  1. This one will run Dayz mod and standalone just fine if you want pretty good, but not maxed out. I should know, cos its the rig I bought last August for 50 quid more than it is now, and I am delighted with it! http://www.medion.com/gb/prod/MEDION+AKOYA+P2306+DR+PC+%28B-Stock%29/410018746

    The Unwritten Rules of Dayz

great vid my good man, but that guy obviously wasn't Russian, you could hear his American accent popping through when he got excited at the thought of KOS. His accent was so bad he made Borat sound like he was Putin. I don't mind American people, but in Dayz most are to be avoided. They just love shooting guns too much.

    The Unwritten Rules of Dayz

American players are more likely to try and KOS you than players from other countries.

Friendly? Forget that, I'd rather beat you with a shovel

You get my beans for Rhodes. Best character in the best zed movie ever made. Good vids too. Keep being friendly brother.

    -=BEARDS=-

I am 41 years young, but I bloody HATE having facial hair! If I go more than three days without a shave, im scratching at my stubble like a dog with fleas. However, I would LOVE facial hair growth in the game, but on the condition you could find a razor blade and have a shave at a pond for instance, taking up about a minute of your time. I hate having facial hair so much that even having it in-game would annoy me so much that I would risk my life to shave at a pond. Seriously.

    HELP PLEASE!

as creature says, dayz commander. Then install/update the versions that you want to play, i.e Epoch and overwatch. Remember to use the filter too, if you just want to play a certain version.

Just died of heart attack, incredibly stupid

hmm. Heart attacks sound promising to me, hopefully it will stop those Benny Hill type chases where a fresh spawn for instance sees another player and chases him for half an hour at full sprint swinging punches. A hungry/thirsty/wounded player suddenly cant just fully sprint after someone with some gear for an infinite period anymore or they might just drop dead! Its a bloody good idea methinks, having to rest between jogs, especially if you are a bit under the weather!

Just died of heart attack, incredibly stupid

Phillip, when you got the irregular heartbeat message, did you try sitting down and resting for a minute or two or did you keep on moving around? Im just guessing, but maybe you have to stop doing anything for a while until you get a 'I am feeling better now' kind of message?

1st kill, Did I make the right call?

Can you imagine how hard this game would be if the posters on this forum were as deadly as they make out? I am sorry folks, but sometimes I have to chuckle when I read post after post saying how sorry anyone would be if they came across them, reading this place I often wonder how I survive for 5 minutes, let alone 5 days! "you try to hit me with an axe, I will shoot you in the leg for your insolence" made me write this post.

1st kill, Did I make the right call?

There is being the hero, and then there is getting your first kill. Even a good guy noob subliminally wants to kill another player, just to feel that you can handle your own. I speak from experience. I never KOS, but in the mod I followed a bandit as a noob, and when he was looting a corpse, I took him out. Bullets in his unsuspecting back. at that moment I felt a huge release, even as a good guy player I needed to get a kill under my belt, just to feel that I belonged... hell, I even remember his name to this day  In SA, you don't get the chance to kill a bandit to get a kill out of your system, so I can understand the guilt a little bit more. I haven't killed anyone yet in SA, because I never meet anyone, due to hanging around the north. When I do get the chance though, Im looking forward to the rush, cos no gaming experience beats it! He will need to shoot at me first though, & that's why I think SA needs hero/bandit skins.

    I am a sniper now!

New player gets geared up and decides to KOS. Riveting stuff.

Under Siege: My last stand against 3 bandits.

Man, it must be weird playing dayz with the 'missus' Im always on at my woman to play if I can muster up the cash to build another PC so we can play together. The reason being I always play as the bloody hero, I cant bring myself to KOS. Put my missus into the equation though, & Im sure it would change me as a player. Protecting the missus would be a total game changer for me.

    Sleeping and infinite running

The sta the stamina system is whats ruining SA at the moment for me. When I sprint, I am always reminded of Superman 1, when a young superman was sprinting alongside a rushing train. The fact I can let my fists go and sprint from town to town so fast that my vision is blurry without getting out of breath, I bloody HATE it. I am not moaning, as I know it will be fixed. I just cannot enjoy the game until the sprinting bug is fixed! To me, its the most glaring mistake in the game bar none.

    My first experience

head north my son. water and grub plentiful in those parts, and no noobs swinging punches or shovels at you. The only downside is that you don't see other players much. I consider that an upside though! Once you are geared up, full of fish and beans and stuffed with water, all of a sudden running doesn't seem so much of a chore anymore... In fact you kind of hope that a fist swinging player wanders your way B)

    using ps4 controler

amen brother! If I had my own way I would still use an Atari joystick, that was the most comfortable controller I ever used. Wouldn't it be great if we could all play modern day games with our favourite controllers from yesteryear, that would be a great way to level the modern day playing field... Im sure the older players armed with Atari & Kempston joysticks would handle the modern day younger players NO bother!!!!

In the perfect apocalyptic dayZ world we would have...

Thousands upon thousands of zeds on every server, absolutely everywhere, so that meeting a fellow player actually becomes a relief, rather than the silly KOS culture we have right now. Forget bases and friendly zones, its the end of the world. Just survive, grab whatever loot you can while the horde are always just behind you... quickly make friendships, grab what you can when you can, epic survivor battles against all the odds with glorious deaths... that's what Dayz should be all about. dayz should be about how long you can last the end of days, not surviving it. In a nutshell, end of story.

    Pilot Helmet....rarest headwear?

I found one yesterday, and it made a nice change from my motorbike helmet. I only wear the damn helmet things anyway cos its supposed to help when you take damage from a zed or another player if hes punching you on the head. Is it even true? Cos I hate running around with silly helmets on like I am in a star wars movie. If I could run around with a simple wooly hat and shades on, I would. Proper old skool I am B)

    How do you dress?

I remember one day I was reading about football strips years ago(soccer to you americans) and they had done a study about what sells most. Younger fans liked strips with lots of different colours and patterns, the louder the better. Older fans liked plain strips, less different colours and quieter shades. You see a plain looking player with quiet don't-look-at-me gear with a gun and an axe, and no bells or whistles on like payday masks or gasmasks? Hes probably an older player, more mature and more trustworthy. Guys running around with all the 'cool' gear on, like camo and gasmasks and payday masks and stuff, they are probably younger, more cavalier show-off players who should be avoided. Its not an exact science, just my little take. You can tell a geared up players personality by what hes wearing, and if hes sporting cool gear and a scary mask, hes looking for an excuse to gun you down. Someone like me who is an older player? Im happy with a green hoodie and matching backpack to melt into the background while I run around. Sunglasses though are a different matter. Older guys are suckers for shades. So don't factor that into your thinking when judging a geared up player ;) Put it this way, every show off youtuber who uploads Dayz vids, they are ALWAYS clothed the same, military gear and gasmask/payday masks. Its the gear of the young gun who is looking for an excuse to put a bullet into someone. Trust me!

    Forced to kill

I hear you loud and clear my good man. It is starting to look like the hero/bandit ship has sailed, and its now every man for himself, unless you team up to form death squads. I am just a little disappointed that SA seems to be veering in the direction of out and out PVP with masks and tinted visors and stuff to make your player look bad ass, but I suppose its just down to me to adapt to being a nastier player rather than hoping things can only get better...

    Forced to kill

Fair play to you brother. At the end of the day there is no right way or wrong way to play this game, its just that I struggle to comprehend why in a game as rich and as complex as this, where you actually have a choice to kill or not to kill, a choice to help people instead of hurting people for once in a game that the vast majority see a player and instantly try to kill like they still think there is some sort of scoreboard going on, and people are impressed by their kill stats... I hope you now understand where I am coming from when you read my posts. Its nothing personal against KOS players, just my opinion to even the playing field a bit as the bad guys hold all the aces on SA at the moment IMO.

    Forced to kill

Nothing to do with being desperate, with no penalties for murdering of course an unarmed player will attack you for a gun. Now if these guys ended up with bandit skins for killing anyone they see with something they want, maybe they would think twice about being an asshole, and if they didn't and chose to continue to attack for no real reason, at least the thread starter would have known he was dealing with pond life just by looking at them and put a bullet in them instead of having to listen to them trying to reason before attempting to punch him to death. Right now playing the lazy spoiled brat way has too much rewards. Like I said on another thread though, the rocket man wants to make this game tough and unforgiving, so Im sure he has a plan to deal with these kill for nothing bores that have infested the game. Bring back the hero/bandit skins that what I preach...
