    Yep, he has gotten around

    Yesus the hacker

And that would be an interesting story if he didn't use hacking and killing anyone who wasn't comfortable being surveyed as a way to obtain it. That part hurt... I'm not that old lol. Far too often people assign some non existent emotion and read what they want. You seem to have who you think I am pegged in an off tilt way, I may not structure my posts like a 16 year old but that doesn't mean I'm some old fart that thinks the Internet was created by demons and should be burnt at the stake. I deal with cases of the unlucky ones who got targeted by the criminal lottery, or ignore warnings because they are not informed. Doesn't mean everyone is stupid, they just are trusting in others because they have good intentions.

Wow you miss the point entirely... I did not say if someone asks that question that means they are a hacker, nor did I imply that his threats carry any weight. I merely posted "watch out for this behavior" to inform others who may not have encountered him before or have not heard of him. My perception on his intention is based off my experiences; those who who interact with others outside the "norm" of behavior while doing something malicious usually have malicious intentions, I don't down play what that intention may be. Plan for the worse, hope for the best. Why is everyone getting their panties in a twist? Do you support hacking?

    Yesus the hacker

yes because criminals don't pray on what people would think as "normal" or "harmless" ever... The point of this post is not to report the hacker, we have done plenty of that, but to send an alert to be careful who you share information with, it may seem harmless but could potentially have your game key stolen(as seen in arma2) and you'll have to buy a new copy of the game. Where do you think these hackers seem to get an endless supply of game keys after they are banned? The way he goes about it is not a normal social way. He will teleport to your location, hold you up claiming he is friendly and the first thing out of his mouth will be "where you from", ask why and he will demand with threats of violence or promise of aid if you give the information to him. This may be a lead-up to question to obtain more information from you following your response, I do not claim to know what he plans on doing with the information, but it in no way is for good intentions. and just an FYI, I'm a professional in the security industry and have seen what has happens to people who mistakenly give information away thinking "there is no way they can do anything with just that", then end up being a victim of identity theft. --- Side note: Bumped into him again on the experimental hardcore server, same behaviour.

    Dexterity

So I was just messing around with my .DayZProfile to tweak some performance and I came across: floatingZoneArea=0 by setting this to: floatingZoneArea=0.30000001 I found I got some amazing hand dexterity in game, I was able to swing my handgun around and drop 3 zombies within 25m in a split second, tracking and leading a distant zombie and dropping it was much easier also. The trade-off is, when responding to a threat that you are not squared off to becomes a bit harder, as it should. I have been running around with this setting for a little bit now and it is night and day in aiming controls, I urge you to give it a try.

Stand alone attachment system = COD

I'm sure things are bound to change, I mean bipods can be folded out, that has to have a plan for more then just visual appeal. Suppressors don't function at all, I would expect that they will eventually reduce sound signature and muzzle flash/gas expulsion. I'm also hoping they add a little velocity. RDS/Holosights can have batteries added to them and be turned off and on but this does not actually change anything, the sights are always on. Maybe when dexterity is added the MP parts will increase dexterity instead of reducing deviation.

Stand alone attachment system = COD

Even attaching it to an M4 would require high-mount rings

    Yesus the hacker

its a warning to let people know if they are asked "where you from" you may have encountered a hacker. and the only reason why I think he is adamant about chasing people down to get this information has to do with gamekey theft for resale

    Dexterity

I agree with Dslyecxi on a lot of his view points but not on this one. Like stated above range of motion is much larger then in most fps games, arma2 had it close DayZ has it better since you still have full body control when your weapon is lowered or while moving with some hustle. I used to do boarding and breaching, that is the most dynamic and dangerous form of CQC since it is very tight/narrow, without having a good range of motion it would not be effective

    Dexterity

Yes, in-game settings don't do anything, needs to be manually configured through DayZProfile config currently. -Open with Notepad: Documents > DayZ > [name].DayZProfile -Scroll to the bottom -Change floatingZoneArea=0; to floatingZoneArea=0.30000001; (or whatever you prefer) refers to facing a target in your cone of fire, meaning you can swing your arms/torso without having to reposition your footing. I honestly find the opposite, less disconnect. I can move my hands around from the left to right, up to down in my vision without having to turn my head/body to do so. A very essential part of room clearing, dynamic assault and long range shooting is being able to swing your hands/torso without having to reposition your footing. There is a simple test for this: hold you hand out in front of you, now without moving your body or head move your hand to the left, right,up,down. Does your hand position change in your vision? yes it does. --- They could lock the free-aim but some may not like it, personally I don't see one or the other being an advantage, up to the user. I personally prefer free-aim because locked to centre is too ridged for me and I have a harder time shooting since my hands are accustom to the range of motion a real firearm provides. Others may find the aim swings too fast from corner to corner making it hard for them to get on target because they are comfortable with the drag effect of swinging your body around when you make small movements.

    Dexterity

I also forgot to mention; body movement is normal when your weapon is in low ready
  12. akafugitive

    Dexterity

yeah its forcing aiming dead-zone(ingame setting does not work), but unlike arma2 this is very fluid, you get fast movement when moving your hands, once your body starts to move you start feeling drag. Without the dead-zone that enables smooth movement you always seem to have the feeling of drag even when just looking around in small amounts, this corrects that clunky movement having it only effect you when you are making large turns(anything beyond about 60 degrees). Another advantage is the up/down controls, allows you to quickly bring your gun up to score a head shot on a zombie running full tilt at you, as well as lower your gun to get relief from large optics blocking your vision or scoring low torso shots to avoid friendly fire
  13. akafugitive

    How do you shoot?

    By squeezing the trigger

    Arma3 Third person fix mod...thoughts?

I agree, I think a fog of war blurry haze should effect the areas that are out of line of sight aswell
  15. akafugitive

    Dexterity

even just small things like being able to lower your rifle out of direct LOS while proned to scan the area without your scope blocking your vision are huge game changers

    Steam-Friend Spawnings!

I made a suggestion for a limited base style respawn mechanic, when they introduce base building. I agree that I don't want to see a battlefield style spawn on SL, just becomes too exploitable and reduces the risk for groups who want to wander just to terrorize others. One of your guys dies you need to regroup and waste time, that's what makes dayz exciting, dieing comes with a bigger punishment then a 30 second spawn timer. The statement that this may not be the game for you isn't far fetched, there are plenty of games that provide respawn on your buddies and a lot of the mainstream crap people are calling for. People who like DayZ for what it is intended to be want to beat you away with a stick because this is the only game that provides unforgiving penalties. You have other choices yet you want to change the concept of this one.
  17. They have ballistics in the game, zombies should follow ballistics damage calculations, not preset hit #. A .45 is more then capable of putting them down with a double tap at 50m. Saying a .22 should not kill instantly with a head shot or that a .556 is always less effective then a 7.62 just does not make sence with ballistics.Just bring them to the blood level matched with the player with lower chances to be stunned or knocked over from injury
  18. akafugitive

Do you think Zombies should be headshots only?

Easy to explain, the infection causes feral behaviors hence the instinct to be aggressive and feed. Side effect could be they have a massive increase in white blood cell count(able to eat raw meat), with lower brain functions causing a reduction to eye sight, they have an increase in sence of smell and are attracted to the pheromones produced by non-infected humans(the more you stress sweat, specially from fear the more they will be attracted to you)
  19. Or just a notebook with a pen, I can keep score myself. I've tried this with the pen and paper but you can't modify original writing well enough
  20. akafugitive

Do you think Zombies should be headshots only?

No, 86% died as a result, 2% unscathed, leaving 12% living hosts with lowered brain functions with extremely violent tendencies.I think they should be a little more tolerant then the average human due to lowered response from pain receptors and an increase to adrenaline response. Should not make them invulnerable to body shots though, they still are organic and have working vital organs.
  21. I was thinking along the same lines. Backpacks, vests, and cloths having an action menu option to "fold up" when empty allowing you to collapse them to a 12 item to place in your inventory but cannot be filled
  22. I made a suggestion that I feel would help solve a lot of the issues with reloading, including bolt cycling: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/171367-gameplay-mechanics-pt4-the-weapons/ (under Reloading)
  23. Have you seen my infected thread? I suggested exactly that awhile back.http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/171109-gameplay-mechanics-pt2-the-infected/

    HACKER

I have not seen that in the rules?.. I don't care really if he was spawning them or just taking them from the people he killed, the fact is; he teleports to people, can fire shotguns and handguns on auto fire, and is using these hacks to disrupt the game abruptly because he thinks he is untouchable.

    HACKER

I can confirm yes that Yesus is a hacker, and doesn't really seem to care that anyone knows or is making an attempt to try and hide his identity. I got hit by him on DE-4 If you want to see it for yourself:
