.56 nato.

  10. Planetside has not:

    - NPC enemies scattered across the map

    - As detailed a map as Dayz has with that amount of foliage, towns etc

    - thousands of items scattered across the map that have to be rendered and put into video memory

Finally, it is built on a different engine most probably tailored directly for that game, while DayZ (atleast now) still uses a bastard child of an engine not particulary suited for that type of game.

planetside 2 is built on the forge engine or w/e. its not specifically built for planetside 2, planetside 2 was just the first game they created on that engine. the new everquest games are also built on that same engine, as well as h1z1.
