  1. i have stopped using TIR with the game, it is too jittery.

I wonder if a higher 2000 hertz polling rate mouse would make any difference?

Such a shame, I'm sure BI could fix it if they tried...I would PAY MONEY FOR TECH TIME to get this fixed BI.

Pretty please, can I get a favour BI, from a first day KIWI DayZ Mod player? Man I even got my 75 year old dad playing it! 🙂

    Cheers

  2. I started playing DayZ at the start of the mod, been using Track-IR pretty much from the early days.

Currently on the stand alone i get jittering with slow speed track-IR head movements. YouTube link to capture I took https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQc9Pzo1hO8
It has stayed even after a fresh machine build, new mb, ram, card etc
    Machine is Z390 MB, i9 9900K, 32GB ram, RTX2080Ti. Asus 144hz G-ysync PB279Q, NO OVERCLOCKING
Tried replacing mouse, keyboard, tried fixed 60hz, tried 10980p monitor, tried G-sync on and off, all Nvidia settings are default
Does it on public and private DayZ servers
Replaced trackir unit with a new one yesterday, fault still there

New Livonia map does it too.

    Pulling my hair out now.

    ARMA 3 doesn't do it..perfectly smooth there

    Love this game..love Track-IR

Tried feedback tracker, no communication there

    Cheers

  3. Thank you for adding Track-IR back in...BUT, it is jittery as hell, literally jitters when my head is stationary or turning...I have tried everything in the settings of Track-IR to fix it to no avail. I have been using Track-IR for around 5 years in BI games

    Suggestion Dev team?

    Some feedback on trackir.

(just a note, dayz is listed as having full 6 dof support. https://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/games/)

I deleted all my old configs, reset track ir to make sure it was not a bad profile, reset all controls in game and verified files to make sure it was not something from my end.

It feels like there is acceleration going on and it is very stuttery regardless of v-sync and fps at a solid 120 locked, especially around the center of the screen. Like it seems to correct a mouse input..

Only Pitch and Yaw axis work/bound. I had a look in keybinds and and tried setting up track ir. I can not bind a +/- on the same axis so for example if I bind lean.

In Arma 3 I could lean L and R  and set up lean for the same Y axis and it used an analogue input. In the current implementation it works as a key/mouse input.  No incremental lean only hard lean and center.

There was no way to bind zoom in/out on any axis that I could find. I even tried disabling all inputs from track ir and only using the Z axis.

I have found as well due to the change in the player controller and the way fixed fov works on scopes, it is extremley jarring getting forced into a fixed fov when ads using track ir. We need variable fov to use track ir whilst using weapons to even be remotely useful.

Using track ir in fullscreen mode using a corsair K-70 keyboard and touching the volume wheel minimises dayz.. Using dayz in windowed borderless does not

It feels like trackir has not been implemented properly but rather as a keyboard and mouse input emulation. It feels nothing like how trackir has ever functioned in bohemia titles. It feels more like when Star Citizen brought in a temporary fix to get track ir working {using the mouse input to look around and not true track ir analogue input)

I have used track ir with aiming deadzone in 90% of my 4000+ hours in all bohemia titles and Dayz before the new ui was added and I understand that myself and other track ir uses are more then likely in the minority. However this has always been a big sell from bohemia. I feel like this must be looked at if you continue to support track ir.

@eugenharton  I recall reading somewhere from you about the fixed fov on scopes possibly not getting changed. Is variable fov on scopes and track ir analogue inputs coming back?  Because this tied in with track ir being fully functional and correctly using all 6 DOF.. As it stands it feels like a tack on just to get track ir working rather being fully functional from a consumers point of view.

Does the simplified player controller in its current iteration, affect track ir inputs functioning from using all 6 dof properly?

Like wise, I'm having the same issues.

  5. Yes, very odd.

I have a typical setup, all quality gear. Issue not present in ARMA 3

    i7 7700 @4.6Hz
    Asus Strix 1070 (Stock speed)
    Last years HERO Asus MB
    Asus G-Sync 1440
    Track-IR
    16GB G-Skill 3200 RAM
    Sennheiser 1000GSX
    All latest Drives

I turned each unit off and on to see if it was a hardware issue, no change, G-Sync on and off, different video port as out, no change. Even ran a different monitor and sound card, no change.
It appears like a typical RAM leak issue (not that it is), you know when it starts bleeding resources and then the symptoms start to show as it to falters a few minutes into an operation.

I'm still suspicious the issue is there, but masked by the lower cloud setting and the reason that most don't have the issue is most turn clouds down for better frame rates. The sync between weather and the world isn't robust as it could be me thinks?

No worries though, I've played Dayz from the first month it was in MOD with Dean, still love it.

  6. SOLVED BUT FIX IS SHOUDY:

Had to turn clouds down from max to medium, and when i do it from the config screen there is a major flicker on the screen between each setting...something not right with the clouds management in DayZ

  7. Tried 3 different 1pp servers, seems like after 5 mins they all start to micro flicker.

Is there any Bohemia people that can answer questions? Seems ARMA has no issues like this for me.
