I prefer subtitles, no matter how clear the voices are. In DayZ the direct chat tends to go fairly soft, and as someone who's English is not his native tongue the subs make the videos nicer to watch :>

Hilarious stuff :D here, have some beans
-
This is actually one of the best and coolest SA videos I've ever seen. Very interesting situation. Also loved the badass Hollywood way you introduce yourself to your colleague hero... "I'd suggest if you're gonna help this guy you should probably stay of the street" B)
-
"Hey man I'm friendly" , then complaining about everyone in the server killing you.. Then the first opportunity you get you try to kill some guy with a gun :')
-
This is one of the things I fucking love about DayZ. Something might seem to be, but knowing the full story one might have a fully different opinion. Amazing how the perspective of the concepts of 'good' and 'bad' can shift and fade once society collapses and apocalypse hits. :D I fully take back my words.

Nice vid, but the way you kill that first guy and the way you say: "Don't shoot" to people, only to kill them the first oppertunity you get makes you a pathetic scumbag. just my opinion
-
"Look at the mag" or "Look in the mag" is also oversimplified. With some mags you can see into them and distinguish the amount of cartridges up to like 5 or 6, after that it becomes more of a guess, because the cartridges block out your view. So you could either estimate, by weight, remember how many rounds you have fired, or empty the mag, count the cartridges and fill it back up..

Can you zoom in further when looking through iron sights?
toasted duckie replied to Captain Cornhole's topic in New Player Discussion
I'm not sure if I agree with you here. In the mod the goal of zooming in is to further investigate something in the distance you are interested in, correct? In real life there is something you can do to help you achieve this retrieve this extra information. Think about it, you're walking outside and see something far away, not sure what it is, what do you do? You squeeze your eyes, to block out peripheral light/vision. Also, your brains try to actually process all the 'data' that comes in, instead of making assumptions. Your brain makes a lot of assumptions, to minimize the 'workload' of useless information, you don't see the leaves on a tree, your brain makes them up, it sees this shape that is probably a tree with leaves, so you think you see the leaves, while actually your brain just filled in the blank spot. Until you focus on said leaves, that is. My (real life) experience is that one can get better information of looking at something in the distance. Another experience is that when looking through gun sights this effect gets greater. Finally, I notice that I'm more capable to looking at targets up to 500m away (iron sights) when well rested, fit, energized etc as opposed to being awake for a few days with very little rest, deprived of food, physically heavily loaded and having moved significant distances in shit weather conditions. -
I like how you overthink your next move, instead of just blindly doing the first thing that comes to mind... perhaps the M4 shooting, while you were in that house was the wounded guy fending off zombies? DayZ is the ONLY game I know that gets me going, adrenalin pumping and even heavy breathing/sweaty palms..

Funny little mini-game you guys invented there, giving someone random blood to see how it goes. But the cold blooded, uncalled for execution at the end makes you guys look pathetic in my eyes... -_-

Sounds like a steam issue to me. I bet your friend is better of at http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/

Need help to fix broken legs... :-( please...
toasted duckie replied to Team_Kengai's topic in New Player Discussion
http://tmwdayz.com/ These guys are fucking heroes. Game broke my leg twice in the last few days randomly. These guys fixed me up in no-time, just join their TS server and go to the appropriate channel. -
Reason why Bandits rise and heroes die.
toasted duckie replied to gregnator's topic in General Discussion
I like how you just compared yourself with a fatso :P You're funny Also: according to your words, it's not your fault that you cannot say no to something, even though it is clear that that something is far, fár from what it eventually will be. Perhaps you should sit down and think about what this says about you, maybe you will want to change that, because in the adult world you will need a backbone and being able to say 'no' sometimes. Just some advice  -
Reason why Bandits rise and heroes die.

.... so we don't have to deal with idiots. I was genuinely laughing out loud ... Not are you just a total douchebag, you're a whiny douchebag :P -
Another funny Bandit encounter.
toasted duckie replied to strayshadow's topic in New Player Discussion
Now thát you did not mention.. Quite essential to this story, don't you think? Also: "I decided to beat the snot out of the" Makes it really appear as if you are in fact the KOS bastard/bandit here, not the other way around.. You can't just go making up assumptions like that ;) -
I understand what you mean when you say the mod has so much more then the standalone. I look at the mod and the SA as two separate and different games and I think that maybe, because I do this, the standalone doesn't feel 'emtpy' or 'extremely unfinished' to me. It feels truly like a different game, that will only get better over time :)
-
Would a be 'funny' little mini-game.. But like you already hinted by yourself: feature should not get any priority at this stage of development.
-
Never took the class, but I don't think I'm that far off. Read my post again, then think about it... Then try to read your post again, then think about it again. Now try to be -really- honest, it is kinda how it is, isn't it? ^_^

Fucking pathetic buddy... There's plenty of servers that would give you the gameplay you are seeking... You remind me strongly of religious people shoving their faith down people's throats. You're kinda like a little boy that wants to play with the red toy car, not because you like the red toy car. You were having fun with the blue toy car, but now that you see another little boy play with a red one, you must have it. Grow the fuck up, you sad fuck :)

*disclaimer* Did not read through the entire thread. Am I the only one who thinks it would not be that difficult to keep track of players? It's not technically challenging.. The server has to keep track of where everyone is anyone. Only difference is that now every so often this data (it's a very short string of numbers, like coordinates in the game-world) has to be written to a textfile. Lets say every 15 minutes. Upon death this file can be called and markers can be placed at the locations, creating a path.. I like the idea, it could be nice if implemented properly, however I don't think this has any real priority .. :)

I like your approach. You want to let him live.. But he makes the unlucky decision of heading towards you, and having a sketchy appearance... I've gotta ask: would things have gone differently if he did not wear that mask?
-
Hi guys, short question. Characters from people that log out are still in the server for 30 seconds, correct? Can I recognize if someone has logged out? (i.e. will he/she sit down or something?) Thanks a bunch! :)

Can I recognize if someone logged?
toasted duckie replied to toasted duckie's topic in General Discussion
Thank you. Now I'm wondering about your opinion; short follow-up question: If I were to hold someone up (I probably wouldn't kill them, I try to live and let live, yet seek player interaction) and he/she would sit down, presumebly logged out... Would you considder it murder if I killed them? I think they would deserve nothing less... -
I haven't slept in 2 days after this event. HELP!
toasted duckie replied to mooky32's topic in General Discussion
First of all, I really hope your scrotum is okay. Second: Electro is a deathzone, I can understand your reaction. I avoid the city completely, but if I was forced for some reason to be in Electro I would avoid -everyone-. If the sudden tense of the situation made you shoot, unfortunately killing a possible friendly person, so be it. I stay away from Electro, Cherno, Balota. Worked out so far, I think I'm 20 hours or something on my current char.
