    Yes, things like the raincoat should fit in one square if the don't rework the inv system and it should go "over" whatever you're wearing and not replace it. You got time to make a billion clothes in the art department, they got time to remodel the AV's to have 2 sets of clothing on.

    In RL you would want to be waterproof. Do you walk outside and get soaking wet in your normal clothes? To the people that say you have nothing 100% waterproof but you can have 99.99% against rain and gortex is your friend ;) I don't need loads of slots - I do want protection from the weather though. I'd like the option to wear normal clothes to run around in. My mate and I run all over the map. We just made our way from the NWAF down to Kamenka and across to the prison island and back again (after I rolled our truck by the base near Mishkino lol). In the MOD we ran everywhere. Having more clothing options only work when you have protection from the elements as well. Some changes I'd like to see as other have posted; 1) Inventory system rework. A stone doesn't need to be 4 friggin slots. A pen or one piece of paper are half the size of a canteen or pair of binoculars? Have you seen how much crap you can fit into a large backpack? Stamina and weight are much better as well as speed reduction for heavy loadouts please. 2) Different seasons, different temperatures. There's not way I should be able to run around wearing clothes for the winter when it's summer without over heating. Different seasons should bring hotter and colder weather. 3) Make more of the jackets waterproof, add a poncho that can also be converted to a temporary tent. The hunting Jacket needs to be waterproof along with a lot more things. 4) No piece of clothing should be "end game" it's a piece of clothing. More clothing options would diminish this stupid "end game" mentality. There is no "End Game" in a survival game - it "ends" when you lose the game and "die" - End Game should be focused around survival elements like a hoe or a shovel rather than a gun and a jacket. Being able to make a camp that stores your water, tools and food is far more important than what you wear. You leave things at your camp, and take with you what you need. Going to the NWAF? 1 canteen, some food weapon and ammo leaving as much room for collecting gear as possible. Going hunting, Weapon and some food and water plus a knife. Survival is what we should be concentrating on not gear. How is it that gear became "end game" over the premise of the game which is survival. End game gear should really be an Axe, some form of fire lighter, a knife, sewing kits and medical supplies but then if you're only here to pewpew, you won't understand that.

    Maybe we can talk about player numbers when the game is released in all it's glory? I'm hardly playing DayZ right now, neither are 10 of my friends. There are others waiting for something to be added that makes it a game. You can only plant so many vegetables and visit so many locations before there's nothing to do.

  8. One thing I keep saying for nights is to have a server setup that cycles days every 7 hours. 5 hours day, 2 half hours for twilight leaving about an hour of darkness. What this does is firstly, the 7 hour cycle means if you play at the same real life time each day, you'll always see the full range of times over the course of a week. The next thing it does is add in a tool that players can plan and use. You want to raid a base or town? Maybe you'll do it just before sunset or just after sunrise giving people the opportunity to use the dark as a cover (or maybe just to sit around a campfire and talk :)) With the dark time being only an hour, it's not a major issue and people will be able to plan around it anyway as they'll be able to work out when it's due. As a player, I'm no fan of the night but I wouldn't mind an hour and then get to experience the beautiful sunrises and sunsets the game will offer and make the world more immersive.

    When the world didn't have anything, it was the Scots that hunted and invented the Ghillie suit. The Ghillie suit should add bonuses for hunting. You walk to your hunting spot, you stash your backback taking with you an empty clothes and pouches. On the Ghillie suit goes, off you hunt and come back with pockets full of meat. Something like that anyway - have the Devs even considered giving us a bonus for hunting with it? If not, I'd say you are correct when you said "They added them to appease the mouth-breathing of the KoS-scrubs, nothing more."

    Anyone else miss the NEAF?

    I was there a couple of weeks ago - completely different now from the Mod where you'd get in the hills to the west and scope in to see if there were any zeds around. Had a few firefights in those woods (we set someone on fire lol - some bug with the code back then). Of course, 90% of the buildings were closed and there weren't all these towns and guns were everywhere, as were stashes and tents. What people don't do is think when they come across the question about "end game loot" In the mod, everyone had stashes and tents filled with guns and ammo and were fully geared as soon as they died pretty much. Once people have collected their stuff and hidden it, they won't be going NW they'll be going to their stashes so who cares where the guns are?

    This is bullshit then. If there's a chance of getting ill from eating cooked meat then why bother eating cooked meat. May as well just eat canned food and vegetables and stay safe.

    I'd like to give a proper RP server a go - I might check them. It's a pity you can't choose different animations like walking and mannerisms so you can really get into character.

  15. I can't talk for anyone else but for me and my friends, we play for a couple of weeks and then take a break for a few months. I refuse to play a broken/unfinished game anymore than to test out the new features. The people that have been playing this non-stop are going to burn out before the game's released and then miss out on all the features - for this reason, we dip into it. Also, no zombies and no animals or decent AI plus other annoyances make it a game we don't want to play right now. The new rendering engine was meant to be in the 1st quarter this year - that has massively gone over now so there's another reason - not able to keep to schedule. When there's something to play, I'm sure more people will play but right now, there's nothing to do except try on new coats.

    It's amazing to me how BIS can make Arma 3 and then also make DayZ and then, for some unknown reason, in one game you can walk as you would in RL and in the other, like some retarded slug. What the actual fuck am I meant to be doing with this gun as I walk in this weird, slug,snake like motion. You don't walk like that. I know, I've done it in RL once you have the rifle shouldered and your eyes looking down the sight, it doesn't move like that. And what is with the speed??? LMAO my grandma moves quicker and she's dead (RIP). How is it that BIS, who make a FPS battle simulator for the US Marines and the Australian Army (VBS) and make OFP and the Arma series, can come out with this. Is this some kind of weird joke? ;)

    Non taken and no, I haven't done so though if my memory is correct, they made it like this whereas before it was different so somebody made a decision to have it the way it is now. It's been like that for ages but why was it ever implemented to begin with?

    It's not really anything to do with training, it's more of a natural thing you do with it. You don't train to hold a gun a certain way when you're moving, you train to do drills mostly, over and over until they're second nature. The difference in training that transfers to gameplay could be that a non-trained soldier (not necessarily) would be moving in a dangerous area with their gun down and looking around with their head unlike what a trained soldier would be doing. Try it yourself - If you don't have a gun, use a stick, or anything you can press into your shoulder and walk around with it. See how easy it is and how quickly you can move.
