Thanks for the feedback guys.. I have played a few Alpha titles over the past couple years and have nearly always been disappointed in them, its not that they have been bad games but rather my own impatience and jumping on them early has given me a bad impression of them.. for that reason alone I'm thinking its better for me personally to hold off for a few more weeks/months and grab it further down the dev cycle. DayZ however is a different kind of game, I'm sure I would enjoy it right now, no doubt about it, its unlike any other game I have ever played in that it's a unique experience for sure.. but I truly fear that jumping in now I would only unfairly judge it, not because I'm a dick like that.. but because I will have too high expectations for it. I can keep up with progress by watching streams and checkin in the forums :) I can see how that's a viable option to cut costs, on the other hand, I have a feeling DayZ will be worth full price when complete :)

You could just buy it now at the already discounted price and not even play it until further into the games development? this way you get the game relatively cheap and dont have to worry about the future prices.

Ahhh, thats right! Show all them fire extinguisher wielding survivors out there how to become even more deadly! without having to venture to far from the coast! I know.. Why not show them how to find a gun. >:(

maybe it would be wise to venture out when you have enough supplies for such a journey? just a thought for next time.. seems to me, since its telling you your dieing that your pretty screwed, I suppose all you can do is head to the closest town and try to find fluid or a water source and just hope you make it in time.

I'm waiting to buy the game when its full price, when its a little more polished with a lot more of the scope dean has for the game added and the way i see it.. it will save myself from such like mind frames that OP has :) I can easily watch streams and YT vids to keep updated on the games progress. Maybe people should put aside the hype, and save themselves from potential disappointment by taking a leaf from my book? I can understand buying the game early as they are excited and for a discount, but for that discount your putting yourself in an unfinished bugfest of an Alpha game. Not for me thanks, I can wait.. plenty more games in the sea :)

Believe it or not I posted that a few hours before the game was released, obviously I need'nt have asked if I'd have known.. no wonder it didn't get answered :)

Another use could be for a 'one pound coin' gap toothed person to use a lace as dental floss :) Gotta keep them teeth clean, dont wanna be getting toothache in a Zombie Apocalypse!

I'm really sorry if these questions have already been asked, but after spending the best part of an hour trawling and searching the forums I cant find the answers to these questions.. So, when SA is released on Steam is there going to be a limited number of available copies? I really want to grab it early on, which I'm sure thousands if not millions of others do too! and How big can we expect the SA to be? as in 5GB.. 10GB?

These gameplay changes to the mod are actually going to benefit the standalone as it will be more 'core' Dayz.

I think you have to run both games independently first.. for example launch Arma 2 then quit the game when it gets to the menu screen, then launch Arrowhead after and quit that. Some kinda 'Combined Operations' thingamajig.. anyways, its what worked for me. Hope it helps. Ahh ninja'd, disregard my input... glad you got it sorted :)

Turn post process effects down in the game options, try disabled :) I also use 'sharp filter' anti-aliasing for crisp edges

After reading your post is it wrong that I want to kill you? ... in-game of course! If you are following me in my eyes you are the one who's acting suspicious so 'You' are the one who is going to get yourself killed. Then after which I bet you would be the one crying like a little bitch, going Waaaaa Waaaaaa. If you want to act like a bandit you have to assume you are going to get treated like one, good intentions or not. If I see a bandit, he's getting shot, no questions asked.. you are a bad guy and for that you die.

Like the mod, a core part of the DayZ experience is the inventory system as one tends to spend a lot of time using it... So yep, I believe the look and feel of the UI on DayZ is very important for the Devs to get right. Is it important right away since the game will be Alpha? I say yes, first impressions are key!

This stinks of a halloween release.
