I've always liked the idea of having to power up a towns electrical generators so you can have lights or power in that town ... Eugen harton just recently said in a tweet (answering multiple questions at a time) that electricity WOULD eventually be in the game , so this dream is not too far off, I love this idea because it reminds me so much of resident evil 3 when you have to visit the substation and turn it back on but you have to decide whether to leave out the back door when a horde of zombies comes , or to fry them all and short circuit the electrical breakers again ... In dayz this wouldn't be an easy task and I'm guessing this area would be camped on like many of the military areas around the map because when you have electricity you have power , you can invite other survivors to your "electric powered base" where you provide them warm houses , fresh grown food , and maybe even a hot shower (lol) all the while your men are lookin for more parts to upkeep the repairs of the electric power supply (maybe even gas will be needed for generators that are smaller).

Hicks had responded to one of my questions about this , he said there is a way for us regulars to sign up , I'm guessing it's on the survivor games forums but did anyone "regular" (not a popular streamer) make it into this years games ? Or any for that matter ? I would really like this if it operated like this : ten famous streamers chosen , then a "trial casting event" is made for "regular unknowns" to basically duke it out to see which 10 out of the 20 regulars get to move onto the finals an get paired with a famous streamer . So basically there's only ten famous celebs , and ten "regular" dayz players like us , making an amazing team , or a team of disaster depending on the knowledge (and skill) of both the streamer and average dayz player ! Way better than this confused celebrity setup we have now !

Nah , that makes for someone who can rebuild society Mang lol ... Fact is we need friendlies to win this z- war , we just need to know tactics to be Extra careful , especially when trusting others and moving in high traffic areas unnoticed .

I like the idea of being able to construct one , but I think getting the parts together should take a few days of playing (maybe a few hours a day) but besides the rarity of parts , when you have all the parts and a toolbox together , it should take little over 35 -40 minutes to construct the whole thing ... Obviously you can cancel current action whenever you want so if some one is coming towards you you can be ready , but I want this task to be daunting so that not everyone and their brother has one . It should be a huge task to make one so it deters everyone from having one and that way it would be a great reward finishing one . A few setbacks should have a random chance of occurring though: •Rotor blades could become loose and essentially drop you out of the air if you use badly damaged or damaged parts •gas tanks condition determines how fast gas is used • if it's your first few times making a gyro , a number of things during constructing it could break saying something like: "your hammer has broken" All these things would balance the gameplay of it making it not a hot ticket item with everyone , but only to those who are already close to having all the parts after days of random scavenging . We need chernarus to fly , help us make this dream a reality !

Yes ! Although this ties in with "containers found around the world" meaning that each fireplace would have to be an openable container. Coding-wise that would be a drag on oerformance and server fps , I'm sure this feature is coming because many a people including myself have wondered this, but like I said it has to wait for when "containers" are added (like cupboards and cabinets , refrigerators an fireplaces all being "openable storage containers") then the game world could properly handle these things !! It's coming let's make another thread like this when containers are added to remind the devs !!

I love the idea of islands ! Ever since the prison island was added i felt like they should add a few more little ones. I think they should go even further and add maybe 1000 more meters or more of water to the south of the map so they could have a stretch of islands like the Hawaiin islands :) .

I like this Idea ! I suggested the same thing when standalone first started but with vultures instead of crows lol ! I believe the devs have talked about dead body's decaying (bodies disappear now after ten minutes as a placeholder clean up mechanic , it will be longer soon and hopefully with the decay aspect the devs talked about , crows and scavenger animals would fit perfectly if that were the case )!

Stamina system is coming , it's been said many times the running speed will be nerfed with it's addition ... Definitely need it sooner rather than later but it's not waaaaay up the priority list !

You will be able to run it. Unfortunately dayz doesn't do so well with Amd processors (and some amd gfx cards apparently) but you'll definitely be getting a "playable" fps like the rest of us (25 -30 in cities , 30-60 in woods and blank areas)... Dayz is so much fun mofuka !!

Don't be so mad man , KOS is a thing , just get used to it ! I have a feeling you're new to the game , as KOS is a HUGE problem for people who just started playing . Basically just avoid everyone , if you wanna talk to someone never talk to groups more than 2 and always keep moving while you're talking to them... If you're not new, then what the fuck lol you should know about KOS bandits ... Good luck and be careful .

I wonder if all the streamers are on a first person only server ? It would be unfair to be able to peak around corners :/ . I really like this idea anyways , I just wish there was a public sign up based on skill and not a bunch of popular streamers being picked out for being well known, so us regulars could try out .. We would wreck shit . :0!

I can't wait for these features (in this order) : base building , advanced barricading, predator animals , huntable birds and fish that roam just like other animals, fully fleshed out cooking system (no pots pans needed !), and finally I can't wait for advanced vehicles (more variety and planes/boats, maybe some helicopters). Oh and also I really can't wait for the day/night cycle to be a normal thing (with accelerated servers) and for persistence to be working100% without any server restarts every 4 hours or without any wipes on Wednesday ! That's dream dayz., but dreams only stay like that for so long until they become a reality :D

Well to put this easily 7 , that whole block of text is just purely your opinion . I think if anything the majority of people unhappy with dayz would say you are wrong about it going too fast , they would say that it goes too slow ... In reality many are finally accepting that this is truly an early access alpha , and that we are not buying the final product just yet , (technically we are just reserving it at a reduced price with the ability to help with development) so we should not assume we are going to have a "stable" experience ever (until beta / full release), more over I'm sure the developers are now regretting their decision to name the two public builds "experimental" and "stable" as it is just confusing people like yourself. Then again , if it was named something like "experimental" and "still experimental but a little bit more stable sometimes" people would still find a reason to complain ... I don't think keeping an old archaic build just for the sake of people playing more smoothly would make any sense because again , this is NOT a finished game so why would you assume going back to a more stripped down version of dayz would work ? There would still be bugs , there would still be bugs created when you snap together two systems of code (mechanics being added) which you would have to eventually do no matter how slow you develop it . You are essentially asking To scrap all progress made because you don't want to deal with the transition period that is albeit rough but needed ... Although the devs technically could make a few servers with an old version number, they would still have to introduce other systems into it eventually even when you go at a snails pace so there would be no difference except we would have to wait many more months for the full release , which is pointless if it has no benefits to it whatsoever .. So when you say "go slower to achieve bug less and perfectly stable builds" I have to remind you that it is impossible to do that in an open early access alpha with your development build process in mind or the devs , but it's safe to say the development process that is undergoing in dayz is the right one seeing as it has more potential already as an early access alpha than any other game I've played all my life ... And the fact that we take one step forwards and two back, well that is game development for ya my friend , you said it yourself GTA 5 took 4 years (in a closed internal development course , which usually takes longer as they don't have as many "testers") and regardless of how rich/well manned your company is, a decent MMO (or survival game) only takes so much man power and money , so what I'm getting at is I know dayz / Bohemia has plenty of both - and really you just have to learn to live with open public development of alpha games - at least if you want to play this game before it releases you do ... So a word to the wise : don't get frustrated with the development and think the devs are somehow pulling our chain, or are incompetent because it's clear to see that with all these people so interested in an early access alpha, and with all the detail and content that's in an unfinished game, that these devs know what their doing .. Of course criticism is welcome but to think they don't know what they are doing even with simple things like the process of development in open alphas, (which has been the same for a very long time mind you , internal build -opt in [experimental] - public build [stable] that's how It is and how it should STAY!) is wrong .

That sounds right , so really only thing that changes is where and how loot spawns ... I liked the new spawning system (in which you could find mp5s in police stations and police gear there too) so I hope it doesn't take long toget back to it !

Yes. Everything about this, yes . We need a backstory for the putbreak when we get closer to 1.0 , I think back story's really bring people in , it doesn't have to be something super specific just something nice and scary like the story above ! Plus beans !

Yess !! And you know , the first construction vehicle in the picture is already in game as a static object at that severograd mining operation (NE of severograd) all we need to do is convince the devs to make them drivable .. Just think of the possibilities for construction purposes , or if you don't want to go that far it still would be a decent vehicle to find when you have nothing else as it would protect you from zombies (and some go tops 30 mph) .

I'm not sure how you missed it, but devs have stated the loot isn't as intended ... Certain servers being completely empty is a bug with private servers (and apparently some public?) and the devs had said they are still working on a fix ... As for public servers with no loot , the central global economy system was literally JUST put in , so please don't assume that this Is their end goal for loot ... It in time , WILL respawn correctly (even on the coast) but it will be somewhat scarce like now , just not THIS scarce .. So for all you forum noobs out there know this : loot was never intended to be non - existent , private servers are bugged , and the central economy system is in it's infancy so please bear with it and log any weird bugs on the bug tracker, loot will get better :) !

Already been talked about by devs a long time ago , salt was talked about for lone wolves and refrigarators (ya a little weird) by dean hall for storing meat at camps ... I think an old wooden ice box (first made refrigerators) would be a great idea , you just need to find ice ... Maybe if they add salt and bags of ice the games food storage would get way more interesting :) ... But I agree we don't need a damn pot to cook a steak , just find a nice big rock and throw it on the hot coals , throw your burger or steak on that bad Larry after it heats for ten minutes and you have a cooked steak after 25 more minutes (of course the time would be shortend in game ).

Yes it's still a go , sorry the private servers are still requiring a fix (I'm hoping it comes this Monday -Wednesday) for loot , eugen harton on twitter said they were still working on a fix so as soon as it comes the loot will respawn properly again! But there is loot , very scarce though , about 6 of us are pretty well geared and still finding more loot but it's spread out pretty well all over chernarus , so if you're not looking to comb over a wasteland wait for the fix to loot up !

My groups 5 tents set up for a party in a private sever have all survived , we packed up a bunch of stuff before Wednesday but the wipe didn't even erase any of the remaining items in the tents , so I'm not sure if it's like this on all servers , I hear some still eat tents randomly ... To OP: this is a good idea , just be careful of those veggie bandits !!
