I can't wait for the day when I can set up camp in the middle of nowhere and stay out of everyone's way hunting animals until I need to go into a town to do a supply run... That's the DayZ I want. -

I figured that this would mostly be something to do with going into shock, and then subsequently undergoing cardiac arrest? I never suspected random heart attacks, but whatever... -
I tried to live of berries in the previous build. That didn't go so well. I didn't find a single berry and then reached the brink of starvation and decided it would be much better to find some beans haha

I really like the update, especially the wetness etc. That baby is going to change how we play BIGTIME. It doesn't do anything yet and we don't have fire to dry off, but I can totally see why they are introducing it in baby steps, as it will totally change the game and needs to be done right. -
I dunno how they could do it. Maybe have the grass render much further whilst looking through a scope, but not at all times? That way performance wouldn't be hit too badly and the advantage would be removed. Then again, you should know that to a sniper whilst you might think you're in cover, you're not.

I disagree. Why would there only be 1 jacket and a couple of other sundry items per house? If the game were realistic, which it is not, nor will it ever be fully. Every house would have far more clothes, food. Not to mention that every house would also have a fucking can opener! I'd agree with you if the houses spawned a realistic level of loot, but they don't and I don't think they ever will. Thus respawning loot is the way to go. It's either that or just encourage server hopping forever.

I'm really excited about the wet having an effect. I can imagine being caught out in the rain and heading to the nearest shelter and then having to defend it against anyone else who might be looking for shelter too. Sounds like a wicked gameplay changer... -

Yup. Unless you want a machine that will provide you with the unique ability to play games and make toast/heat a small room at the same time. -
Yeah I mean you should be able to get something from Balota, maybe scopes, clothing and perhaps a pistol, but to get an M4 you should have to head inland.

I agree to an extent that more threatening zombies might stop some people from killing on sight. I guarantee though, people would still kill you on sight. -

We already have it (gear getting ruined). It doesn't stop people. Not really sure anything will I'm afraid. -
I was asking for opinions on a random idea I'd had. FYI I do play on hardcore servers. However I am also aware that many 3PP players agree that the exploits need fixing.

I don't think they could port DayZ to a console. If they did it would be super dumbed down. How would you map the complex controls to a controller for a start? I don't think it will happen. -
How would 3PP players feel if the Alt key head turn thing was disabled? That would certainly solve some of the exploits. Of course I'm not saying you should have it removed, just wondering what people think really.

I don't care what people do on their 3PP servers (I use them for messing about) and I wouldn't want to dictate how they should play etc. All I would say is try 1PP for half an hour you'll love it. I was once a 3PP lover, but after an hour or so on a Hardcore server, I didn't want to look back.

5 minutes isn't that long to wait really, just go pee or get a drink or something. If anything it's too short and doesn't stop server hoppers. -

The difference is huge. You can't see around corners and take peeks over walls in Hardcore servers. This makes a massive difference to gameplay.
