So what do you think is the reason people stick to the coasts and how can we persuade them to venture into the unknown. Maps for one - just one map of the area, we don't need 8 ffs. Road signs on the maps are as they are written in the game - that's pretty fucking obvious right there. How about adding in a small section of story on the main screen, like a "You wake up on the shore blah blah blah" then hinting "There's a good chance a lot of the coastal towns will have been looted already..." kind of thing. I asked my mate at work who just started playing and he said he stuck to the coast because he didn't know what he was doing. That's fine, maybe that's just the way things are but how are you going to keep players on your server if people are just going to server hop when they find no gear. Restart every hour? Maybe spawn locations should be placed all over the map and not just on the coast. More diversity means more chance of finding some loot perhaps.

Not so much concerned with the server hopping, just seems odd that with all that map, these guys decided to just stick to the coast and waste 5 minutes waiting to go to another server. The issue is compounded with the stupidity of the map parts. Maps seem rare enough anyway and yet when you find one, it's pot luck whether it's the area you're in. Do we really need 8 maps and is the lack of them keeping players on the coast and do we want people using the cheat map (which they'll do with a lack of maps in game). Maybe they just find running up and down the coast the easy option.

You better get used to this as it's going to happen a lot. Don't get attached to your gear, that one other person on the server besides you will shoot you in the back when you stop to pick up gear.

What Dyslexci (i fucking hate spelling his damn name lol) said was in all actuality correct and I'm speaking from RL experience. Sat by a bush taking a break whilst on exercise these two civvy contractor were walking towards me from about 100 yards. I wasn't sat in the bush just laying on my bash hat )as a pillow) enjoying a bit of sun beside it. So as they get closer it dawns on me they haven't clocked me at all. Their eyes haven't once met mine and they're chatting away until they get as close as that guy in the video and I just rolled onto my side and they both shit their pants (and I just cracked up). That was probably the best ever lesson I learned about camouflage whilst I was in the service. I wasn't laying in tall grass, it was short but I didn't move and they weren't expecting to see me.

See the bush to the left of you just in front? Swing your gun level just passed it and it will be pointing at the opposite hill. Now scope in and check under those trees and think to yourself, "If I was under any of those trees, could I be seen from where I am now" If the answer is "Fuck me it's that obvious??!" then you're probably in a bad spot.

You could holster your weapon right before you get to the ladder in anticipation, that would get you up quicker. It's on your back when u get to the top (if you don't fall off it that is) and something I'd do in rl if I was approaching a ladder I was gonna climb.

How does that makes sense, "people who pay for servers have the right to do what they want with them"? So they get development work do they with that? A team of coders just for them to add in what they want? No, make the game and don't waste time allowing modification to it just add in better admin tools. If the options aren't there for them to change things, then it's not an issue. You put the options in, people expect it. There's no reason to allow people to change settings especially after the shit that went on in the mod. If BI develop this game how we think they will, we won't need other mods but we will want different maps which I'd be willing to pay for in a map pack.

So whilst running from Electro to Berezino the other day I'm running through the woods, about 5 people on the server, the woods break and I'm in some open rolling fields and spot a red roofed barn up ahead. So I decide to stop and I run inside and what do I see? A guy with no clothes on just laying on the floor right in the middle of it. He didn't respond to anything I said or moved so I thought he must be afk. Having some handcuffs on me, and finding a key in the barn, I cuffed him as I wanted to see the mechanic, dropped the keys right by him and went on my way. 225 sq km and I run into a barn with this guy? Dayz has some weird coincidences lol.

There are in game maps and they're fucking retarded. Here's how they broke them down. North East Map North West Map South East Map South West Map North Map East Map South Map West map Do we really need this many maps? I have a south map and an east map right now but I couldn't combine them and shouldn't items like maps, pens and paper really fit in 1 pocket, like maybe make each item a 5th of a pocket?

So you lost some virtual gear big deal. Presumably you hated every minute of running around and had no fun at all? You are going to loose your gear 100 times over and getting mad about it won't help. It's a game ffs and it's really not that important to get so mad over.

Take time to appreciate the work that went into creating the map, there's some really good views. Check out Three Valleys and Podogo Dam (however you spell it) - in fact, is the dam still up there? Well I know where I'm going next login!

I think the timer is too short as most times you can't just go rushing in, or trying to close the distance is too great. In a real zombie apoc, it's possible they'd find you sleeping and get you so when you log out, you should make sure it's somewhere safe.

I think it's safe to say if they spent 30 minutes just sat outside, you were justified in logging or you could have been there for an hour whilst these pussies just waited outside.
