    Standalone Graphics

I heard about this "issues" in a video. Maybe it was on the dev blog. I believe there will be some graphics adjustments possible, but not to the extend it was/is. Can't remember 100% though.

    Weather and Environment in SA

Question. In the standalone, will the weather change? A bit far out there, but high and low tide would be cool. Maybe find things on the beach at low tide. Or being able to build a raft :) Oh... how about a hot air baloon!!

Can I Run DayZ Mod? (POST HERE)

I assume that your "question" is sarcastic. If it isn’t, I’d be very surprised if you have frame rate issues.

    Weather and Environment in SA

That is awesome. All the hackers is the reason I stopped playing. Whenever I got to day 2-3 of surviving, some hacker joined and either dropped a nuke or did a thunderdome attack. I watched all the videos on the dev blog, it looks pretty awesome!

  13. This is probably one of the more entertaining threads I've come across on this forum. Thank you. I agree :)

What happened to good ol' DayZ?

Oh?! That is encouraging. Maybe I should run out a grab myself a PC before the SA release.

How much are you willing to pay for DayZ Standalone ?

I'd pay $100. It's about time to get a solid game that can be played for a long long time. But, I am not going to click that link :) Just cause.
  16. It has been many months since I last played Dayz. After continuous nuking and thunder dome attacks from hackers, I stopped playing out of frustration. Then I had to start travelling to Europe and Asia quite a bit for work, which didn’t give me any time to get back into it. Needing to understand iOS development a bit for work, I picked up a MacBook Pro and have since made it my main machine... no more Dayz. I now mostly play Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and sometimes Diablo 3, but neither compares to Dayz. For a few weeks I played Warz, but was banned without a reason – no replies to my emails or forum posts to figure out what happened. Now I am waiting. Waiting for the Dayz Standalone version to come out. As soon as the release date is announced, I will order myself a brand new gaming PC and get it ready for Dayz action. After finishing high school I went to school for Visual Effects and Digital Animation. Although I loved working with Maya, Softimage, Flint, Fire... I quickly figured out that I am destined to work with numbers and on the product side. What I am trying to say is, not only do I love the gameplay, but also appreciate the texture work and technology that makes it all happen. I have been in online payments for the last 15 years. Maybe one day my path will lead me into the game development space. Many of my friends and colleagues would frown if they knew I played video games. Playing for me is a stress release, it allows me to stop thinking about work. Without a distraction I would work until my brain starts hemorrhaging. Anyhow. I’ll continue to follow the dev blog and am eagerly waiting for the release date (like many others). AppError

    DayZ Standalone Discussion

I think DayZ Standalone could really be great. The mod was/is already pretty awesome. I am already really exciting just by reading the dev blog posts, watching the videos, and screen catpures.

What happened to good ol' DayZ?

Has that changed? No more tunder dome stuff? Or being transported into the middle of the ocean. Also not cool.

    Dayz clan

Awesome. I’ll need to find a clan for SA. You may want to re-post in the "Clan / Group Recruitment" sub forum. http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/forum/69-clan-group-recruitment/ But I really need a +18 clan or maybe there will be +20 clans.
  21. Hiding from other players in bushes and pine trees... need that. Docks... agreed. Way too dangerous and open.
  22. (*) Buy a new gaming PC (1) Run off beach (2) Find hatchet (3) Try to find friendlies or (4) Run into the woods and for smaller towns/villages

What happened to good ol' DayZ?

Great thread. It sounds like most of you are the "old skool players" who know how much Dayz can be when working together. I think key is (and will be) to find a good server and a good crew to work with. Stick together, work together, and try to help others. I stopped playing Dayz because of all the hackers. Got sick of being thunder domed after 2 days of surviving with my hatchet.
