My friend has a law rocket launcher in his closet and it's still active ... Rockets for it I'm sure would be hard to find but to be honest I truly believe they will add some more explosives soon .. It's my entirely unrealistic seeing as some civilians even collect these weapons and besides that I really liked the addition of the grenades and unless you find a glitcher with grenades , they don't really change the gameplay in a negative way. if anything it's going to be a positive thing to take out large vehicles that deuche bag clans are going to have in the beta :) -

As a volunteer firefighter, I would love to see more R.P/Kits with all the firefighting gear. (As well as more functionality)

Lol you and that damn tent , I was pretty confused when they first saw you because one of the other devs was saying something like "it's just some guy with a tent" and thought a battle was gonna go down until hicks checked your pulse lol ... You guys should play first person servers sometime and battle me and my group :)

Holy crap. I'm so excited to see duct tape used for something , and the best part is it's being used for two different uses we all wanted from the beginning : Muting annoying prisoners and restraining people with it . Also what is this "construction" listed under the Design section? And one more query : is the ability to break down doors already in game ?? If no one answers I will post in an hour and a half when I get home from work .., so excite .

You're being too general , by your logic I can say what you are doing ( predicting the Zombies one move because you know he won't do anything else) is abusing game mechanics, you're counting on the zombie to do that same move over and over again and taking advantage of that small window where you know exactly what to do everytime (in your eyes this should be abusing as well , in any other persons eyes we see this and circling around the opponent as real tactic and not abusive what so ever , I mean it's laughable to think circling around something is "cheating" as we can do this to any slow and stupid opponent easily in real life without it being able to hit us simply because were smarter and faster) . So id just drop this argument because the true answer lies in what others have said : zombies and melee are still a work in progress but regardless of that any way you can take down a zombie is a legitimate way ... The only "abusive tactic" against zombies (lawl) would be using glitches and cheats against them , not a simple movement that anyone at anytime can do , just because the zombies aren't responsive enough to hit us most of the time while we are circling doesn't mean a thing because like I have stated earlier in this post and others have as well is that the zombies are a WIP and soon will (hopefully) have the ability to attack and move at the same time making your complaint against all people using this "abusive tactic" null and void seeing as we will still be circling them because that's just what you do when your fighting something and don't want to be hit, but at least they will be attacking more to ease your mind of this game being too unfair to zombies lol . Oh and one more thing : zombies in every movie and game including this one , are never meant to be a threat alone. The reason being is because humans are , yes you guessed it smarter faster and stronger which enables us to maneuver around them quicker and also enables us to deduct when and where the zombies are going to attack so either way , whether you prefer circling the opponent or back stepping after predicting their attacks like you do , none of them are abusive tactics , just tactics .

Wow now that is the funniest thing I've heard all day herro, so on those grounds we are always abusing their ai no matter what we do to evade them( you can do the same thing by backing up when they attack so how would you like these battles to happen , only while standing?)? Also circling the other person in a fight happens in boxing and any type of martial arts , are we abusing ai there ? No it's just a way to keep quick on your toes and take advantage of the incorect swing the opponent (zombie) does . when they finally make zombies ai more challenging we will still be side strafing them to get a shot to their head as this is the easiest way to combat someone attacking you head on ; side step and attack, simple and efficient. I would love to see ,after all the server lag Desync and zombie problems are all worked out , some type of blocking or counter attack system though because although we aren't "abusing zombie ai" like Herro seems to think , we are having somewhat boring battles because of the lack of some type of counter/blocking system ,impact sounds , and zombies only having one predictable move but like I said it's all gotta wait for the other systems to be robust enough to even support exciting stuff like that, but it's coming I guarantee it :) .

Ya people are ridiculous , dayz is literally the only multiplayer game that has excited me with it's mechanics and ambiance (not to mention groundbreaking player/ player interaction) in the last ten years , I've been addicted to it ever since dayz breaking point came out ... And I haven't even been able to get that feeling from arma 2 because I'm not too big into military games so zombie game works perfectly for me .. But anyways not wanting this company to multiplatform is a gross selfish injustice . Why wouldn't you want the console gamers to see the greatness that is the Dayz Shakes , that is the mini-convulsions in your hands after you win a battle caused by some misunderstanding in a conversation with a survivor you just met ? Or to know the fear of being that one member of your group left without a broken leg or unconcious , having to traverse elektro alone searching for sticks in the woods or epinephrine in the hospital .. Point is you'd have to be a selfish prick to not want all of console gamers to experience these feelings we get from dayz , or an arrogant one if you think you're smart enough to foresee some downfall of this game simply because other companies that have failed , save this company the grief and save your breath until this game is at least in beta because it will not be abandoned , WE ALL KNEW the game was going to be on ps3 and xbox from the beginning even before alpha was announced (it was their plan as Long as "alpha sold enough copies" ) so stop thinking like this was some dirty backstab from out of the blue , we all knew about it since December or something.

I would really love to know who it was that died at green mountain alone ... Kinda gives you chillZ :) I can't wait for horticulture Lockpicking/ barricading and of course vehicles and bases . This games gonna be so much more epic in the coming months than it is already .

I'm not a crazy guy , but I loved the cannibalism in Dayz Aftermath (a highly underrated now dead mod , it was what standalone will be in a few months, it was realistic, well balanced and had a great base building system but I digress ) After killing someone (which fights in this mod were rare and adrenaline pumping because items were scarce so you used any resource you could) you could chop them up with a hunting knife and extract "human meat" which was half the value of cow meat so it wasn't overpowered but it definitely helped as that was the first mod I died of starvation in many times so given the last experimental build of .50 I would say that I would welcome cannibalism to save myself from starvation , but like others have said eating raw human meat a lot should result in shakes and possibility to contract a disease everytime you eat it raw just so people aren't running around eating everyone else for fun .

Oh My God . Agathor has shed light on our ignorant dispositions may we thank him with a thousand deaths cAused by pvp because were so afraid of being spine-breaking-one-shotted by zombies ! No come on you guys in 800 hours of play I've only experienced a one "one hit kill" by a zombie and that character wasn't even alive for Long .. Just listen to all the posts in this thread of bone boys and smash stating that it's still a work in progress and unless you've been affected by this more than 5 times I wouldn't worry .. Live long playAs and don't let the man and his "informational" videos scare you as ALL Of these mechanics will change soon enough making most of these videos an irrelevant blast from the past :0 !rocklobster. -
I would love to be able to grow trees but it should defly take a while Maybe just a bit longer than two weeks and they should be hard to acquire seeds for the fast growing trees only because I could see a group of people over growing areas of certain servers :0 .. But there will definitely be more love to the tree animations and physics because after all dayz devs are all about animation detail .. I would like to see a tree felling system like The Forest , you just equip an axe and chop away until it falls , but id expect there to be better physics applied to the tree in dayz because the fallen trees in the forest roll away at like 25 miles per hour lol ! One last thing : tree forts for the win ! I would love making a fire up in a tree cabin elevated twenty feet above the ground !

This ^^ all my real life friends won't play dayz either (like the OP has stated , because they think it's a walking simulator lol) and so I've been lone wolfing for 800+ hours (and have found 10 friends I now play on steam with) , it gets easier when you learn to communicate like said above.. but also if you feel threatened by newly found members just ditch them because communicating is great as it gets many friendlies to come together but sometimes you find the backstabbers (and also very bad partners lol ) who either leave you when things are getting rough or who kill you when you find an akm they've been looking for :0 ! So Long story short go out on a limb and try communicating to a bunch of people , some will respond with KOS and others will want to communicate back :) just make sure you have the drop on them .. -

Etiquette around people sitting by a fire?

I would not do that lol and I'm sure plenty others wouldn't either .. There's way more fun experiences to be had if you have the guts to approach a fire with survivors at it ... Personally I would watch for just a minute or two to make sure there's noone watching in the bushes , then id creep up in their blind spots and depending on the mood I'm in , keep my gun up yelling something like " friendly don't pull out guns and I won't fire and I'll put it down " or if I'm in a lazy mood id Probly just walk up to them and sit down while pronouncing friendly lol , the former is probably the smarter choice though Haha. -
the bow is terrible at anything longer than melee range

I hate the bow and have to agree but like Gannon said it will definitely get better , all early added weapons have seen their ups and downs but eventually get greatly improved. And that brings me to the crossbow ; I actually like it but the damage definitely needs a boost , it takes about 2-3 shots in the chest to kill someone at close range with it .. I've killed 3 people with crossbows 2 of them when the crossbow used to kill in 1-2 shots anywhere and the last when the crossbow was "nerfed" to what it is now (which I'm sure will change again) so it's not completely useless like the now and arrow Is right now .. -
Did any one pick up on this : Design: Advanced melee combat string table ^^ I wonder what this is ?? It's intriguing ! ;) can't wait for horticulture barricades and vehicles ... Also we need to hear about them wolves and bears !! It would make for a lot of people to make use of private shards as well for when that comes for the people who love PVE :0 !

Sandbox, "innovative" or "Undeveloped"

Yes some people would rather be pointed in some random direction and told to kill a bunch of people but what's the point in that ? Gamers put hours into beating games to experience all of their content but when you're just grinding objectives you get incredibly bored and hardly immersed which is why mostly all console games end in mediocrity especially if there's no multiplayer . In a game like skyrim it's a large enough "open world/objective linear game"( meaning you can do many different quests or just blow it off completely and run around killing ) so that it's entertaining for longer than the average linear game , but still after weeks of playing we can still safely say "ok I've played everything in this game now" (unless you play skyrim modded of course , which is highly recommended). So to avoid this you have to do what dayz did and take your time to make it detail oriented and very much so player involved instead of story involved (with multiplayer of course !) , so that instead of whizzing through a story line we have infinite amount of fun as long as we can find something to do , and with the new features coming we will never run out of things to do .. In a game like Dayz, especially in the state it's in now which is a half complete alpha , many people miss the point in the greatness of this game : it's attention to detail and beauty but most importantly it's encounter mechanics .. In no other game will you be sporting a gun and worrying about your characters well being. In all other shooters or "survival sims" there are no intense moments that pump up your adrenaline as hard as dayz does .. Now mix that with all the features already discussed and promised like zombie hordes, barricades , construction of shelter, vehicles and vehicle repair and you have the perfect apocalypse survival sim / open world sandbox. When all of this including optimization is complete we will have an amazing atmosphere built from the very simplest of mechanics that are still not utilized by other games (no health bar, easy to die and high adrenaline fire fights due to the "perma death" mechanic of losing all loot upon death) and advanced mechanics (horticulture , working food chain of animals , locking/barricade system, construction system, vehicle repair and maintenance) that although some are in other games , they still won't match the feel of the same mechanics in dayz simply because dayz took it's time to make the gameplay so much more immersive , intense , realistic , and detailed oriented than the dayz mod or any crappy linear objective based game out there . Sandbox is the next generation of gaming , I really hope ps4 and Xbox One learn from games like dayz and start to develop ALL games for those consoles as a sandbox mmo (or at least just sandbox ) .. As long as you have a good base theme for the game (like apocalypse) and a great attention to detail to make the game as life like as possible you can have an open world objective-less game that's totally sandbox , that's something that I think the game industry (more or less) is realizing must be done to appease gamers now adays which is great because I haven't played an Xbox or playstation game in years simply because I can't do whatever I want in them .. -
Hmmm do like I do when you don't know if you should kill or not : shoot him in the leg then circle around him telling him if he takes out a weapon he's dead , If he doesn't take one out then I usually make a new friend :)

We don't spawn in underwear? That's only when you get that spawn in vybor ... All my spawns have been fully clothed with jeans and a tshirt except for my "naked and afraid in vybor" spawns .

Also some servers have been looted like crazy while others , not so much .. Me and a friend looted two servers for five hours, the first was a very lootful server where we found everything we needed (attachments we found at smoking dynamo helicopter crashes. One near the green Mountain fields which was a scope for an m4 and another long range scope for a moisin at a garage, the only others we found on that server were pistol flashlights and weapon flashlights) The second server sucked , playing on it for 2 hours only looting the west and northwest we yielded : nothing but new clothes and some beans and bacon LOL ! So some servers suck for loot at the time you go on , but attachments definitely are more rare , I would say they probably changed the location and reduced the spawns of things like :red dot sights for pistols and m4's, and those awesome iron sights for m4's. My best guess is that you will have best luck finding red dot sights and scopes for automatics at helicopter crashes(which seem more rare now coincidentally?) seeing as two days ago I found an m4 with damaged scope near it , 4 10 rnd m4 clips , and a flashbang grenade all at one crash near green mountain .. It was amazing :) Tl;dr : my theory is that heli crashes were purposely cut down in spawn rate because all the good stuff like attachments , m4 spawns and grenades are now spawning more frequently at these sites but maybe that server was just lucky!
