Back in days when you spawned with beans and a Makarov and lots of people were new, I joined a nighttime server and was pretty scared. Ran along the coast at a kind person's instructions (good ol' Side chat) and bumped into a fellow group of survivors - numbering about 6, one of them held aloft a flare and ran at the front while the others ran along behind with makarovs out. For hours we roamed up and down the coast, adding to our numbers, until someone had the idea to start putting people down. We charged through Cherno, killing anyone and anything that wasn't a member of the group, lighting the way ahead by taking turns to throw flares - the whole coast was lit. We met our demise en-masse when someone with an automatic weapon opened fire on us from a rooftop - don't remember which now.

Any timezone requirement? I'm interested but I need to be awake when you're shooting. I'm GMT complete with English accent for what its worth.

Rudson, that's unnecessary. If a post is dumb, report it. Don't flame him and provide no help, the least you can do is link the post you're talking about. rocket's posts aren't plastered all over every page, funny enough not everyone keeps up with rocket with the devotion you do.

Sounds like a problem with your computer! But yeah, I tried connecting earlier after Rocket tweeted that it was working. Sat on "Waiting for Host" for a good 10 minutes before crashing out through Task Manager.

Silly. I think it's daft to have any indication of who's a bandit and who isn't - I picture events of people getting attacked and killing their attacker in self defense, then they get this kind of silly penalty which makes them even more of a target. What kinda happens with interaction is it's either a band of newbies on the coast, and almost every other group is communicating externally via skype or similar voice program - once people get the awesome gear then there isn't much else to do except shoot other players. tl;dr - humanity system always redundant

No Melee in ArmA afaik. I'd love to see it but it would need to be added to the engine separately - maybe in ArmA 3? Haven't watched much on it.

Truer words have never been spoken. Really happy to see the zeds being reworked. The main thing for me is actually making stealthing possible, seeing as their x-ray vision kinda makes hiding somewhat useless and the only way to navigate around them being go prone/crouch and move slow at the moment. Moving around buildings in the dead of night with an NVG overwatch on me telling me where to go will be awesome :D Making them this dangerous is nice too, at the moment its possible to deal with zombies by just running away then turning and shooting. So much new realism being brought in I could gush for hours over it :P

Yeah, the DayZ guys won't ban you for possession. Nor would BattlEye - that would only ban you for obtaining them through illegitimate means i.e. hack-spawning them in. To prevent players having weapons that are illegal, DayZ guys are just replacing them with Makarovs so the weapons don't exist anymore. edit: and the replacement will take no time at all. Yes Rice, weapons do have different IDs - this is how the game's code works, so the values within your inventory correspond to different items in the game world. All the dev team have to do is compare all the weapons in people's inventories with those that are on the loot tables - anything that doesn't match up will be replaced with the value for Makarov. It's a pretty simple process.

What bodily orifice did you pull the name Jennifer Lopez out from? If there was anyone whom I'd suspect, it would be rocket himself - because I've seen a picture of him in a mocap suit, holding a model rifle :P the image is somewhere in this thread i think.
