It's getting confusing so let me restate. You do require meat in your diet, or a substitute read the following.... (it's from the original link) So what my argument for eating meat is, in a zombie apocalypse staying healthy is way more important without access to modern day living. Broken legs are in dayz, without Vitamin D they will break easier. Now you could find supplements, but not for long. At some point they're going to run out or go off leaving you with what you can farm and kill. Meat also contains way more calories than vegatables. Nuts have a shitload of calories in them too but aren't in the game. Therefore, I think it's reasonable to say that people will need to eat meat to stay healthy. I know it's only one link, but you'll need to cite a source for your claims before we can go any further if we wish to continue arguing over whether we need to eat meat or not to stay alive. I suppose the question should be, "In a zombie apocalypse, will eat vegetables I farm be enough to sustain me" but I doubt anyone did a serious study on that one lol ;) That would have been my 2nd choice lol

Oh I forgot. I tested some rest times. I sprinted for 30 seconds with my fists up and then down and then stopped Prone, Crouched, Standing. I found the only going prone saved about 8 seconds on recovery which I think was 50 seconds to stop breathing heavy whilst crouched or standing and 42 seconds to recover whilst prone. There was no difference in times for fists up/down.

RL puts arbitrary limitations on you and the human body cannot sustain itself without some protein from meat can it? Don't vegans need to supplement their diets? Also at some point all the tinned food will run out or go off so you will have to hunt for food and grow crops.

I dunno - hardly seems like a lot of fun and if it's only for 30 seconds it's not worth the dev time. I think we'll just have to assume that the time we aren't playing dayz is when our avatars are sleeping and pooping.

New and varied buildings are never a bad thing and each major town really should have a unique building. Cherno has the Hotel which they should open up and the clock tower ....which they should open up.

There should never be a game mechanic where it forces you to sit still doing nothing for any length of time. I don't know how you would implement such a feature and you can't keep your av in world when you log off for someone to just find. How does it work in Minecraft?

Rare items are going to be hidden away in peoples bases. You will also find people who do nothing but run out to find as many M4's, whatever to hoard in their bases. I can see it now, one day you'll come across this....

If they're adding wind to the game they need to make that a factor in hunting so you have to be downwind of your prey. This is where I would make it so you have to eat meat off an animal - so if you didn't, you would loose X amount of health. So say you only eat canned food and veg and ur max health is 5000, unless you add meat to your diet you'll only ever be able to max it at 3500 (as an example). This would force players to hunt for food or suffer. Another thing you could do, if the health thing isn't to your liking is make it so you can't sprint as far as you could when you're healthy and you take longer to recover from running (affects your aim). I can't wait for the day I stash my rifle and pick up my bow to go stalking animals. Having to follow it until I find a good spot to kill it then having to sneak up on it, getting downwind of it and having to make sure the shot counts. If it's a challenge it will be fun. It will be better if it's one of those things the Devs make hard so you have to learn the nuances of the system to be a good hunter.

I found with a bipod, at 300m it hit exactly where I put the 2 bullets I fired. Hardly a rigorous test I know. The SKS at about 200m mayeb less I couldn't hit a zed with 20 shots and I've yet to try the mosin.

Doesn't the sks and mosin KO on the first hit? OP are you prone and still when ur getting shot? Are your targets static or moving?

I don't get these threads where people complain about the state of a game where not even half of the features have been added in. Everyone knows the state of the game right now - there is nothing to do except roam the countryside, encounter other players and work out how the game works. Everything in the OP is moot. It's like sitting in a car that has been half built. There's no wheels yet or an engine but the horn works, the steering wheel turns and when you make a "Brrrrroooommmmm" noise it echos around the garage. After 100 hours of this you jump out and complain that it's no fun and it should have an engine in it and a sunroof.

If you drop it on the floor and pick it back up, does that fix it? I had this issue too but since the last patch it hasn't come back (running a laptop using Intel HD graphics lol). Another thing you should try is setting all your graphics to low and then work up to see if you can find a setting that is causing it. Once you've done that you can let us know what the fix is :)

"Only if they both know that the other is there" then yes, they have an equal footing however everyone here knows this never happens and is a fantasy scenario - I should have been clearer on wanting to refer to reality so that was my fault for not doing so but well done for proving my point for me and showing us that in fact, there is not an equal advantage. BTW I'm 35 and had a 3some with 2 blonde strippers at the weekend whilst doing copious amounts of cocaine. WTF does this have to do with anything you ask? Absolutely nothing.
