    memory leak + non-persistent inventory

    How are you getting over 60 fps ? The game seems to be default v-synced for 60 fps, or at least my rig stays at constant 60 in texture-light areas, and never ever snows anything more than 60 (leading me to believe it's locked at 60 fps but I'm not sure) .

    What new items do you want to see In the near(ish) future?

    I voted "other" because I would like to see these game mechanics added as well as the items needed for them : •Ability to climb trees •Ability to climb through windows •Ability to catch things that are thrown •Extendable ladders To get on rooftops :) •Firetrucks placed around chernarus with not only high pressure hoses (don't know how or if they would still work) and huge extendable ladders, and maybe eventually the trucks would be drivable •Mechanics to be able to gain muscle so our characters can get ripped in their free time and benefit from all the endless running (this might be long shot I know but imagine lol) •When alcohol is implemented , the capability to grow, harvest, and brew hops and other herbs needed to make beer (and maybe hard alcohols with other ingredients and appliances) •Marijuana seeds added (come on guys we've been pussyfooting around this for far too long :) ) <--- take this one as you will, I would just love to see this as a trade heavy mechanic (acting as currency for it's recreational purposes , or treated as painkiller for it's medicinal purposes). •When fire is reworked and can spread , we need the ability to soak our rag-wrapped arrows in some type of flammable liquid, so that we can light up soft flammable targets from a distance (maybe into a barn to scorch the insides of it killing zombies or humans alike) •Charcoal (or gas) grill added (we need BBQ sliderZ) •Ability to fish from the ocean (lemme at 'em) •Lightning should strike the ground or objects ocassionally • visible sea life (most likely further down the road) Lots of other mechanics I would like to see added for immersion and for crafting and fluidity , I can't wait to see how the game progresses because I know a lot of fun stuff is already planned .

    Since my other post got deleted..

    Turn off the engine before you enter/exit/interact with a vehicle . Never press "WASD" while entering/exiting a vehicle , and never park on really rough or uneven terrains .. This is the "V3S code" I have learned to live by since this patch hit stable , you must follow or you will perish lol!

    DayZ PS4 Discussion

    Yes I'm guessing devs will play with it internally for about 6 months like they did with dayz standalone (PC version was talked about being played by devs in summer of 2013 , so I'm assuming they will release it to the public closer to December 2015 somehow ... Maybe a demo disc lol!! But serously how is this going to work considering games like this don't get "demos"? It must be an open alpha type thing on console , I'm wondering how it would go down considering console gamers usually hate the whole open alpha thang ..

    Here, Devs, a word in your shell like..

    It's not completely random guy , have you been playing the game at all ? You do know that when you FALL UNCONCIOUS BECAUSE OF STARVATION OR THIRST YOU WILL NOT GET BACK UP.. The only chance you have of coming back from unconcious is If you were attacked/shot and your shock meter (unseen determination of mental health somewhat denominated by damage taken )is low enough and have enough blood to wake back up, but why would you assume you could wake up from a thirst induced coma ? Just hit respawn if you don't wake up after 2 minutes , that's generally what people do when you don't have assistance from another .. Only wait for it if you fell unconcious from a bullet or a bludgeoning , never wait for it if you fell unconcious from lack of food or water (but you actually can under very special circumstances wake up , but only if you somehow had these conditions: bright green hydrated , and starving , or bright green energized and dark red thirsty ... This combo usually induces some sort of glitch on characters that allows them to wake up from hunger/thirst induced comas , but this hasn't happened to me since about .32 branch, so I'm assuming it was a bug).
  8. I understand your frustrations, but that's why all good "heroes" know when to GTFO of dodge ... After you help, you run , if you feel weary of what's going down ; don't bother to help... RUN , because what good is a dead hero to those in need? Oh and also expect to be attacked by whomever you save. It sounds strange but when you start thinking that everyone you help is going to kill you , you start to operate quicker , and think more paranoid often resulting in hero success :). See we can't be like all the"heroes" in the movies (never backs out of trouble to help someone) because in the real world you can't save everyone, you have to "pick and choose your battles" so to speak. So if you even think of saving or helping someone you have to think of all the scenarios that could go down and be ok with the consequences, so I usually avoid : Bambi's or geared players randomly yelling into mic tryin to get anyone's attention , ANYONE who is desperately starving(just leave food for them in the middle of the street where they are running towards w/o being seen), anyone in large open areas with lots of places to hide (like a town square), or groups of geared players (I never help those who can help themselves unless they are in my squad). Don't lose hope young grasshopper (although it looks you already have lol !). Being a hero is more fun than a bandits life anyway, we live longer, make more friends, are more handsome, get all the ladies, and occasionally we drink dos equis(we don't always drink beer but when we do ...)

    Advanced Question On Ping

    Cuz dayz mod was a script monstrosity , not sure if that could affect your ping but definitely affects how choppy gameplay was , standalone stays away from scripts and instead is hardcoded... That's the only thing I can think of if dayz mod plays like crap on way less ping than what dayz sa gives you with better performance and more ping ..

    First time cooking - what am i doing wrong?

    It's definitely a weird bug ... Steaks from any animal should have "raw" in the name right after you extract from the animal and before you cook it, and it's condition isn't what changes, what does change is it's state from being "raw" to "crooked" and then obviously to "burnt" . For those of you who had this bug , did you ever see it say "cooked" or "burnt" ? Or was did it only show status conditions like pristine and ruined ?

    Will these buildings ever be enterable in future?

    I would also like to see all houses and buildings open up, and more rooms open In each building (no fake doors). I'm pretty sure this is on the long term plans though , maybe not soon but definitely eventually .
  12. Lol what ? So you think making the world more enterable , and interactive makes the players less interactive ? Where are you getting your statistics that shows how the vanilla mod is more "player to player interactive" ? In my opinion I could NEVER GET ANYONE TO SAY THEIR FRIENDLY AND NOT ACTUALLY KILL ME RIGHT AFTER IN THE MOD . In standalone , people are friendly all over , I think you just have some weird nostalgia over dayz vanilla , because that game is SO FAR from a real survival experience and it has so little to connect with other players that it's almost laughable ... Oh ya let's join a clan and teamspeak all the time only to talk to another person when were about to KOS them ( that's dayz vanilla mod) where as dayz standalone, there's so much more to do (many more enterable buildings, better crafting, horticulture, way better animal system, and much more balanced pvp system , no stupid kill tags or death messages) and so much detail that there's no way you could say that there was better interaction in vanilla (you only could say that if you have a hard time talking to people in standalone , it's a much different interaction than typing in global chat like all dayz mod vanilla players are used to , in standalone you actually have to get out there and talk to people face to face ) ... Sure you can make a base , sure you can hunt for cars and helicopters , but when it truly comes down to the realistic feel of having to interact with others , dayz vanilla mod has no easy way to do so (the global chats desensitizes people to interaction with others because they think they can just global chat to make friends , it's much more realistic and face to face in dayz sa where as you only have proximity chat) there were hardly any open buildings so if you wanted to be safe inside a building you had to find a big group to make a base with (and that group mentality further forces you to not want to make interaction with more new players , forcing you into some KOS type personality that only trusts his clan) . So in my opinion dayz vanilla mod was unfortunately disgustingly unbalanced, especially in the pvp , survival, and player interaction areas simply because the way the game was built (cheesy unrealistic pvp system , bad communication system because of the global chat , and bad mentality towards solo players ). This conversation really doesn't matter though (in my opinion) because like I've said from the start of day standalone , the dayz mod is on it's way to it's grave , forever being held only in our nostalgic thoughts and hundreds of hours of videos recorded and put on YouTube that exclusively features pvp because that's what the mod was about , not survival or player interaction . Edit : also I have 1,300 hours on my belt , and I only stay inland going to the coast only to meet friends , and for me finding at least two dozen encounters while I am inland is a normal thing over about two days of plating (about 3 hours a day) . Now imagine the 100 player count that the devs specifically said the servers would get to soon ( so that also negates your worries that the devs don't have plans to increase player count, they are not keeping it at 40-50 for much longer ).

    I voted central economy, but what I really want to be addressed is persistence all over , not just vehicles , but it's all coming together slowly .. But they already said a new anti cheat and battleeye were being integrated into the experimental branch at some point on this next set of patches , so we won't need to vote for that :) ! Edit : to axerzeroon, that's not entirely true , the new renderer will be placed in it's earliest stage , sometime this quarter as it's slated on the roadmap ... So we will see some improvements , just not ALL improvements that the new renderer has to offer . until beta .

    Hoe-lee.... Shit ... Vehicle persistence , new anti cheat / anti hack, new BE , admin logs , AND new island with a prison on it ?! I'm in fucking dayz heaven :).. Can't wait to play experimental these next few days , here's to hoping it's up by tonight , and here's to calling out from work over the next few days when it does :) !

    Breaking/smashing doors/windows

    That old arguement ^^ .. No, it's not better that way.. Game development can't be understood with metaphors (only with logic and math) or compared to other things like priorities in auto body work or anything really for that matter, as game developement is a culmination of many different systems and is sensitive to new content being coded in . If you create one system in full , it's only going to break when you add another parallel system , therefore, to avoid this , it requires many different people with seperate skill sets to be working on something all at once so that they work smoothly together (and push out new content at a reasonable rate) . Otherwise , if the developers said " ok let's just finish up zombies for good" then what we would get is 3 months straight with no patches but zombie content and for those 3 months no one would be able to work on anything because not everyone hired to develop dayz deals with coding , ai , or zombies at all so everyone thinks this "fluff" (art content and new items) is ruining the game development process , but really it has no strain on development process and it's the only sensible way to Develop a video game especially one with an open public alpha. Tl;dr: not everybody in the dev team works on coding , zombies , or ai, so to assume that adding new items and art content is hindering the development process of the overall features , is wrong .

    Running Dayz on Mac through BootCamp

    Depends on what i5, my computer is a desktop I5 -3570k and she operates better than a lot of i7s , but the mobile processors are generally very weak, the 3000 graphics will be just good enough , and your ram is plenty, the only problem is running boot camp takes up a lot of resources it seems .. So id say you're at least gonna hit 15 fps , not so sure if it would run any better than 20 though on very low graphics if that unfortunately (but that's still playable) . As my friend has the same situation by running boot camp on almost identical setup , it should at least run enough for you to play .. Maybe lots of crashes though , audio from the v3s crashes my friend unless he turns his volume down (very strange) . Id say give dayz a buy , and take the risk :) !

    That's pretty freaking cool if this isn't photoshopped ... I would love to have the ability to bury things , even if it went to an imaginary instanced world until you happened to dig in the right spot (because the terrain can't be dug into by players because technically there's morning underneath) ... Imagine finding a buried Aug or ammo box lol :) .

    Man up you guys , if you don't like this broken potential less mod you can always come play standalone ;) but don't come if you're one of those carebears that complain about bugs in an alpha :) ... Dayz mod is dead !!!

    influx of SA players to the mod

    Don't worry man, your server silence will begin again when all of the people get disinterested in the ridiculous KOS fest that is the dayz mod ( I mean they are most likely just annoyed by some bugs in standalone which is why they take temporary breaks, which is good in the long run) ... I feel so ridiculously disinterested whenever I load up dayz mod, it's so plain and boring in terms of immersion and actually being a survival game ... Ugh you could not pay me to stop playing standalone to play this mess of pvp again , in my opinion in about 6 months the dayz mod will be close to abandoned , seeing how much potential the standalone has and how the dayz mod is only hanging on by a thread of nostalgia (let's face it , all the GOOD dayz mods are DEAD , how could anyone whos interested in playing a survival game have ANY FUN in a mod like over watch or overpoch , it's unrealistic , not immersive one bit and the only thing It has is many vehicles and base building). To each his own though , but for me , dayz mod is in the past , the future is with dayz standalone and it's great to see people still living in the past but most of us need something new to breathe life into this genre (seeing as dayz mod made it , but definitely didn't perfect it , dayz sa truly feels like a survival game , the mod does NOT) and dayz standalone does just that , sometimes standalone is ust so frustrating (seeing as it's in Alpha) that many of us desperately flock to what once made us happy... But after a good three hours of playing a still buggy , very underdeveloped (in terms of survival , immersion and potential) dayz mod , most of us realize that the mod is in the past for a reason , and that our expectations have been raised by standalone so for a huge majority of us we can't stay on dayz mod for long as the negatives out weigh the nostalgic positives .

    Find pistol silencers yet? or mp5 compensators?

    Well through Dayz's timeline there have been many loot items that were "added" to the tables , but didn't spawn for another week to a month after they were added .. Example : Noones found a chainsaw since the first day of experimental, same with the pistol silencers , the torch and torch craftin never seemed to be properly configured as I've seen no one with one or talking about one .. Prison stuff I'm pretty sure is in but is super rare ? But the meat cleaver is just like the chainsaw , Noones been finding them after the first few days that .52 was released to experimental , but I'm sure well see all these items spawning properly ( or just more often) very soon with the next patch or so.

    How do you use the heat pack?

    Well today my character seemed glitched, I was on a rainy server so all my clothes got wet , I subsequently found another nice set of clothes , but kept my wet clothes in my pack for a friend.. I end up logging off and coming back later after I woke up from a sweet ass nap ... My character was now getting "cold" as it was apparently really cold so I ditched the wet clothes inside my pack and my character was somehow still wet (despite all my clothes being dry) , I decided to use my two heat packs (I was energized and hydrated but couldn't get it bright green as my character would keep getting dangerously "stuffed" if I ate or drank) . After a while the heat packs , which were placed in my pants and my jacket, were ruined but they didn't even heat me up ... So my conclusion is that somehow some characters get bugged now and again by the cold or rain maybe , and nothing but extreme fire making allows it to warm you up (my character is still cold as I have yet to find matches , I'm also on a private hive so I can't hop to a sunny server ). So it may not be a glitch with heat packs but raining and characters becoming glitched by rain or wetness itself ! :0
