I used to think just like you OP , getting very frustrated every time someone would slay me in silence when I literally had nothing , or when someone would fake friendly and murder me as I dropped food for them ... I've learned my lessons and I now live with the experience from them . Keep up that friendly attitude because eventually you will have many good experiences as you will control situations easier , but remember every death is an opportunity to learn and better yourself. If you died by a silent killer , one that you never saw or even heard, then your lesson would be to pay more attention (because you can always do better no matter how good you are at sneaking or observing) . If you were killed by a friendly faker , then your lesson is to never turn your back on someone you don't know unless you know them from real life , and to never trust anyone unless they've killed for you already .. And lastly if you've been taken captive and murdered slowly , you know next time to either try and play their game so you cAn Leave with just a couple broken legs ,or on the other hand you could learn how not to give the torturers satisfaction by running away in the first place either forcing them to shoot you dead so you can get a quick respawn , or by actually getting away . As said by others above me , there are so many people in the world that do bad to others for their own amusement , but the only way to fight these types in such an open environment is to always change and improve the way you play because the bandit KOSers have the edge in not having to listen to morales, yet we heroes have the better edge , which is the inner strength to avoid cowardly actions like murdering someone for beans , ammo, or fun which ultimately makes you better because you practice not only long range shooting, but close combat / communication skills (because you're not just shooting people in the back from afar all the time , so you get more general experience instead of just experience in sneaking and killing )!

I thought it was five spawns when it was on experimental branch , and I could have sworn when they pushed to stable they said there was 7 spawns ... So if I am right about that then it's 7 spawns across 70 possible locations as opposed to 5 spawning across 18 different locations ... But maybe it still is five , and now across 70 (as that's what dayztv seems to think on the v3s map, but I swear I saw the up to 7 in the .52 stable patch notes). Regardless , best places to find them are in the west , but best places in the east to find them (which won't be as often as they spawn in the west for some reason) in my opinion are svetlojarsk, krasnostov and staroye ! I've found a v3s at each of these spots at least once in the past 2 weeks . I Honestly can't wait til vehicles persist , that was my favorite feeling in the mod , Having to upkeep a vehicle and basically live out of it because it persisted on server reset :) .

This actually happens to me a lot , and once even happened while I had all the doors locked to the 5 story office building . I had just locked the doors (including the roof door) and then put my back to the corner with the roof door to point my gun at the ladder .. I was expecting someone to eventually come up the ladder , but as I was waiting for a friend to arrive I hear footsteps and before I can turn around I hear an axe hit a door (must have been the one behind me I locked) and then another axe sound and the "you are dead" . so it's definitely possible someone logged in behind the OP and axed him , and the guy complaining of a "hacker" with broken legs could have just been a coincidence being attacked by someone else .. But then again it doesn't matter we all know the hackers exist but I know for sure they aren't as big as some people say (8 times a week come on man you must be playing on the hackers home server ! ) but good story Mang I love hearing about peoples adventures, especially if they aren't KOSers , keep it up !

Raid on small Kozlovka under cover of the night!

Wow that was just the tits , keep up the good work and the good aim mate ! -
Definitely Desync .... The other day I was chased by two bandits in gorka , I didn't know there was two at first , so the first shoots at me after I ran away (as I'm no bandit but I can tell their kind a mile away so naturally I just wanted to get outta there seeing as all I needed was a truck!) and I end up stupidly running into the one story brick building with a dead-end bar . Before I stick myself moronically into a corner with no way out I first look out the window and see the first bandit and just pepper his dumb ass with many many sporter bullets (21 to be exact about 4 miss) so I reload , he zig zags into the building and I put another 11 in his chest as he comes around the bar and starts to axe me , I struggle to take out my shotgun as I knew he should have been dead by now (and I should have as well after about 5 axe strikes) ... I finally take out my shot gun and put one into his chest , he goes down into UNCONSCIOUS state instead of dead (wtf mate ? 32 sporter rounds and a shotgun blast to the chest?!) and while I take my melee out to finish him off I just give a quick look to the right where I see yet another bandit honing down his sights towards me where it all ends .. So through that long story I found out this patch delivers a LOT of Desync that can save your life or really screw you over in the end like it did for me and almost for you (original poster) good thing your client caught up with the Desync before your guy bleed out ! But anyways this was all on zap private hive 1.

Ya that doesn't look like dupers considering one of the tents is badly damaged and there not a million guns in each backpack (I assume), but the only thing that worries me is how long did it take them to find all those mountain backpacks ? I hardly see those anymore at all so if anything they are just duping the back packs (or you just found a massive clans base , either way good job , leave a note if you definitely know they weren't dupers ! ).

Yes I think they will make it as real as possible, dean hall mentioned that he liked the dead lingers barricading system (albeit still extremely WIP, the barricading system is exactly as described above , a free form board and nail style barricading). I think that would be a no brainier , so this way people with crowbars or sledge hammers (or chainsaws if it's just wood) can spend some time to bust down barricades they find around chernarus, and when zombies receive their new Ai (hopefully this month ? :) ) they will attalck the barricades making for a crazy ass time .. Can't wait for barricading to become more robust and hordes , I want to record my characters slow demise due to the increasing horde surrounding me, inside of the conveinance store all boarded up or maybe the three floor school with the gun spawn :) .

I think what they mean is , they are finally taking us community up on our suggestion. ... Which is to add the ability to spray paint rags to make arm bands or enable us to (what I would like to see) sew custom made (or Pre made and found) patches on certain types of clothing .. Just so you can identify people in your group ... At least this is what I hope for and I have no evidence to back this up but it seems like the only sensible solution for such a realistic game .

I personally think they will make it very well, and most likely mirror the PC version .. I mean the ps4 is already more powerful than my friends laptop (and he plays dayz at 20 fps :) ). So I think the ps4 can handle most that the PC does in terms of standalone , but maybe will need little tweaks like lowering the max distance for shadows and maximum amount of trees rendered in the distance (of course not too much to look barren from far off) . And as others have said you can definitely get a whole control scheme for dayz onto a game controller , you just have to be willing to break away from standard control schemes that we are all used to from console games (as there are like 3X the amount of key bindings in dayz than on an average console game) .. All doable concepts , just never performed well by others , as said before some company's like the ones of payday , can't make a good transition to console but I think that's due to the original games release structure itself .. Payday had dlc and was finished (but yet not "finished"), to make more money like normal console games do , as far as I know dayz will not have any dlc, instead act like normal PC games (most likely there will just be free updates after 1.0 release) as the developers wanted a one time purchase system (as in buying it after release for $60 like normal games and Having all the content that the PC buyers got for purchasing early access ) so at least that aspect of the transition won't be messed around with seeing as this was what they originally said many times in the beginning if standalone sold enough copies that it would receive a port to console platforms but receive all the same content ... regardless of that my point is dayz developers are fervent to keep their view of the game unsoiled , and they will see to it that the game doesn't get watered down through the transition in any way !

Has a lack of UI actually decreased immersion in DayZ?
blackberrygoo replied to scriptfactory's topic in General Discussion
We do , but the direction of the game in terms of immersion isn't governed by the different scopes of immersion that all these different people want .. Basically the developers have an ultra realist view of the game and anything that adds extra tags or UI will just go against that viewpoint , sure it will help the handful of people like yourself that don't want to be so immersed , but for the rest of us that would be a total game ruiner .. and id say if you want a crazy HUD and more UI and tags over strangers heads, then to check out h1z1 in four days , as that game openly advertises a more arcade-like gameplay (not much immersion because of tags , huge crafting menus that should be more IMpromtpu, and other strange things that a normal human eye would never see).I guess there could be some servers that choose to have some options like name plates and advanced UI options but honestly I would rather see the opposite : hardcore servers that introduce even more realism , like headgear obstructing vision or not being able to join a specific server for a set amount of hours after dying to create more of an immersive and realistic feel . I ultimately feel like this game needs to have one direction for immersion (the direction it's going basically), and not try to please everyone , at least not now because there are plenty of other things to work on but when we get out of alpha I'm sure there will be talk of "dulled down realism servers" especially for the more casual crowd that's definitely going to be playing this game when it gets to beta (as there will be little to no frustrating game breaking bugs that usually deter the "casual" crowd ). Edit : I like soul firez idea , remove the hunger and thirst indicators for sounds like an empty stomach gurgling , or your character smacking his lips when he's thirsty , but OP , what exactly about the user interface don't you like ? -
Has a lack of UI actually decreased immersion in DayZ?
blackberrygoo replied to scriptfactory's topic in General Discussion
Ya I don't agree with this at all , first person shooter fanatic critics from dice decided to pretend like they knew how to make an immersive survival game , immersion doesn't come with HUDS or UIs , immersion comes because you actually feel like you're in the game ... And what confuses you about the current system ? If you're hungry , you're inventory (and text messages in the bottom left) tell you you are hungry (because we obviously can't have our real stomachs rumble when our in game characters are hungry, so this is the next best thing). Everything is pretty self explanatory and like said above adding tags to people or more UI all over the place just destroys immersion completely. I play on first person only Servers and I always can tell when my charater Is sticking out of hiding spots , simply because I know how long/ wide my character is (mostly because I only play on first person view so I get used to the feeling , switching between first and third person is what really disorientates you). In my opinion the only thing I would ever want to change that helps people "differentiate" from each other is customizable faces .. That way you can recognize certain faces , but honestly immersion is going down a good path in this game , to be completely immersed we need sound effects of movement, spatial awareness (which again happens when you don't disorient yourself by switching from 1pp to 3pp) and as much realism as possible , adding more HUD or UI or tags over heads would just be a horrible move for such a beautifully immersive and realistic game . -
Woah , i think this thread just attracted two hardcore KOS bandits :) ... Regardless of what you do man , don't log out , that's what these KOSers think they have over us sensical people ; they don't care about the game , or their lifetime in the game , all they want to do is kill pixels , fortunately for us though, that usually makes them easy targets to kill when they are not with their cowardly KOS group, seeing as they are easily tricked for their lust for blood ! My suggestion to you is to knock out the first person that's geared and comes towards you ,(as running away from a full auto group is usually not gonna work, and you normally run into one guy and then the group comes a minute later) run in circles around the group of people if they are definitely going to kill you (just to get some shits an giggles, the hardcore KOS guys get super frustrated if you make them doubt their shooting skills lol) .. But ultimately , keep frustrating those little bitches any way you can besides logging man , cuz you and I and everyone other real man here knows that to be friendly takes balls , to "get the jump on someone " and KOS them , takes cowardice, but if you log out you'll be just as much of a coward as the KOSers ! Just laugh in their face as you die and shrug it off and respawn !

This story is a great story to counter those who believe that friendly interactions don't exist between strangers in this game ... And it was it berezino ... Fucking berezino ! Good stuff though . -
Opinions on teamspeak and DayZ SA?
blackberrygoo replied to Death By Crowbar's topic in General Discussion
I'm just gonna throw my opinion in there once more lol , ALL WE NEED are new servers with this "open Mic at all times" functionality that way people who visit these Special servers are there for that purpose so they WONT be trying to get around it ... It's that simple , just make a new server configuration for admins to allow their servers to always be open microphoned.. unless they(someone who wants to use 3rd party software in these servers) somehow have another computer next to them just to teamspeak up , then there's no way around this ... Unless you make a script or some hack to bypass it but again with my idea of making special servers for open mic , why would anyone try that when they come to this server solely for more realism ? The only people comin on these servers to just bypass the one thing that makes the server different would be idiot trolls so that doesn't matter ..This way everyone wins , people who want to turn this feature on can do so but it would say so in the description of the server , and people who don't like this idea just avoid these servers ! We don't need to make some crazy restriction on 3rd party software , we don't need people saying "nope it can be done because all servers don't need that" , all we need is the Option for server owners to make their server "open microphone" and we need people mature enough and into the concept enough to play on these servers , that's it ... No huge changes to the game and this doesn't disrupt all the big clans that don't care to use the in game communications !!!! It doesn't hurt the people that want it and it creates a whole new challenging, more realistic world . I really don't see why this wouldn't be a good idea , we all wanted first person only servers and they made it happen, I think we should (everyone that likes the more realistic feeling) start to push for an option for open micced servers , it would be such a different change and many would like it , and like said before , won't hurt anyone's play style who doesn't like it becAuse it will be on seperate servers (hosted by players who choose to enable this option). Edit : to pillock , that actually would be the best idea (everyone using radios Ingame ) I'm always on a radio but nobody ever responds :( ! -
Opinions on teamspeak and DayZ SA?
blackberrygoo replied to Death By Crowbar's topic in General Discussion
^^ No no no, the only real answer is having new and seperate servers , because like alpha dog meat says there is ALWAYS ways around shit like that ... WE JUST NEED NEW SERVERS WITH AN OPEN MIC , certain players would come to those servers like me and many others, and the ones that don't like that idea ,WONT PLAY ON THOSE SERVERS ! Problem legitamitely solved lol , we just need to all Agree on this and get the devs working on it :) ! -
Opinions on teamspeak and DayZ SA?
blackberrygoo replied to Death By Crowbar's topic in General Discussion
I just told you how it would work :) read the rest of my post and you'll realize I suggested something that doesn't even block third party software . The idea is only special servers would make it so no matter what you are always talking over direct , so no matter if you wanna use teamspeak or not , you're talking into direct whevever you make noise into the mic... Of course it would be annoying if casual players used these servers as most of them wouldn't like the open mic , and would most likely abuse it .. but for those of us that can control our Insane mouth breathing and that are into ultra realism, these servers would be awesome because no matter what it's like you're in the apocalypse : every conversation can be heard , if you have a Traitor in your midst , on these servers, he can no longer "magically call" his clan up when he knows you've all got your guard down ... No more squeakers coming up to you, but silent to each other , planning like squeakers do.. On this server you talk out loud at all times unless you're physically next to your parter IRL, so no more silent planning ... In my opinion the best parts of apocalypse movies or books , is that suspense the characters feel when they need to be absolutely silent for one reason or another.. Maybe because they just infiltrated an enemy base and the group has to sneak silently through , or maybe it's the other way around and you have just heard foot Steps downstairs in your new survivor home ... Sure if you all had teamspeak you could just coordinate an attack and win just like that , but to really FEEL the suspense you need to make it as realistic as possible and make it challenging as well , so instead of being a wizard telepathically communicating , you are forced to stay absolutely silent and hope to hell your parter is as ready as you Are , or whisper out a plan fast and as quiet as you can when you hear someone breaking in ... Regardless me and a friend that always play together play this way , whenever we talk we just leave our mics open , we like it this way and I'm sure a lot of you teamspeak users would like it too if you gave it a chance (but you have to truly be interested in a challenge , if you're simply thinking this is just more frustration then these servers definitely wouldn't be for you) and these servers wouldn't even interfere with all the other servers , they would be there simply for a more realistic server (and other realistic features could be added like head gear obstructing view when worn) and it wouldn't affect all you die hard teamspeak Users at all considering these would be seperate servers ! Edit : I have no trouble at all talking with strangers over the in game direct chat , and I never have unless the other person is blasting music or has a shitty mic and I've had hundreds of encounters with randoms . If special servers were to be made for hardcore realism and included an open mic feature , everyone would be happy , the ultra realists and lone wolves could hop on these realistic servers to play a little bit more fairly , and the rest of the community that like teamspeak stay on the regular 1st and regular 1st/3rd person servers(so this way there would be realism 1st , realism 1st/3rd servers , and regular 1st person , regular 1st /3rd person like there are now ). -
Opinions on teamspeak and DayZ SA?
blackberrygoo replied to Death By Crowbar's topic in General Discussion
I really wish there were some hardcore servers with the use of third party software disabled , maybe if the microphone was always activated on these servers (instead of having to press a button to talk) that way it wouldn't be "invasive"' to peoples computers. It would be irritating finding the guy playing music as loud as possible while playing, but I feel that won't happen often and for the people trying to go for ultimate immersion like myself and others it would be awesome to be able to configure servers in such a way . Maybe these servers would be further seperated by the others by, for one , having changes like helmets and headwear blocking vision when worn and other changes small but immersive like that.. The second way to seperate it would be to be named "hardcore"'servers again (or immersion servers but I think hardcores better because it was the original). We could have hardcore 1st person , hardcore 1st/3rd person (again these servers would just have all immersion changes turned on by default) and regular 1st person , regular 1st/3rd person .. That would be worth it in my opinon , and I would definitely rent my own server if it had a lot of things like above added :) ! -
Hell ya man ! Now that's the feeling I'm looking for , I definitely wanna find more camps , after work today I think I'll do just that and really take in the feeling lol maybe even stay there relaxing til the owner comes . Good dayz karma for the last part too , only rob known bandits haha !
-
Lol nice , but on a more serious note , I cannot wait until this persistence tent thang is figured out , I really want to see more camps in the wild !!
-
Ya my friend found one just two nights ago and placed it on his moisin (didn't know that was possible) !
-
Awesome . I've only ever found one tent set up by another survivor in standalone .... It was empty lol.

New map in the future?...whats the rumours?
blackberrygoo replied to svisketyggeren's topic in General Discussion
Sorry if this is unkind , but why are you on the forums if you're never going to play again ? Go make maps for arma 3 bro ;) ... -
Remember guys you gotta grab your tents ( or at least your stuff in them ) every Tuesday night for now so they don't get wiped !
-
Persistence is definitely needed ... Trying to keep dayz in this state would be a travesty , and honestly this thread seems more of a passive aggressive attack at the state of the game ... "The game will never be out of alpha because it's Made too much money " . Why? What makes you believe that ? Regardless , persistence , despite the Problems it's having now , will be great in the end and I can already see it being great now. A friend and I have two different characters going, one on a persistence on and one on a persistence off , and honestly were having more fun on the persistence ON server simply because we don't get looted to capacity in twenty minutes , or even an hour ... It takes a while to properly gear up and when we find enough loot we just wait in one of our favorite towns when the server is half full to full , and just start making farms and dropping the food in various houses around the town , it's fun to see that most of it actually stays after restarts and it's exciting to see a real apocalypse feel rather than just spawning in finding an m4 at the nearest airfield and killing everything we see like what happens on persistence off servers simply because the OFF server has an easier feel and it's much less of a fun experience when it's too easy like that, not til mention all the deuchebag server hoppers that plague persistence off servers !
