Why the HELL would they assume we want “beta” without all the features originally promised ? They are literally turning from devs of the year to biggest jokes of the early access gaming community . They are forcing all these deadlines for beta which forces them to remove more and more features , is this really all for the console peasants ? Didn’t you developers PROMISE US more than a year ago that console development would NEVER TAKE PRECEDENT OVER THE PC VERSION ? Didn’t you say that we would see the pc version RELEASED FIRST? I guess thats just another broken promise from this dev team . Now I know why so many die hard fans have left the forums and turned into Dayz haters ; the passion from the devs is gone and now all they want to do is finish the game as quickly as possible so they can appease the console people. This isn’t the dayz that I bought back in December of 2013 , and this isn’t the dayz that I want to support .

No need to discuss dayz anymore - the scum is here , and it’s breathing fresh air into this dried out old survival genre .. let’s hope dayz kicks it into high gear to get their shit done , they’ve been working far too slowly for the past year and I think it’s due to their greed of wanting to finalize the console versions far too soon .

Life doesn’t wait bud , people do . -
It sure is a game bud . An early access game in beta - can we please stop referring it as “not a game” because despite what the devs keep repeating it IS A GAME . Any other game in this state refers to itself as a game , so please , let’s stop this madness before you people get too drunk on your own fumes .

Scum is going to be so bomb , and unfortunately for the zombie scene will most likely have a lot more content than dayz when it drops sometime this August . I really hope the dayz devs pick up the pace after this stressful ass long ass wait for this one little patch that’s going to put us right back to the amount of content we had a year ago on the old engine -_-. -

We’ve had plenty of experimental and stress test branches in which all we were testing was crashes and database lock ups ... and the builds went quicker when the public helped , even if it was frustrating and seemed futile with all the crashes . -

Hence the word “mistake” my friend, they made a mistake, and are “paying” for it . We all knew the RV engine wasn’t good enough to run a standalone game . I remember saying that the day of downloading the leaked version of dayz standalone before it came to steam days later . At that time I was wondering if they would indeed change engines down the road because real virtuality just wasn’t cutting it even for arma 2 dayz mods with specific tastes (more realistic vehicle counts , more guns etc) at that time . If any of you remember we were all enthralled with those countless dayz mods most of which hardly ever ran at 25 FPS in firefights . Even the vanilla dayz mod struggled , and we all know how shallow in scope that game was in hindsight comparison to what dayz standalone intends to become . The devs knew they were taking a risk from the beginning, they took it anyways believing in the “might” of the rv engine , but they also knew all along that that risk would come with an inherent consequence if they were wrong ... we all now see that that consequence is now in full swing and we are lagging behind in terms of patch to patch speed because of that and it’s ok because it was just a simple mistake made in the beginning - but still frustrating nonetheless . -

if only the devs had a concrete plan of making a new engine solely for dayz standalone before it came out; imagine how much further it would be along if it weren’t for the headstrong mistake of developing the standalone for almost a year before deciding it needed iTs own engine .... i love the game but I would have loved to have seen it’s final potential sooner than whenever that will be in this actual timeline ... let’s hope and pray they don’t find MORE blockers to prevent the true beta from presenting itself . -

Any word on when this next update will hit stress test ?? We need vehicles back soon walking is legit killing my dayz vibe , also soft skills cuz fun . -
I really like the new combat system .... so much better than the old one and you can finally turtle kick like a little bitch on your back ?
-
Hmmmm let’s hope from here on out this train moves a bit quicker ... glad to see things return but was sad to them go in the first place -_-
-
Agreed . Game loop is very stale atm after you get past the initial shock and awe of the awesome new .63 systems . Point is we’ve waited long enough , time to stop being such perfectionists and just give us the next build so we can break it and help the process move along . not many tips to give except find pvp or wait for the next build unfortunately .

Every 3 mo over last 5 years I try Dayz Again...
blackberrygoo replied to redmantab's topic in General Discussion
Hurry up and give us that stress test that is supposed to have everything that was previously in but missing from the first .63 build , and we will all be happy campers ... go ahead devs , your massive vacay is over now , time to get to work . -

Why doesn’t your health go down when getting hit ? Have you eaten and drink before the fight causing more blood recovery ? -
Lol that was just the best way to wake myself up. Sounded like a wu tang song .
-
Ewww you’re still playing .62 ... nice ambush !
-
I think you’re legit the only person playing .62 still

Give a speed boost to those who are max energized and hydrated , give a penalty to those who are being gutterlings eating like crap and not staying hydrated - sounds good to me .

What would you do if they removed third person view?
blackberrygoo replied to fosty99's topic in General Discussion
it might destroy the typical cookie cutter WoW experiences , but in a skill based MMO like mortal Online first person makes the game soooo much better . The world hasn’t had a taste of skill based MMOs yet due to mortal being too indie to get in the hands of all gamers but I’m telling you right now in a TRULY skill based MMO 1pp is absolutely superior to third person . Tracing the arc of your weapons swing and determining how long it is before you go into battle is a must for first person skill based MMOS (in a medieval context this would be) and applied to dayz I could see it being even more intense if everyone had to use 1pp . An MMO called Chronicles of Elyria is coming out to early access sometime next year , maybe by the end of this year and that game promises to be a skill based MMO , with both first and third person but that’s ok because medieval games don’t get ruined by the third person / first person debacle like shooter games do . But 1pp is still superior for adventure , survival , MMO , shooter , in my opinion , and I will be rocking the hands and sword view when I get into COEs world , as for dayz ; I’m always in first person loving the immersion . -
This game just needs to hurry up and get to full beta status (helicopters , soft skills , barricading , base building , lots more zombies and more fine tuned) and then we can all enjoy it again . Right now the game is truly waning on those besides the utmost obsessed . we need to kill this running simulator of very limited loot and zombies (once again) phasing through certain doors and walls , and resurrect the vision we all had of dayz so long ago ; a post apocalyptic world filled with helicopters , home made bases and barricades — where you can do almost anything and be anyone with specific skills just by practicing said skills , coupled with intelligent and scary zombies that pose a threat enough to want to work with strangers to survive ... We need Dayz Stand-alone to finish , because right now it’s just an ugly Frankenstein of incomplete systems just tantalizing us all of what COULD be in the future . Its our game , and we want it NOW !

Just kill someone , eat their dead body (raw or cooked , don’t matter, there’s no infection in this experimental patch) and use them calories to make all kinds of gains over the mountains to the promised land . You’re welcome .
