The Woes of a Long Survival
Jock McScottish replied to Mach1av3ll1's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Don't play with friends, and survival never gets boring. -
Thank you for the reply r4zor, and for all of you & your teams hard work. Loving the new zeds already!

thanks very much for the offer Cuch my good man, its much appreciated. Thankfully I managed to set it up, and popped on a short while ago to try it out :) Threw a shitload of flares about in celebration of the new patch!

I have been poppin onto UK410 in the last few days, tried to use the Mustyz launcher last month to try the update with no success, but I am a mere beginner when it comes to the important stuff so need a bit of direction! Will this update be on dayz commander in the next few days? Positively choking to try it out! See you all on UK410 when I get it sorted :)

My friend, with all due respect this thread is nearly two years old! the mod has come a long way since then... If you hate running try overwatch, you can instantly build yourself a bike there, and plenty much vehicles lying around, and then theres epoch where the zeds are about as deadly as a drunken bum staggering around... Its 2014 and you have options now ;)

How many folks went back to playing the Mod until SA goes to Beta?
Jock McScottish replied to AdmiralBull's topic in General Discussion
I bought SA with the mindset it would take a good year or two before we saw the finished product. Being an older gamer, you have more patience as time seems to fly by faster as you age! Besides, I was happy to part with twenty quid for an unfinished product out of customer loyalty to the rocket man for making the best game ever in Dayz mod. So what I do now is pop on SA every month or so and play for an hour to test it, and I must say I think SA is coming along at an amazing pace, its getting harder not to delve in full time! However, like a present that keep on giving, im sticking to the mod until January at the earliest, happy to watch SA mature into the beast it surely will become. -
when you die and then complain in chat
Jock McScottish replied to darkspecialistE4's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Funnily enough, when I was playing vanilla yesterday after I had a few beers(not recommended) I was merrily skipping through balota when some dude warned in chat that 'the person in balota running about better stop or I will shoot' me being full of beer thought the guy was talking to someone else, and continued on. He warned some more, but I was too drunk to care. He then took me out with one well placed shot, and after the drunken shock of my own stupidity, I was impressed by my killer. He tracked me for a good few minutes, gave me a fair chance before he clinically took me out for my drunken stupidity. So I popped back on to tell my killer well played, and typed to him in side 'nice shooting!' The guy then explained in side he was sorry for killing me when he realised I wasn't armed, he seen me whacking zeds at a tree with a crowbar and thought when he saw the smoke I was carrying a pistol. I told him not to worry, all is fair in love and war as they say! the moral of this story is, not everyone whines when they are killed, and not everyone who shoots you does it for the 'pvp' well at least in Vanilla anyway :) -
Killed a siren and her minions...
Jock McScottish replied to ASMS_Leader's topic in New Player Discussion
So you killed all the bad dudes, AND had them rolling around laughing at your one liners? What a guy! -
Fractures caused by punching?
Jock McScottish replied to BadAsh (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
The quicker you break your hands if you punch too much the better. I mean, how many people here have punched a door in anger, and your hand can hurt for days/weeks? but in SA you can punch a motorcycle helmet multiple times and you are fine... If you hit hard stuff with your bare hands there needs to be consequences. -
I still play the mod for now, I am happy to wait a good year to let SA evolve. but when I do pop on to check out SA's progress, I am lucky enough to see another player let alone a hacker! 36 hours played and I have saw a total of two players.

Need some honest feedback - annoying voice?
Jock McScottish replied to Vigilante_Gamer's topic in DayZ Mod Gallery
your aussie pal sounds like the guy from the 1980's castlemaine 4x ads :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpYNMQX41Gs and the castlemaine 4x adverts were cool as fuck! -
SA needs hero and bandit skins like the mod. To be able to act like an asshole over and over again without the penalty of a bandit skin, its just too tempting for too many people, and its ruined the game. No rewards for playing nice, and no penalties for playing dirty. The game needs hero & bandit skins to evolve, cos all of these anonymous KOS'ers have sucked the fun out of the dayz SA experience. A gaming experiment gone wrong dropping the hero/bandit/neutral skins.

Binman, when people decide to ignore you and carry on with what they are doing THAT is a sign of friendliness brother. When a guy sees me and ignores me on SA or the mod, I instantly respect them for 1. Not trying to kill me 2. Trusting me not to kill them. Killing players cos they didn't stop to exchange pleasantries? sounds to me you were looking for an excuse to be an asshole.

Is the DayZ mod still heavily populated? Steam has a great sale on Arma 2 so i was wondering.
Jock McScottish replied to wmike20052's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Dayz poster boy Frankie quickly left the SA and went back to the mod, if that doesn't tell you that theres life in the old mod yet, nothing will! -
So how much of a thrill do you cheaters get when playing DayZ?

Jock McScottish replied to Grimey Rick's topic in General Discussion
Don't listen to the scare stories brother, I actually pity hackers as they feel that they have to cheat to compete. If you are unlucky enough to run into one, just remember they are the scared ones, jealously killing real players cos they don't have the balls to play fair. People talk about hackers like they should be feared, when they are actually the weakest players on the server. Can you imagine actually playing Dayz as a hacker? I can think of nothing that would bore me more. -
Arma 2OA Crashes when i press more than 2 Buttons!
Jock McScottish replied to Maltimo's topic in New Player Discussion
Do not press Space, W & Shift at the same time  -
If you are playing Epoch or overwatch, then you will be killed on sight. Best bet of finding non hostiles is vanilla, they do still exist there! Only two days ago I was playing vanilla and only had an axe. Bumped into another survivor in a church, he was wielding a gun. he did the friendly dance to me, and I axed the zeds coming in while he patched himself up. He then ran past me back out into the town to continue his adventure. On vanilla, if someone doesn't have a bandit skin you are probably safe from them, unless they are a noob looking for their first kills.

No problem Sam, glad to help

In memory of my family. I'll miss you guys...
Jock McScottish replied to Grimey Rick's topic in Gallery
Rick, so sorry about the loss of your identical triplet brothers and your sister, lady gaga. -
Beans for making me chuckle :D

also remember, if servers aren't working, you probably need to update. just click install/upate on dayz commander and choose the version you want to update.
-
Mate, I have been playing the mod since last August, and like your good self cant bring myself to play as a 'baddie' the amount of times I have been murdered in cold blood, even the missus says I should KOS! However, when you meet a fellow 'goodie' it makes up for all the bad times, so keep your chin up, and don't let the bastards grind you down!

same as that brother. I lone wolf it, but I hate calling myself a lone wolf as the term makes me sound better than I am at the game. More like a loner! Survival is winning to me. The longer I can survive, the more I feel that I am winning.
