We don't "need" basebuilding , but do we "need" m4s or AUG's either ? The options to basebuilding should be in any open world sandbox environment simply because that's what humans do: they create , do , and use things that aren't necesssry for survival simply because they like to or it makes them feel more comfortable ... If all the work is done we WILL find something else to do , wether it be make our own shanty somewhere so we don't have to work at living In an undead city or making a massive fortress inside a city to take it over , I beleive the outcome will be amazing both for those that build and don't build : imagine finding a big fortress and slowly but surely breaking through the back wall where no one looks , one night you finally break in and steal away into the night with weapons from their armory ! I personally loved base building in dayz aftermath and think that they had a good model , it was never easy to break into someone's base especially one with large level 4 walls, it took many sledgehammers and sometimes a few hours to break into a well fortified base... Dayz should be the exact way if not harder !

You would be placed just outside the base , that seems fair to me in a gameplay perspective .... I can't wait for .58 stable and further more .59 experimental :) ! Great work devs , I'm just sad you guys didn't have more to say :/ .

Lol that was clearly a quick example ! Usually it's like this : soawn in around the shore and loot up pretty well, eventually find some trouble with someone holding someone else up , if I know they have bullets and have been shooting , I will wound one of them (sometimes I accidentally kill them , oh well) and then tell the others to put hands up and drop weapons ... They usually comply and I tie up one or tell the victim to tie up the robbers , it's quite easy actually and I'm surprised you haven't picked up such tactics in 1,500 hours to be honest ! Just the other day I walked up to a dark house with a fire lit with two brociopaths inside , I yelled "friendly are you guys friendly ?" And they respond with bullets to my general direction , I killed the first one through the window , I ran around the house and opened the second door and ran back to the first door and unloaded on the guy who was only able to get two shots on me... This was just another example of me trying to do the best situation without immediately killing , start doing stuff like that and eventually you WILL be able to control situations like robberies in progress !!

It doesn't matter what you had on you and how trustworthy the guy seemed , don't get mad at these situations and try to learn something from the experience each time ! If someone is having fun with you ask for their steam name to friend up , chances are he wont want to if he has intentions of killing you ... Always be careful and never let someone else (even a trusted "Aquaintance") tell you what to do if it puts you in a more vulnerable position than they !

I usually don't upload as my quality is shit :/ but I am going to start a thread after .58 hits stable showcasing mine and anybody else who has a good video , it's sad to see so many épéens in disbelief that you can actually do things besides KOS in this game ! Don't worry when you break 1,000 hours you will start to pick up some other tactics ! Edit : not calling anyone here an epeen btw , but I mention that because no one on the dayz community believes hero exists still ! It does !

Damn , wannabe ass bandits everywhere ... I remember when bandits use to have class , I'm now fighting a bunch of little kid bandits it seems whereas before I was actually challenged trying to play hero .... Maybe over the 1.5 years standalone has increased my ability to survive in random aggressive situations haha .. But in all seriousness the attitude of those three bandits is the reason why this game in GENERAL has a bad name , all these baddies thinking that there's no way you can have fun being a good guy , so they pretend as if KOS is the only Play style.. they really think its fun to kill someone in cold blood and not even get fought back ? When .58 hits stable I want to make a thread of encounters that are worth posting , there everyone will post their "hero or good guy killing bad guy" encounters and show the morons of this community that being good does pay off as long as your better than the baddies at strategy and accuracy ;) ! -
Should have been with me last night , exactly that happened. I got jumpy and accidentally shot the guy I saw (lol , it happens to the best of us) but I immediately apologized and mediced the crap out of him ...'he was so grateful I didn't murder him ! l2P like dayz wAs intended Mckaboose !

I play hero all the time and you absolutely can't stop my swag ... I'm far too diesel at first person shooters to be taken a fool by some young punk bandits !! Daddy's all like watching the situation and shit and when he sees an opportunity of a fight or a confrontation I run in with my gun up and get everyone on the floor, or at least weapons dropped ... I then move the people to the closest building and usually have one person tie up the other , I ask what the fuck they doing causing trouble 'round here and why they are fighting ... Whoever sounds more suspicious gets the judgement of the Kush (honestly though I don't kill unless I get shot at or know that the person in question is a cold blooded murderer). I have the most fun playing hero , I have hundreds of videos of my 1,300 + hours of people trying to stop my swag but it was far too great , and I was far too hero - licious... Honestly waiting and assessing the situation is so much more fun than running and gunning all the time : if you know what you're doing you can run straight into berezino on a 50/50 and come out having saved a few people's lives and killed a few bandits with an amazing experience in between to tell about !

Paris would be amazing . Think of the Eiffel tower or the slums that is the sky scraping ghetto apartments that would be great for firefights !

Difference between standalone and mod?

I really wouldn't buy miscreated , there are NO Enemies , if you kill the server owner you get kicked , the loot is literally non existent , the map is 5 times smaller than chernarus, sure it has base building and vehicles but it's honestly a fucking bore to play , i played about two hours straight and decided I never will play that crap game again... It just literally is nothing special and aims to try and replicate every other good survival game , it looks nice but that's only in screenshots and theory . Please don't waste your money haha , and try to buy another game like the forest (actually has potential) and don't be aroused by the fact that dayz is taking awhile To make . Oh and to be fair , the developers of dayz have said MULTIPLE TIMES that the game would take 3 years to make , so no the due date was NOT PUSHED BACK . We are technically right on schedule take a month or so because persistence and CLE gave us a challenging run . So anyone who says this game is being delayed constantly , please stop spreading misinformation before I bench you and your mother , 2 sets 8 reps . -

Dayz mod has more content atm but dayz standalone is much better at quality , immersion , realism , PVP encounters , hunting , and many other things ... And if it doesn't have it (whatever IT is) yet it will in the next six - 8 months . -

Awesome video mate haha ! I love when people role play like this , I usually role play the hero trying to save people from suicide like yourself , it hasn't worked so far lol people are really apt to kill themselves when theyve decided it .

Radios : A Cure for Player Interaction

It's funny seeing all these posts of how dayz interactions is so terrible because of KOS but I think it's right where it needs to be ... I play 1PP servers and people are generally much more careful with who they shoot at but besides that I talk to at least two people per session (I stay by the shore and the NW hotspots) and about 3/4 of them are "friendly"(didn't shoot at me at least) . I think interaction is right where it needs to be , except it could improve a little by making zombies harder and I do like this radio idea but I think they should just work better and have fewer channels for now so you wouldn't stsrt with one but they would be easier to find and work better with less channels to choose from. -

If that's your reason for disliking the game atm then that's very sad lol ... Even when they add all the content in the world people wont stop from killing , this is the apocalypse , you better get the jump on the guy next time so you can control the situation better ! This game has provided me more hours than any other game save for monster rancher 2 (Lolz) and I'm seeing it blossom into a beautiful ass creature that shatters expectations of quality of multiplayer games . Stick around and in about 1-3 months we are going to see an Influx of new content and server optimization people won't be able to stay away ! I personally can't wait for .59 branch , confirmed 3 new vehicles , more in depth vehicle repairing mechanic and who knows what else new content .

You sound like the type that wouldn't want to download experimental version and get into it , that being said wait for .58 to reach stable branch because im having the most fun with .58 experimental out of all the builds of dayz... It truly is shaping up to be the only survival game needed out there by survival / open world enthusiasts, and slowly but surely with all the eye candy content added at the very end of the alpha cycle we will see all the casuals pulled in as well because you damn well know they won't be able to resist the awesomeness that will be Dayz 1.0 . TL;dr : wait for .58 stable or download .58 experimental as it is the best patch in dayz so far .

Yea I really don't like this either , we need it changed back .. I only roll 1PP (unless I play with friends) and it is aggravating not being able to look up into say, the novo towers windows or something similar . -
Yep I'm surprised you guys don't know , getting head shotted (or shot from over 1,000 meters or something of that range) you will not hear the bullet ... You can be insta killed with shots to the body with certain weapons FYI !

Base Building vs Advanced Barricading

If you wanted that much of a work load , yes . But I'm thinking of the small 8-10 groups that are clans in dayz , they won't want to take over an entire town per se , but rather make a large outpost at the center or outskirts of a town so they can easily go and raid the town but also have a decent sized base to take care of (not the size of a city though as that would be to much to look after ). It's all personal preference really , I've always wanted to base build but I know for me I will definitely be boarding up windows and taking over houses I already adore lol ... I can't wait for boarding of windows though that was my first wish in this game .. -
I'm glad all the little fucks are going off to h1z1 and unturned and such , gives us more space for our experimental servers (and in my opinion if you guys even bothered to play experimental you would have a whole new view on dayz : vehicle repairing , dying and creating items in barrels , accelerated time and 100% working pwrsistence , hardly any Desync and whole groups of animals that live and move together )... When this hits stable branch we will see at least a few thousand person increase on that peak count ! Dayz is taking a long time to mature but you really can't be a sane adult and think that h1z1 or unturned are better than dayz even with things to do .. I mean look At h1z1: ugly ass blocks everywhere because there's literally no way to take someone's base down , the game runs ok but looks like a child made the art , there's bo zombies and never has been a good amount since release of the game, nobody cares about life in that game and believe it or not there's way more KOS in those games with "more to do" so sorry to tell you guys (not really sorry lol) that the quality of those games are so far down the line from what dayz is but the sheer fact of the matter is that one of those games is free so why not like it , and the other one is a huge gimmick that just plays off of people's frustration of other games (h1z1 trying to beat dayz to the punch on base building , they did it but at what cost? Their base building mechanic is half baked and not qualitative enough for me or any one with any sense of quality to enjoy !). We have got to realize potential when we see it people , sure some of you are just wasting time on any game out there but for people who's looking to not waste time on something that is going to be dead in the near futur , we would like to spend it on things that have quality , not things that just present to have a lot . Quality. Not quantity!

Base Building vs Advanced Barricading

While advanced barricading will clearly be the option for lone wolf like players like myself, making a fortified base would be the go to option for clans and big groups trying to "rebuild society" , or just trying to look fearsome with a whole bunch of sniper towers and large wood walls ... But if there was one dayz mod that brings an excellent example of how hard it should be to break into a base it was Dayz Aftermath .. To break through a level one wall it took about 15 minutes and a sledgehammer + toolkit , and sometimes your sledge could snap , making it an even harder endeavor and the only other thing that could take out walls was grenades and they were as rare in that game as in standalone .. I know the DEVS will make it very hard to break into bases (as in takes at least fifteen minutes to break a simple wall) because they most likely have seen other games (ark especially) who's whole game is ruined because base raiding is far too easy ... I think a good balance will be struck between cost and time to make a base versus how fast it is to tear one down . -
"Engine changes" doesn't necessarily mean the new renderer , the engine is much bigger than just the renderer ;) .

lol this game has THE MOST survival mechanics of any game I've ever seen ... Stop thinking like bear grylls for once and think like a gamer lol , zombie survival games need to work on other things then just survival , like the nonexistent zombies !
