Tonyeh, I have to say that your seeing into this very short sightedly ...All People don't search for a ridiculously high end weapon right away (I first search for a police outfit , as I always say my words are my most powerful weapon) , and PVp is NOT the only thing to do in this gsme ... I see novice dayz players say this all the time , but really you aren't playing dayz the right way to interact with others when you can only think of self preservation (this Is a game , try and take evey life as a different one instead of the same life from before seeking pvp vengeance )... I see above all youre truly interested in is finding guns (and high end ones for that matter) and then you go on to say that you ALWAYS confront someone when inside a house (and for that reason im guessing you confront them outside as well) that raises red flags for someone who's always friendly like me . It's a bummer that Zeds are hardly in right now yes , but not being able to find a weapon in 3-5 hours is a godsend in this game . Like nocturas said above it only curbs PVP in this game (when PVE is stronger it will show even more so) , and let me guess if you have only been experiencing pvp in this game and nothing else you are either :Always At military locations looking for that high end gun basically begging for pvp , or youre traversing through high population 3rd person servers which is haven for scum (no offense 3PP players but 1PP just seems to be friendlier) or your hopping low pop servers which everyone knows you have a higher chance at seeing people on low Pop servers in high loot areas (such as mil bases). But if you're avoiding all those things , To mitigate supspicion of yourself , try talking to someone when you know they are there . For instance , your house example , next time you hear or see someone in the house you are in , immediately get into cover and yell to them that you're in the building and don't want to fight, if they don't respond they are definitely looking for a fight , but don't tell us that there's no choice besides confrontation because that's just wrong , too many people are just afraid of doing anything else so they run or shoot the first person they see ... There are options in this game when it comes to player interaction , don't be like the rest of the people who mistake this game for some cheap shoot em up , just because everyone else wants to treat it that way doesn't mean you have to , and I get it , bad people with guns everywhere but to really get control of those situations you need to start going out on a limb and do things like trying to converse with the people who have guns when you dont, because fact of the matter is , many of these KOS bandits can be talked down or at least convinced to let you live if you suck up to them (and many times provides great RP) . Opposite of you , I can only count on my two hands the amount of NEGATIVE encounters I've had over the last month, while the amount of positive friendly encounters in that same time are about double that because I simply don't just run or punch when I am unarmed (that's fine if you want to run but I'm telling you not everyone wants to kill you , you just have to feel them out by talking first). Chances are they might want to kill you but when they try , THATS when you can try and run , and I mean if it gets you an amazing encounter might as well try conversing seeing as running around for 6 hours without a weapon is boring to most , so spice it up and try to interact with those wielding weapons (as opposed to thinking "oh my life is over" as soon as you spot someone armed) , they might even give you one , which has happened to me numerous times resulting in making steam friends !

My guess is that you two succumbed to the half broken hypothermia system (it used to work much better, not sure what made it break in recent patches) . Was your friend sprinting more than you two ? Did he have a gun on back and in hand ? These seem to play into how hot or cold you get sometimes , but that could be in my head and your third friend just lucked out . And remember fires kill you if you stand on them , try and make a triangle of fires inside a house and sit in between them , if this doesn't cure your hypothermia status I recommend taking your shoes off and then on again to see if it updates your status as others have said the status may just be desyncing and not appearing until it's really dire. Also remember the difference ( I know you probably do) of hyperthermia and hypothermia, hyper is from being too hot and hypo is from the cold .. I only say this because many people don't realize you can get hyperthermia in the rain ... Best of luck , hopefully the temperature sustem is fixed very soon .

Did you draw those up real quick ? Dammit gews there's nothing about guns you aren't on top of... But yea I would like it if the crossbow was able to be placed in a backpack like an smg , maybe we can add a little handheld crossbow to fit better ?

Devs confirmed a long time ago that this is something they were interested in doing ... It was even in the Dev tracker alongside a eugen harton tweet saying "rear view mirrors coming to a v3s near you" that was about three months ago ... Look alive forum brahjes and brahjettes, I thought you all were like totes legit on top of this stuff !

Mod sucks , hate your long ass block of text ... Arma 3 wasteland is fun though I have to admit :) .... Move on brotha ! Maybe go play another game or get a hobby for a year or so , dayz moves slow but guaranteed will be multiplayer game of the year when it's fully released .

The devs never "shot this idea down" but when people started to compare the zombie art of this game to the art in dayz origins mod , they got pretty quick to tell us that the zombies in this dayz werent dead (so there's no way they could be walking around with axes in their back and such) ... But the devs have said over and over again that they have a team working to "gore up Chernarus" and the first and most recent addition was the roadblocks added to give a more apocalyptic feel , but before those were added one of the devs tweeted (a few months ago I think) and said before the game was fully released you will see a more gore filled , less clean Chernarus ! Who knows when they will start these art assets but my guess is it's close around the Corner seeing as they are getting closer to an apocalyptic survival game !

You must now use a sharp object to tear things into rags ... And bandages themselves seem to be rare !

My guess is its only related to certain servers ... I've been playing on an official sounding 1pp server (it says dayz NL 005 or something) and all the weapons im dropping are staying past restart ... But it could be that the barrels and tents themselves Are acting up ?

Sorry Im going to work around then which is why I said I will have to wait til tomorrow ... I can't wait for something really monumental to come through dayz , all thse patches getting delayed on such basic patches makes me sad , if it was a delay On .59 I wouldnt be so irritated because there seems to be some new content promised for .59 but damn .58 is dry as fuck hah, except for the basic survival premise finally coming into the game .

My character in the current experimental is the badass Asian cop I showcased the other day , I might as well go bandit hunting tonight when my two friends get here (finally convinced them to play again with .58 after a few month break ,.).

You really think these loot rats are gonna buy their own server just to be able to have a safe stash so they can server hop pvp with it ? That's the most outrageous thing I've heard in a long time, really . You know it costs like 90$ a month to rent a server ? I really don't tbink server hopping will be an issue , but to OPs point , yes people will still try and be on the coast, that's what morons do , they do what they want instead of what's best for them ... But thay doesn't change the fact that Neville is right : acquiring high tier loot isn't as easy as you think it is right now , when stable hits sure some guy can find an empty server but trust me I've been going to empty servers constantly to try and find some weapons on .58 experimental and even up west in vybor I can only find a RAK with no clip , A makarov with one bullet , and finally found a cr 75 clip , so that's a start . .58 won't stop deathmatch at the coast but it will curb it a little bit .

Pwrsistence has been wiped every patch . This is why the stuff in barrels has been disappearing after each patch .
