About the splints , try and keep one of the needed ingredients on the ground , and one in your inventory somewhere ..: for some reason I couldn't make a splint until i dropped the stick out of my inventory and combined it with a rag from my inventory.

I've gotten this "referenced memory at 0x, memory could not be written" crash as well , a couple times now :0 !

Whos on? i'm thinking were waiting for steam to bring the update to each region, which unfortunately means each region of the world gets it at slightly different times... but im sure its coming in the next hour for everyone =). EDIT: DOWNLOADING IT NOW! I'm near boston so hopefully eerone else gets it in a few mins if not now!

Yes I'm guessing devs will play with it internally for about 6 months like they did with dayz standalone (PC version was talked about being played by devs in summer of 2013 , so I'm assuming they will release it to the public closer to December 2015 somehow ... Maybe a demo disc lol!! But serously how is this going to work considering games like this don't get "demos"? It must be an open alpha type thing on console , I'm wondering how it would go down considering console gamers usually hate the whole open alpha thang ..

It's not completely random guy , have you been playing the game at all ? You do know that when you FALL UNCONCIOUS BECAUSE OF STARVATION OR THIRST YOU WILL NOT GET BACK UP.. The only chance you have of coming back from unconcious is If you were attacked/shot and your shock meter (unseen determination of mental health somewhat denominated by damage taken )is low enough and have enough blood to wake back up, but why would you assume you could wake up from a thirst induced coma ? Just hit respawn if you don't wake up after 2 minutes , that's generally what people do when you don't have assistance from another .. Only wait for it if you fell unconcious from a bullet or a bludgeoning , never wait for it if you fell unconcious from lack of food or water (but you actually can under very special circumstances wake up , but only if you somehow had these conditions: bright green hydrated , and starving , or bright green energized and dark red thirsty ... This combo usually induces some sort of glitch on characters that allows them to wake up from hunger/thirst induced comas , but this hasn't happened to me since about .32 branch, so I'm assuming it was a bug). -

Probably another couple of hours at least, as in his (eugen) original post he said it would be about a 3 hour ETA, and about an hour after that post (just about now) the exp client was available for preload so im guessing another 2-5 hours tops ... But hey i've been wrong before D=! -

I understand your frustrations, but that's why all good "heroes" know when to GTFO of dodge ... After you help, you run , if you feel weary of what's going down ; don't bother to help... RUN , because what good is a dead hero to those in need? Oh and also expect to be attacked by whomever you save. It sounds strange but when you start thinking that everyone you help is going to kill you , you start to operate quicker , and think more paranoid often resulting in hero success :). See we can't be like all the"heroes" in the movies (never backs out of trouble to help someone) because in the real world you can't save everyone, you have to "pick and choose your battles" so to speak. So if you even think of saving or helping someone you have to think of all the scenarios that could go down and be ok with the consequences, so I usually avoid : Bambi's or geared players randomly yelling into mic tryin to get anyone's attention , ANYONE who is desperately starving(just leave food for them in the middle of the street where they are running towards w/o being seen), anyone in large open areas with lots of places to hide (like a town square), or groups of geared players (I never help those who can help themselves unless they are in my squad). Don't lose hope young grasshopper (although it looks you already have lol !). Being a hero is more fun than a bandits life anyway, we live longer, make more friends, are more handsome, get all the ladies, and occasionally we drink dos equis(we don't always drink beer but when we do ...) -

Thats ok, im just glad to see it come in .54 in general, i've never had much interest in the truck as it couldn't carry both of my friends at once... I'm happy to see this .54 is going to be a thick, detailed beast, with many parts, but after it all rolls out to stable we'll all be happy campers =) .

As long as they are making progress I'm happy :) this games already my go to gal , approaching 1,500 hours and for me that's a lot to put in an alpha ... I'm mostly excited about new v3s's, persistence working fully, more robust ai, better ragdoll and almost all that's coming with the .54 branch :) . Let us all kumbayah and wait for .54 exp. release.

Cuz dayz mod was a script monstrosity , not sure if that could affect your ping but definitely affects how choppy gameplay was , standalone stays away from scripts and instead is hardcoded... That's the only thing I can think of if dayz mod plays like crap on way less ping than what dayz sa gives you with better performance and more ping .. -
First time cooking - what am i doing wrong?

It's definitely a weird bug ... Steaks from any animal should have "raw" in the name right after you extract from the animal and before you cook it, and it's condition isn't what changes, what does change is it's state from being "raw" to "crooked" and then obviously to "burnt" . For those of you who had this bug , did you ever see it say "cooked" or "burnt" ? Or was did it only show status conditions like pristine and ruined ? -
I LOVE all the chernarus rain .... and heres why: I didn't have a waterbottle or ANYTHING to water these damn pumpkins plants and then miraculously i hear the crack of thunder and lightning and after this sound is heard i realize and recite to myself "maybe dayz gods will be generous and have already coded in rain as a viable source of watering plants"...They did and It was a good day on skalitsy island , i've now got my secret stash house all locked up (sorry guys can't reveal it, even though it's incredibly easy to find lol. Long story short, i'm very glad this patch is out to stable, but i really hope for some new renderer improvements soon so night time can be as beautiful as it should be and so we can also get working on the zombie numbers , i didn't see one zombie (or animal for that matter) the entire 2 hours of play (but i was only on skalitsy). OVerall i like this stable patch a lot (no lags or desync yet, not even rubberbanding or losing of persistence stored items, and i'm on a persistence ON server) but i really can't wait to see the zombie and animal count go up significantly , i mean for a huge country of woods there should be much more game =), and i would love to see some skalitsy island animals =)! EDIT: By the way , pumpkins are the best fruit to eat, it brought me from orange hungry to energized after eating a whole one and drinking some water! WOOT pumpkins save lives!

Chill out Lucian .. You always act as if these small changes are permanent , yet you know this is an alpha right ? And that everything is going to change NON STOP until the game is complete . So you don't have to worry obviously devs know that PING is a big issue so they aren't always going to make us go to some other counties server just to get on a daylight server , they only change the servers to stay on night time just after a push to stable (or when they first come to experimental) and like someone else said that doesn't last Long as the server owners themselves reset it to a normal day cycle usually after a few days . And also like someone else said , with the new renderer we will have new lighting and the gamma slider will most likely be removed in game , making nighttime a more enjoyable time . Long story short : do not think anything , even servers in your area being night all the time, is going to stay permanent for the rest of the game .. Because it's not , developers want a full day night cycle on all servers when persistence is fully workng anyways and my guess is that we will see a full day in 6-10 hours of gameplay(as this was mentioned a while back as a desirable amount of time for an in game full day/night)... So unless you only play for less than an hour, when the full day night cycle for all servers is in , you will be guaranteed to see at least some day on these servers that start in the middle of the night !

I would also like to see all houses and buildings open up, and more rooms open In each building (no fake doors). I'm pretty sure this is on the long term plans though , maybe not soon but definitely eventually . -
Holy shit ! Vehicle persistence, new locations, lots of new items , heat and heating things working properly and all on stable ?? Loving it . Great work devs and whole team alike !!

Why is such a drastic increase in enterable buildings considered a good thing?

Lol what ? So you think making the world more enterable , and interactive makes the players less interactive ? Where are you getting your statistics that shows how the vanilla mod is more "player to player interactive" ? In my opinion I could NEVER GET ANYONE TO SAY THEIR FRIENDLY AND NOT ACTUALLY KILL ME RIGHT AFTER IN THE MOD . In standalone , people are friendly all over , I think you just have some weird nostalgia over dayz vanilla , because that game is SO FAR from a real survival experience and it has so little to connect with other players that it's almost laughable ... Oh ya let's join a clan and teamspeak all the time only to talk to another person when were about to KOS them ( that's dayz vanilla mod) where as dayz standalone, there's so much more to do (many more enterable buildings, better crafting, horticulture, way better animal system, and much more balanced pvp system , no stupid kill tags or death messages) and so much detail that there's no way you could say that there was better interaction in vanilla (you only could say that if you have a hard time talking to people in standalone , it's a much different interaction than typing in global chat like all dayz mod vanilla players are used to , in standalone you actually have to get out there and talk to people face to face ) ... Sure you can make a base , sure you can hunt for cars and helicopters , but when it truly comes down to the realistic feel of having to interact with others , dayz vanilla mod has no easy way to do so (the global chats desensitizes people to interaction with others because they think they can just global chat to make friends , it's much more realistic and face to face in dayz sa where as you only have proximity chat) there were hardly any open buildings so if you wanted to be safe inside a building you had to find a big group to make a base with (and that group mentality further forces you to not want to make interaction with more new players , forcing you into some KOS type personality that only trusts his clan) . So in my opinion dayz vanilla mod was unfortunately disgustingly unbalanced, especially in the pvp , survival, and player interaction areas simply because the way the game was built (cheesy unrealistic pvp system , bad communication system because of the global chat , and bad mentality towards solo players ). This conversation really doesn't matter though (in my opinion) because like I've said from the start of day standalone , the dayz mod is on it's way to it's grave , forever being held only in our nostalgic thoughts and hundreds of hours of videos recorded and put on YouTube that exclusively features pvp because that's what the mod was about , not survival or player interaction . Edit : also I have 1,300 hours on my belt , and I only stay inland going to the coast only to meet friends , and for me finding at least two dozen encounters while I am inland is a normal thing over about two days of plating (about 3 hours a day) . Now imagine the 100 player count that the devs specifically said the servers would get to soon ( so that also negates your worries that the devs don't have plans to increase player count, they are not keeping it at 40-50 for much longer ). -

Well I really like this update so far , the island in between kamenka and komarovo is pretty awesome .. I got there just as the sun set, unfortunately the damn spiral stairs started to fracture my legs and before I could get down a series of invisible hits from these dastardly steps broke my legs ... Some guy comes up and offers to help, so I follow said deucher, and he randomly hits me in the face with one of those new Lug Wrenches (awesome damage by the way it kills in one to two hits) and before I could curse his mother and his dog he out me down like the dirty dog I was . Overall , I can't wait to get on tomorrow after work and play for hours :) . Can anyone speculate on the amount of vehicles per server now ? And can anyone say anything about vehicle persistence ? -

I voted central economy, but what I really want to be addressed is persistence all over , not just vehicles , but it's all coming together slowly .. But they already said a new anti cheat and battleeye were being integrated into the experimental branch at some point on this next set of patches , so we won't need to vote for that :) ! Edit : to axerzeroon, that's not entirely true , the new renderer will be placed in it's earliest stage , sometime this quarter as it's slated on the roadmap ... So we will see some improvements , just not ALL improvements that the new renderer has to offer . until beta .
