Sweatshirts and t shirts / jackets and t shirts
blackberrygoo replied to blackberrygoo's topic in Suggestions
Oh ok thanks for clearing that up , still though light sweatshirts , jackets , long sleeve shirts of any kind , still should be able to be worn under a heavier jacket . if anyone here lives in a place where it's always snowing like me you'll know that sweatshirts and jackets can indeed be worn together(lawl) , and don't think we're rocking bare skin under the sweatshirt , cuz there is a t shirt under there gaha ( at least that's how we normals do it ;) back to work til 930 :0 ) -
can we have a more "savaged" environment (like higher grass, bushes, vegetation in general) and more chaos in the cities?
blackberrygoo replied to daisho's topic in Suggestions
This please ... Goin into the woods should be the scariest thing in the world ... IMHO I wish dean hall had modeled the map after America , it's a filthy combination of a lot of cultures around the world , has sewers legit everywhere , woods of course, and also has highways and cluster fu*k cities ... Perfect for a zombie apocAlypse haha but since we're working with Eastern Europe(specificAlly a farming district of east Europe) , dirtying up the countryside with chaos and adding some nice towns like svetlogorsk (favorite town now in experimental) should spice it up , oh and hopefully more landmarks ( like the crash site at Cherno or the ship wreck near berezino .. -
Sweatshirts and t shirts / jackets and t shirts
blackberrygoo replied to blackberrygoo's topic in Suggestions
There are three types of t shirts im pretty sure : regular slot-less tshirt you start with , t-shirt with 2 spaces of all colors you can find, and the tactical shirts with 2 spaces (I think) .. But layering in the cold is a no brainier too so hopefully they will see the new temperature system they are working on as a good reason to let us wear both t-shirt/tactical shirt and jackets/sweatshirts . -
Ill be totally ok if this is shot down seeing as it could be an unnecessary gross animation haha . But anyways my suggestion is , since there is now a fracture system in the experimental servers , there should be a further complication of breaking your bone through the skin(which of course would be an even more gruesome look and sound animation) and the steps to fix this could be : 1.) bandage I'd assume 2.) set bone back 3.) apply stitches 4.) use splint This could all play into the "shock" system as well , if your character was low on blood during the bone breaking through the skin , he wouldn't be able to do the "operation/process" himself , seeing as anymore pain would kill him or whatever the "shock" damage is supposed to do . Maybe I just like the idea too much but lemme know your ideas on it .
-
Well the "surgery" you refer to IS setting the bone back and pinning it if needed , but I get where everyone's going for , it is a lil too gruesome but could add(at least for me haha) a crazy new experience . At least lemme be able to impale myself on something ?

I like the voice chat , although it does seem to get terrible when there is any Desync , lag or if you are trying to talk while running in front of someone without looking behind you , but even then you can shout into your mic and they usually hear, it's just pretty bad when it's laggy it starts to get all choppy.

This is .... A decent proposal for balance of RPGs , good show man . I would love to see explosives of some sort In the game, obviously not heavily but just enough so that it exists in the game . cuz lets be honest eventually in the apocalypse we would decide to blow something up wether it be an enemies base or groups of zombies or whatever . And when physics makes its way into the game I also greedily expect destructible (to a point ) environment, like trees and maybe eventually rocks , so I can explode my TNT that's placed at the base of a tree while a group of people are walking by to try and spring a trap or something , awesome .
-
That would actually be pretty cool , sometimes there would be etched Russian Initials on the barrel with custom attachments/iron sights , sometimes the "pi" gun , and sometimes an old gun with some tallys on it or some shit (presumably to show kills ) that may explode upon firing (backfire ?) but please nothing that could be overpowered in any way .

Lets not even fight with the ignorant (you know who you are ) and instead ignore them , for people like that are only looking for attention ... If not then why would they say another game is better (arma 3 dayz breaking point) but yet spend all their time not playing that game but instead spend it complaining about a game that is supposedly "worse"? Get real heads if you like arma 3 dayz mod that much, go play it, don't bitch about how it has so much that standalone doesn't , which in a years time (probably less) the standalone will have vehicles , storage , barricades , throwing physics , higher player counts AND restarting loot (word by dean ~ two months ago , he said from that date that roughly 8 months from then all this would be included ). Ya there's a reason why Arma 3 Dayz breaking point mod was hardly heard about , not because it's in beta but because it , unlike standalone , threw everything it had to show in at the start , almost completely destroying its potential . For people who can't understand my stoned lingo , I'm saying there's not much more to be seen from arma 3 breaking point mod , it will just give us more guns more vehicles and stay within its "mod" boundaries . Dayz (standalone) has no limits and has clearly created a whole new direction , let alone genre of pc games( and I'm not talking about the dayz mod , it truly never felt like a survival game ). yes it's bare bones now (no vehicles, storage , fire , hunting , barricades , base building, no physics yet) , but all of the pieces are Falling into place. Some People can't realize that games like Arma 3 dayz mod are just a shadow of another game and no matter how popular , it will always be abandoned at some point for something greater. That's what standalone had done : broken off into something greater (although all dayz original mods haven't been abandoned YET), so please 12 y/o's and terrible teenagers alike, stop shitting your pants and return to the sandbox (not dayz , like the sandbox at the playground ) and stay there for another year , when you come back I'm sure this game will be for you then , seein as the only thing you people look for is content new content content I want content ...(this game's human encounters are more exciting then some games END CONTENT). And for those of you who don't fall under the category of raging twelve year olds and terrible teenagers that still believe standalone is going too slow or is a ripoff : I'm sorry that life is unfair but there were plenty of warnings about bugginess and slow progress of transition to beta , so realize that dayz has given us what there never has been : a beautiful open world survival zombie game that's both multiplayer and pay by month free , I know that's not much to some people but you should learn to count your blessings cuz one day(z) were all gonna be dead . Quote me c**ts how could you possibly make a rebuttal to that truthishness ? -

Regardless of your opinion on how the information should be shared with the public , if you're trying to touch upon that you should go to entspeaks forum post cuz there are WAY too many pages here. although I agree that the dev tracker is hard to find info , keep in mind it is named DEV tracker , to track the devs work along with progress of patches Even though it WAS originally supposed to track the patch notes and differnces of each version but I'm guessing that was somehow forgotten and eventually turned Into the dev tracker we know today . I remember it clearly , people were complaining it was too hard to find info on updates, so the dev tracker was made but it's purpose was a little diluted with personal developer work , which is very interesting IMO but others just rather would have a "tracker" dedicated to changes/patches, which is a good idea now considering the amount of people who don't have time to read through the dev's personal work/projects or go on multiple social media sites . But instead of fighting here lets go on the other thread please cuz I can read through 30 pages on break at work, but not 99 haha . -
non-night vision alternative (light up the town)
blackberrygoo replied to commanderbash's topic in Suggestions
I feel that the first thing for a group of survivors to do after collecting food water and shelter woul be to bring electricity back , seeing as how we are creatures of technology . As soon as we are safe we will start to think of "what next?" And naturally what's next is usually to bring back technology ( or at least electric light) as it makes us feel at home (most of us) . So although I've posted here before ill say again this is a good idea. electrical power plants won't be able to be used again seeing as it does take a lot of manpower to run , so I would love to see personal generators , strong enough to run a spotlight at least , so that way survivors can treat generators as if they were gold, always repairing and aquiring gas for it so you and your friends can have some light to do whatever (hunt for people, light up a construction area when building comes in , etc .). And for areas like jails (like the ones on airstrip or the new-ish police station ) or other large "themed" buildings , there would be larger scale , non-movable gas generators that do nothing but provide power to the building. So if you don't wanna build a house you can easily take over a large building and start the generator after collecting gas and repairing it so the building is lit up . Obviously this would make people stick out like a sore thumb but it's their choice to choose comfortable light over protective darkness , so there would be no "overpowered" traits to it and yet still won't be useless , seeing as larger groups of survivors could easily hold people off while in a lit up building whereas lone wolves would most likely hide in darkness so as not to be seen and taken by force /numbers. -
Making the Machete more of a "Machete"
blackberrygoo replied to Holliday (DayZ)'s topic in Suggestions
Ya definitely needs a damage boost its damn near impossible to kill something with a machete , when physics are out I'm sure the machete will be revamped if bone fractures are going to go Into stable (they currently exist in experimental), I only say that cuz I mean well who wouldn't wanna chop into someone with a machete breaking every bone In their body until death ?? -
This might be too much , or just what we need I'm not sure yet hahaha .
-
Great idea man but you have to realize this has been beaten to death already . I don't think it woul add any gameplay value other than a slight annoyance seeing as we bleed like 3/4 times after being hit by a zombie (on the new experimental servers at least ) . With a disease and temperature system coming , alon with the already implemented "sick" system , I think this would be just too much . Great idea for private hives though, but as far as I know dean hall says we (all survivors in game ) are immune to the zombie virus , so in no way should we be affected (whether it be contracting the virus , or turning into one). Dayz aftermath the mod had a similar idea , you had to get moldy pumpkin and poppy seed and crush them together to make the "zombie virus cure" and legit everytime a zombie would hit you you would need to go find this cure haha not so fun .

I would like to see stab moves , just not insta kill stabs . I for one have always wanted to see the ability to hold a swing down for a blunt object like a baseball bat so you can deliver a more powerful blow at the cost of attack speed , and this attack would have a 25% chance of being a one hit knock out , but not kill . This way instead of negotiating with someone, you just sneak up behind them and lay 1-4 hits into their skull which would most likely knock them unconcious , so you can grab their gear or just move on safely. As I'm an almost full time "hero" I like to have options , and since less than lethal weapons aren't in yet I thought blunt objects causing knockout would do the trick considering we already have the blunt objects just need more knockout percentages to them . And eventually when physics are better i can defly foresee stabbing and stuff with sharp objects without it looking cheesy .

blackberrygoo replied to rocket's topic in News & Announcements
Ok ladies must we really argue about this ? Who ever is bitching about the rate of the alpha just go learn to code , 3d design and a bunch of other shit, then make a game from scratch, then tell me how long yours will take to update from .37 to .42. Seriously any type of large scale multiplayer game like dayz is gonna take a lot of time and millions of dollars. Bohemia has that and we shouldn't be worried considering its not nearly as scandalous as EA games (battlefield 4) or as simple and boring as COD series . Count your blessings lil tykes (you know who you are ) and know tnat you're mad at it for a reason cuz you love it and can't stop playin it . but on a heavier note I'm starting to get sick of all the people thinking they know how to make these games inside and out, I don't care if you can compare the time frame of other alphas' progression to dayZ's , those are OTHER alphas/betas so realize that it's like comparing apples and oranges, they're both Fruits but for the most part the similarities end there . shit done , rant over ,commence dayz . -

FoV abuse, scatter when snapshoting, on-screen dot and zoom issues
blackberrygoo replied to FrostDragon's topic in Suggestions
FOV has NEVER been a problem for me , to me people who use this as a reason why they can't "survive" just doesn't work for me... I play FOV up AND down depending on how I'm feeling : if I don't feel like zooming I keep my FOV low in the settings so I don't always have to right click , if I feel more observant I will keep FOV settin high in the settings . Hardcore dot ? C'mon guys don't be so unimaginative if you don't like the little tiny white dot , just don't pay attention to it , it will most likely be an option to remove it later down the road , but it certainly is not "critical" . I know a lot of us are trying to help the progress of dayz but we have to realize taking away the simple stuff like FOV option , crosshairs (as small as they are already) and the zoom dayz is used to , it changes it in ways that we can or cannot predict . Dayz is already a very observation heavy game and don't get me wrong i HATE a casual gaming experience, but I believe this would just annoy people and FORCE them to play a specific way (whereas in real life some people have great vision and are always "zooming" in further than the rest , and some have such short visoon which would represent the players with high FOV...life isn't fair dayz shouldn't be either haha ). Sure fov can be abused but so can third person view so should we totally remove that ? Some say yes but for the sake of REAL realism lets say that doing this would effectively remove (or at least Piss off / annoy ) a good 25% of the dayz population . Note : I play only first person severs , I LOVE the white dot crosshair , and I use different FOVs depending on my mood , so please people I know you're trying to be proactive but sometime this is too much. Lets just ask eachother out of respect to know, that if you use lots of FOV and can see more of your hands , make note that you won't be able to zoom as far , and know if you have very little FOV (can't see your hands) then please know that you better be watching your back if you really think that 7 times zoom is worth it . And one last thing , no offense but I have never concluded that someone won a battle because they could "zoom in more than me because of low FOV" . Besides when real sniper rifles binoculars and scopes come out this zoom issue won't be a problem seein as we wil have X 15 zoom and such . Edit : the human eyes can see millions of light years away into space , but on earth we can see a maximum of 2 miles or more , so when you say the zoom is inhuman , you're only half right . No we can't "zoom" in two miles but we can focus on objects of up to about a mile away , so this zoom feature makes sense , and don't forget people you WILL realize if zoom is removed that the game will become much harder, so count your blessings for how it is now cuz it's not that bad . -
SPAWN OF LOOT AND SPAWN ZOMBIES FOR THE GAME BECOMES BORING
blackberrygoo replied to CTaPuK_OTmOpO3Ok666's topic in Suggestions
Zombies already respawn on experimental servers, and they are working on loot respawning ... Don't worry mang it's all coming BEFORE the hunting or the "machine" and anything else , they are working at it all at the same time but obviously core issues like respawning loot is first priority unless it becomes a huge issue .. -
Hallucinating while low on blood , starving and dying of thirst
blackberrygoo posted a topic in Suggestions
Now I know a lot of people would hate this suggestion , but first all I wanna say if it could be in the game it would be optional for private hives... But my suggestion is to add a vision problem when you are <200 blood , starving AND dying of thirst . With all three combined it wouldn't happen often but would make your vision blurred and colorless like normal , but mostly you would hallucinate not characters or zombies running but something more vague like shadows of just shapes , nothing you can really make out . This would further disorient people while very low on blood and high on hunger and thirst , it would also prompt them to become more selfish and cautious about food and water rationing . And lastly, it would be scary as hell to play alone and be so close to death you start to hallucinate , maybe out in the woods while its raining and thundering. -
This game is changing in an interesting way ... Was at berezino just now on a hardcore experimental server and I met and conversed with not one not two but FIVE friendlies in a row. All seperate from eachother and get this ,'one was an armed12 year old which you never see them be friendly ( no offense , I was 12 once too and honestly if I had this game then I would be a bandit too ). The point of this is to say that the mechanics of dayz standalone are changing people's attitudes of thinking dayz is some linear military shoot em up . Nothing wrong with banditry but I almost lost faith in dayz with the mod and I'm glad dayz standalone is putting in Into a dimension of survivalism it deserved years ago , as opposed to living as a military sim. So lets suggest good mechanic balancing ideas and such so that we may get out of the oppression of the way dayz mod was (like we've been doing ) . And for the neutrals out there that don't know what "side to choose" so to speak, it's more fun to be friendlly, so go out on a limb and make a friend mother tucker ;)

Just liquor , beer , cigarettes and weed (joint form ) please , no hard drugs , alcohol is bad enough let alone cocaine . We don't need the squeaky kids seeing that in game and thinking its cool they can go wild with the firstly mentioned ones , seeing as they're the least lethal (at least weed is) compared to cocaine and other narcotics . I would want the alcohol to have effects too like dizziness vomiting and double vision after enough of it . just so intersting shit can happen like If a town of survivors was celebrating after a successful raid and they were all smashed , a group of bandits just wipes em all out for lack of hand eye coordination lawl .

As the title suggests I would love to see in the near future the ability ro kick in a door that is locked or unlocked by quickly double tapping the action key while in front of a door. While being tactical and a good way to break a weak lock (when introduced ) its also a badass and flashy way to enter a house , wether it be for rendezvousing with friends or just to loot a house . Sorry if this has been suggested before I searched all weird combos of kick and door and it came up with nothing for suggestions...

Global objectives that would give a purpose in surviving
blackberrygoo replied to VonHabdekeiten's topic in Suggestions
No missions , just let us do all that stuff WITHOUT indicators or missions (like restoring power using generators , fighting a large horde of zombies or something of the like ) . As long as we have stuff to do like that we will create our OWN missions , so we can do one thing an not necessarily have to wait for another mission to pop up or whatever . This way we get the fun of tasks like this , and we get freedom .
