Hard to trust people when they are shooting at the very sight of you innit? I know the feeling well. As for what to do, Never allow the people you do trust to draw a weapon or even have one in there hands, if it helps the situation you should lower or put away yours too. Then a trust begins to develop as you communicate, I should imagine you can tell by the way someone is speaking to you if they are safe to trust (or not) anyway. Fully analyse the situation and always be on your guard.. one thing I would say though, never trust the dudes with fully kitted out characters, they should not be taken lightly, if possible hide and try to talk them into friendship, imo they are as scared of encounters as anyone as they don't want to lose all there shit. or Welcome to the Bandits! KoS is a good tactic to survive too.. minus the meeting of new friends :)

Always stock pile enough food and water before going out into the world, at least enough to make it to another town or pool. C'mon dude, you sound like you know how to play too... These are the survival basics, it matters little what you do in between eating and drinking.

My advice is to join a full server, chances are people will have dispatched of most of the zombies near and around the towns already, giving you ample space and time to meet people, rather than them relentless Zeds all the time. it's not always a good thing meeting other survivors in this game though, but I'm sure your aware of the mindset most people have when playing, especially if you watch YT vids. Also, check in sheds, even the small ones for an axe or hoe, just anything to defend yourself with that's better than your fists, it feels like it takes forever to kill with bare hands. I find circling the Zombie works quite well, not giving them chance to hit you face on while you bash them while circling.

You gotta watch out for the wannabe's man.. you gotta use a unique title or something to try and counteract. It is annoying, Very.. I don't think they see it from a different persons perspective. It's only further saddening when it makes peoples legit topic get locked, then everyone starts to think the Mods are overpowering, when in actual fact they are not. Akin to fans in a football game screaming at the referee, literally influencing his decision making. OT - Bikes would be awesome, as would any other forms of transport.. now vehicles are getting some attention I would hope to hear more info on whats coming up and what to expect in the future with them.

I launched the game, it crashed when I entered a server (dunno wtf happened there? but meh) anyway on the next attempt I got in and immediately found a pink balaclava. Now since this is the first time I found one, I'm wearing it! .. then my GF come home and immediately spoiled my fun by calling me an addict.. I had been gaming for 3 minutes approx, the irony.

CoOL... These things NEVER happen when I play DayZ... I basically run from place to place and then usually get sniped from afar. On the odd occasion I run into a person, they dont speak, even when spoken to, they just aimlessly KoS. Oh I feel ya, no fights here bro.. I have had as low as 5-6 FPS in some towns in DayZ. I know the feeling well. We can only hope things like what the OP talks about do improve how the game performs.. either it gets sorted or I might have to get the PS4 version when it comes.. maybe that's what they want? $$$ haha!

It's common knowledge that the FPS is horrible in towns.. it always has been, no matter how powerful your rig is. My point is/was that some people expect the game to run nice and smooth.. they see YT vids of the streamers who have bagfulls of money to blow on up to date hardware and are sometimes blind to how DayZ runs on a normal/moderate gaming PC, then when they get it.. are suprised to see that its nothing like what they saw on YT. I also never said its gonna magically give 60FPS, but cranking the settings down does help. Also them minimum specs listed for DayZ in steam are a joke, surely?

I know it's well spoken that DayZ is not a very optimized game but then I think.. the game world/map is HUGE. I imagine they are aware of the struggles people have with performance so it's obvious it's going to be an area of improvement for them. in the meantime, turn down your graphics settings, that should help get you slightly better FPS (works for me).. and if you have to turn them right down and still have unplayable FPS issues, then its probably time for a PC upgrade I think.. now thats never what a person wants to hear but sometimes it has to be said.. and done. I'm not sure what a PS4 version has to do with the PC performance though? as far as I know its called porting.

How many Zombies currently spawn into servers and do they now respawn? Reason I ask is that the other day, when I played.. I ran through Electro (good job on the the new spawns btw) and I must have been chased by at least 6 of them, whilst still seeing more in the distance as I was flailing around with nothing to defend myself with. I died fists flying by getting cornered by them in the pub next to the supermarket.. which I foolishly thought would be safe to run into the upstairs backroom and hide behind the wardrobe. I was wrong. They do agro from a ridiculous range, they are like terminators.. they absolutely do not stop until you (or they) are dead. LOS or distance from the threat means nothing. Something I hope they sort out sooner rather than later.

I expected something a little different to happen in that bedroom scene, I must say.. what I saw happen cannot be unseen! Subbed.

No love for knees? what about knees? they can get bruised, even the cap can come away causing pain.. not to mention simply aching after all that running.
