I'm afraid I don't remember the settings off the top of my head I'll check later on and let you know though

    im generally confused

Buying anything based on hype is generally a mistake. Having said that on the server browser it does tell you the time on every server. Pick one where the time is say 9,00 am and you'll have some daylight to play in.
  3. I am a friendly player, but I am also a realist. I think waiting till two or three players have spotted you and are advancing is suicide (the reason I mention that is because it is the most popular answer). 3-2 on 1 doesn't put the odds in your favour, you need the element of surprise to come out on top. I'd shoot on sight unquestionably, unless there was a way to retreat completely unnoticed. I'd take one of them down and move to a better position in the chaos of them trying to heal their friend/working out where the shots came from. I'd then do my best to kill all of them. Now let me explain my rationale. I am friendly in DayZ, but in order to survive one has to make calculated decisions. From experience I know that a group of players is likely to either kill me or steal my shit. Neither outcome is desirable in terms of survival. Thus the best approach is to treat them as threats. Mostly threats that I would flee from, but if there was little chance of being undetected I'd shoot and I'd fully use the element of surprise to my advantage. Once they spot you they can flank you and perform a coordinated attack that you will not survive. Shoot on sight I say.

    i3-4130 or fx-6300

Well it's hard to say really. I have a i3-4130 plus a GeForce GTX 650 and I run DayZ with optimized settings at about 35-50 fps. I don't know if that info is of any use though, but I'll throw it out there.

    More Zeds

Well that's as may be. But this is the DayZ forum, say anything negative and it starts a flame war, you don't have to be here that long to realise that. Also your post did come across as a bit enraged and ranty. I mean if you'd have said: "I'm just curious as to why the dev team have increased the number of zombies before fixing the fact that they can walk through walls?" that would be hard to construe as angry or ranting (it probably would have started a flame war anyway though), what you actually said seemed like an angry rant.

Would you approach me or KOS?

If I saw you helping other players I might be convinced you're not a threat. Still wouldn't approach though :P

Would you approach me or KOS?

I'd shoot you on sight if I had a weapon. If I didn't I'd run away. Having a fully kitted out M4 doesn't say "I'm approachable". I wouldn't want the risk of you being nearby. Doesn't matter what else you're wearing really.

To be fair dude, you had to expect that everyone is going to jump on you as soon as you submitted this topic...

I'm sure they have their reasons for implementing this or that thing before anything else and these reasons have nothing to do with what you think their priorities should be. Personally, I think respawning zombies is really cool, good work team.
  10. I'm just curious, in the least accusatory way possible as to how you know what the tactics are of server hoppers? How do you find out?

    The Future Of Chernarus

Why are there guns in the game then? Why does it allow you to shoot other people? Don't get me wrong, personally I do not shoot on sight as a general rule, but to say that it is not a part of the game or not meant to be in the game is fucking ridiculous. What you are doing is trying to conflate 'what I want the game to be about' with 'what the game is about'. Really the game is what you want it to be, and if that means shooting some dimwit in the face whilst they shout 'friendly' as though it is some magic word, then so be it. If you want it to be about helping other people or what have you then so be it. DayZ is a sandbox, and by definition its a game that you can play how you want.

    The Future Of Chernarus

All of your suggestions are biased I don't care for achievements, however if they do implement the above suggestions there also needs to be: - Kill 10 survivors - Rob 10 survivors Etc etc... You can't bias the achievements towards a particular play style.

    Is Spy Infiltration wrong ethics/cheating

Urm not really wrong, but posting about it on the forums about the game that you are trying to spy on people in might not be the best tactic as perhaps one of them might read it and realize that they are compromised.

What Is Your BIGGEST Pet Peeve In DayZ?

    - That zombies are nothing once you get an axe - How shit the M4 is - Not knowing whether to pick something up cause it may or may not actually have a use yet (do vitamins do anything yet? etc) - How rare can openers are (every household in the civilized world has one, why are there hardly any in Chernarus?)

It takes more bullets to kill with the Mosin now

I dunno if it was a scripter. I was playing with a friend today and he went invisible - it might have been the same thing

If your PP's turned off you can't be much of a man

Calling built-in options that everyone can change 'cheating' is ridiculous. Its like saying using a gun is cheating because they can kill me and its not fair cause I don't want to die. If PP was always on and people found a hack to remove it, then yes you could say its cheating. You might wish to say it's exploitable---which we can debate here. But to say it's cheating is stupid. I turned mine off cause I wanted the game to run smoother, until it runs smoothly with PP on then I shall keep it off.
  17. Probably no where, unless its a low population server, or you got in just after restart. Head in land, I found two B95s in barns.

KoS is the worst thing in the dayz?

People who fall for the whole 'I'm friendly' canard are the worst thing in DayZ that's for sure.

What is, or will be, the point of this game?

Basically you get 100 points per zombie, and 1000 points per player that you kill. Once you earn enough points you can unlock new weapons such as rocket launchers and tanks. At the end of every level you get a boss, which is usually some mutated super zombie monster. If you beat all the bosses you unlock the golden sniper rifle which makes it a lot easier on hard mode. Of course none of this is in the game yet cause its still early access, but just you wait :)

If you like dying, come to BEREZINO.

That last image gives away the server for anyone interested :) *exits topic swiftly*

My first run in w/ hackers (possible)

I wouldn't necessarily chalk this up to hacking. I have been attacked by invisible zombies since the recent patch... May have been a similar issue with a player.

The Current Combat Log System Dosen't Work

I think the solution is really simple. You can't log out near another player
  23. doctorbadsign

If you like dying, come to BEREZINO.

Berezino is where a lot of people spawn, give me a gun and I could kill loads of people there. Not really much worth bragging about.
  24. I kinda think base building is a bit silly beyond a certain rudimentary level. I mean if you think about it, what are you more likely to do in a survival situation; waste a fuckload of time building a rickety wooden base from scratch, or use the valuable materials that you have to fortify an existing structure? I think fortification would be cool, but wooden structures built from scratch is stupid and makes no sense, I dunno why people value the concept so much.

Suggestions how i could survive the ambush the next time

Notice how much harder it is to see someone in woodland? Try to navigate in cover of trees as you will be a lot harder to see. This might mean going the long way around, rather than running in as the crow flies, but you'll be much less visible. If you have to cross any open places you need to bear in mind that movement stands out, and the faster it is the more it stands out. Therefore if you are not under fire, try moving slowly across open ground, maybe even go prone and crawl it. Spread out and use communication to keep track of each other. If you are really close to each other a sniper will have seen you both if they see one of you. You want it to be so that if the sniper sees one of you, there's a chance that the other is not seen. Look at the landscape and try to think where you'd be hiding if you were a sniper. There's probably more, but being aware of this kind of thing will help.
