  1. The problem I have with night is that I join a server local to me and it's dark, every fucking day I play so I join a US server and it's nice and daylight. The cycle is wrong - everything else in the game is accelerated (starving, infection, wear and tear (in the SA), etc) and yet the days are real days. It's not hard to find a night server either. Somewhere on the planet one will be night - your ping may not be great but you'll still be able to join one and all night servers have practically nobody on them so ping isn't that much of an issue anyway. The game needs a 7 hour cycle say so we all get to appreciate the different times of day but keep the nights down to no more than 2 hours (so 30 mins twilight each side and 1 hour pitch black perhaps).

    Because after a year people can't get along so what do you do then - you introduce a mechanic that makes them think twice. Nobody is forcing them to kill another player but now there's a consequence. I've already suggested they just get infected right away because I've got no time for dickheads that kill freshspawns.

    Make the bodies only last 15 minutes before they disappear. Respawns shouldn't be able to run back to their body and continue as if nothing happened. Leave the body there long enough to be looted but not long enough for the player to return.

    Next hit a killer takes automatically infects hims - yes I know the implications but everyone's had enough time now that measures must be taken to enforce it. This is a fairly benign method - murder someone and you risk the possibility of hunting for hours and hours for AB's

    Got in yesterday and played for a few hours, Didn't get infected, found a couple of sterile wipes, a grenade a brick and a crashsite so I'm actually pretty well kitted out (though unsure whether the server has modded their files). How do i make a bean can grenade trap? The UI was a little laggy. I would click to eat food and 10 seconds later it would work and this was shortly after a server restart. Other than that things look good. The new UI i like mostly but I think you should have stayed with the markers for sight and sound rather than shading. Still trying to work out a lot of the things, but so far so good. :)

    I managed to dupe a baseball bat yesterday though I'm not sure how I did it. I was trying to pick a machete up at the time and the UI was laggy. I had an Ak74 too so both those slots were filled. When I had finished I had the machete and AK in my inv, i closed the inv and on the floor were two BB's. and for my next trick,....
  9. One tip for playing at night, if you have set all your settings to low, make sure your HDR quality is set to at least medium - helps you see WAY better.

  12. Not playing for hours and hours on a night server, If they could cycle 4 hours day, 2 hours night that would be ok. Besides, in a real zombie apocalypse, I'd be sleeping when it was dark.

  14. Kudos to the map creators of Podagorsk for the effort but it is boring. There's very little to see on it, not really anywhere to go. Once you have some gear what do you do then. No choppers, presumably few vehicles and a small map. Panthera on the other hand is a small map but looks amazing. Cherno imo is still the best map. plenty of places to go, vehicles if you want them, gorgeous views and it's huge. Podagorsk is like a continually hilly terrain with loads of trees on it, scattered grey barns and 5 small towns. The area for "the best gear" at the airfield yielded us.... wait for it..... MRE's!! Yep - all that danger and effort and all we got were MRE's. Now the 6 guys that came there to try and kill us fared worse. They lost all their gear and it was only through them that we came away with anything useful (and it wasn't much) but the fighting was fun. There's one tiny strip onto the airfield island and I suppose everyone goes their to PVP and I guess that's because there's nothing to see or do.

  19. Something that has annoyed me since they came out, and I'm sure others too, are the way tents get rendered in the game. If you take the entire map of Cherno, there are actually very few places to conceal a tent. From the air or from 100 meters out of the forest, tents show up like a beacon. The main issue with the tents is their texture which doesn't fit in with any of the textures within the game. I would ask for this to be fixed so they blend in more and that we have more than one tent - a brown one for dark backgrounds and a green one for green backgrounds. Realistically I could set up a tent in the country and nobody would find it. Tents become useless if they are easily found. Whilst Cherno is huge, the actual places to set up tents are very limited once you take a look at player movement across the map and understand that putting a tent in a tree is a useless endeavour. After this, you then take out the obvious places, on hill tops, along the edges of the map, etc and you'll find there are very few places to hide a tent. Now no tent is 100% secure but we all want to feel that where we set our tent we'll get some use out of it and the current system is awful. A better texture is required and taking it further, perhaps options to attach brush and branches onto it.
  20. How is it a joke, have you seen the map? You do realise that you can spot a tent in a wood 500m away without ever having to set foot in it right? Sounds like you haven't even played the game not to know this.

    So people keep saying and yet, when I try crawling I get seen from a zed from 50m (even though I have zeds all around me) out and I then have to go through the slow animation of standing. If I am crouching and using cover, inevitably a zed I can barely even see will spot me form hundreds of meters away. I'd like to see a video of someone sneaking through cherno getting no aggro at all and if by towns you mean those villages then they don't really count.

  25. I disagree. I'm playing DayZero which is more like the original dayz and having fun with my mates. We go through periods of playing and will take a small break from it but it's been over a year now - how long do you play a game for? Well good games keep you coming back to them. As for modding, no they shouldn't allow it at all. They can add things to the game themselves. If I was Rocket and I looked at some of the "mods" out there right now I'd be disappointed that my game had become the clusterfuck it is now. People played DAyZ for DayZ - there was only that mod out when it first started and it's that mod that brought everyone to the game. The fact that other people were able to take hold of it and make it into a million mods hasn't done anything good for the game that couldn't have come from if there was only one mod being developed over time. Could you imagine COD if there were 30 different version of the game? Good games don't need gimmicks added to them for anyone other than people who are addicted to gaming.
