Arma 2 oa has stopped working - crash to desktop: FIXED!!

I have tried every step, though it does absolutely nothing to fix the issue. When I launch Arma 2 OA without mods after installing 94700 and 1.61 I crash even when joining normal servers. I completely deleted the game about 4 hours ago, downloaded it and reinstalled with absolutely no change. I've spent 12 hours trying to get my game working again since the 1.7.2 update. This is really depressing

    Loot difference between servers?

Yes. That is my understanding. The same has been done at Stary Sobor with military items.

    Loot difference between servers?

I'm quite certain that it's just the loot system itself. It has to do with several key factors. 1.) The location of the loot. (Areas like Cherno, Elektro, NWAF, Stary and other airfields are looted more frequently than others) 2.) The number of players on (The more people looting, the less loot there is) 3.) How long the server has been up 4.) If the loot has been picked up/spawned again. (Only loot piles that spawn items and are emptied spawn more, so respectively tin can piles probably wont be re-spawning any good items since no one picks them up. You also have to consider the probability of loot not spawning. For instance, a super-market has 23 loot spawns with a 60% chance of spawning loot. The probability of finding an ALICE pack in one of those spawns is 2.83%. Respectively the chance of you finding an ALICE pack is 1.698% on a server that has just been restarted and spawned loot. This is odd though, as sometimes you can walk into a super-market and find 3 ALICE packs (.000483% chance of happening) and other times you will find none. The short answer is, sometimes when a server starts spawning loot it spawns a lot of good items. Other times the loot pile may be empty and the ones that had good loot may now have tin cans. It's also nearly impossible to account for how often an area is looted given the many factors that contribute to loot being found.

    101 Servers violating slot requirement

really? Read your first post What action to take? When I bought a server' date=' I did not cry because of the other, I paid and that's it! I was going to 40 but now because of you and your threats I stay at 25! [/quote'] I was referring to contacting the host of the server through the Google group and asking them about the server slots... I really don't care how many slots you use. I do care whether the rules make sense, which they currently do not. The amount of hate I'm getting from this is just childish. Cyperpolice? When did I ever say I was trying to control what goes on here. I spent 20 minutes making a list to show how many servers don't currently meet the server rules posted in the section. I was making an inquiry about the situation. I don't know why people are acting like this is some sort of crusade.

    101 Servers violating slot requirement

I searched before posting this and found nothing saying that was true. If it is, please link me to it instead of just calling me a tard and assuming you are correct.

    101 Servers violating slot requirement

Could you please link me to somewhere that this has actually been stated?
  7. The DayZ server host rules clearly state: "Minimum slot count of 40 (30 for countries where bandwidth is expensive i.e. developing countries)" Here is an image of the server list with their respective slot counts List of servers violating this slot requirement as per 2:00 A.M. eastern time: AT #01 Atlanta 11 Atlanta 12 Atlanta 16 Atlanta 17 Atlanta 23 Atlanta 25 Atlanta 26 Atlanta 27 Atlanta 29 Atlanta 32 Atlanta 33 Atlanta 34 Atlanta 35 Atlanta 36 Atlanta 39 Atlanta 40 Atlanta 41 Atlanta 42 Atlanta 43 Atlanta 44 Atlanta 45 Atlanta 6 Atlanta 85 Chicago 29 Chicago 32 Chicago 37 Chicago 40 Chicago 41 Chicago 44 Chicago 54 Chicago 56 Chicago 58 Chicago 61 Chicago 67 Dallas 33 Dallas 35 Dallas 39 Dallas 43 Dallas 45 Dallas 46 Dallas 50 DE Sacred Warriors DE1 DE30 ESP EU30 EU38 EU75 Germany 1 Germany 11 Germany 13 Germany 15 Germany 17 Germany 22 Germany 5 Germany 7 Germany 8 LA 1 LA 3 LA 9 LU16 NL11 NL9 NY22 Seattle 10 Seattle 11 Seattle 12 Seattle 14 Seattle 15 Seattle 16 Seattle 17 Seattle 18 Seattle 19 Seattle 20 Seattle 24 Seattle 25 Seattle 26 Seattle 27 Seattle 28 Seattle 29 Seattle 31 Seattle 34 Seattle 35 Seattle 36 Seattle 37 Seattle 39 Seattle 40 Seattle 41 Seattle 47 Seattle 48 Seattle 50 Seattle 51 Seattle 52 Seattle 53 Seattle 54 Seattle 55 Seattle 57 Seattle 7 Seattle 9 AZ3 Either the rules need to be changed to reflect the fact that lower slot counts are acceptable or action should be taken against the servers listed above if they continue to use slot counts below the ones required in the DayZ rules.

Passing out every time i log in

I'm getting this too. I haven't even been shot yet and I'm getting knocked out for logging to avoid death. http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=19848

    Bugged knock-out system?

I was playing earlier today and fell through a wall while climbing down some stairs. No biggie, just a broken leg and lost half my health. Had to bandage myself and get some morphine & painkillers. After I was done healing I looted what I could and took off walking. About 5 minutes later I logged off and when I returned I was knocked out for presumably logging to avoid death. I laid on the grass and waiting my time out cause I understood 5 minutes may not have been enough time. I keep playing and an hour later I arrive at an air field and after looting for several more hours I decide to call it quits for a while. I wasn't being shot at (hadn't been shot at the entire time I was thee) and I logged off after getting out of the airstrip. I logged back in just now and was knocked out yet again. I waited my time out and when I got back to my base I logged. When returning I was knocked out for an additional five minutes. I really don't understand what's going on...
  10. The problem is that gives server hosts too much power. Any admin could kick you at any time (whether you're shooting at them, or just got done rebuilding a helicopter) without you even getting a notice. So I would have to say that is a wholesomely bad idea. You could always put something like RES SLOTS=5 in the server name, or 45 player max. Wouldn't be a perfect system but players would be able to know when the only remaining slots are reserved.
