I like it when new players come on the forums making up stories about how they killed 300 freshie's because they got shot in the face and rage quit, only to come here and make things up :)

There should never be any kind of timer. I'm not going to play for 2 days waiting to die I'd just kill myself. Infection should be like 28 days later. You get bit, you get infected. You get a black death screen whilst your AV is taken over by the AI, does a human changing to infected animation then joins the rest of the zed server population. Yes Zeds need to be harder and in EVERY zombie film one bite and ur fucked. Why is Rocket being such a pussy about this?

There's no fanbois here really. I do see reasonable and knowledgeable post rebutting the utter shite coming out from people who don't know anything about game development. I haven't heard one person say DayZ is the greatest alpha ever released and if BIS mess it up and make it shite nobody is going to play it (unlike WarZ - now there's a bunch of fanboy idiots). The fact is as it stands right now is DayZ SA is a good game. It plays well and thousands of people are playing it, almost non stop when it isn't even finished yet. Personally I'm limiting my play time on it but the core experience seems solid enough to me so far and things like weapons and zeds will get fixed. I certainly see no doom and gloom. There's no evidence they're not going to be able to deliver what they want and maybe even more - I certainly wasn't expecting to have to hunt food, just run up to a cow and whack it over the head but now, who knows what we'll need to do.

Gargantuan maps?? What Planetside are you on they're tiny unless they changed something since I stopped playing a year ago?

Those days are long gone. Sorry but that is never coming back and dayz was never a good game to begin with, it was a great concept but it was buggy as hell and clunky as fuck. The concept has now been taken up by other companies and the market is becoming saturated but as we've all played this game for years, the original feeling of the game isn't coming back. The SA is exactly where the game needs to go for less bugs and smoother gameplay.

Sawn off and normal shotgun should kill instantly within a certain range, the normal having more range, less damage.

And in those huge battles player would render 5 meters from you - did they ever fix that? Also, compared to Arma, PS2 map size is laughable. a 1000 players on that would be a shitty pvp fest and how are they going to handle hundreds of zeds too and griefers burning down everything?

That depends on how they implement shooting. They need to add in the following. Bullet drop bullet spin Wind Humidity bullet quality (maybe) Breathing (so you have to hold your breath) Proper scopes to dial in There's a reason in RL some people aren't marksmen - the same will spill over here too if they make the mechanic robust enough.

I dunno. I don't like the thought of crafting a ghillie suit and having it taken off my body and someone else using it. My idea of crafting though is being able to take individual branches or grass and attach them to the base suit you craft. So you craft the suit and it has attachment points. You then forage for the pieces and attach them to it so you're making you're own, unique suit. The longevity of it should last as long as they would in real life. How long does it take for vegetation to go brown and dry - a week? The pieces should have maybe 7 states of decay and each day (not game hours but actual rl days) it drops down a state?

I'd prefer easier access to a map so I can make a range card and better tools to draw on the map (sometimes I'll make my own range card if I'm ever covering my friends from one spot for too long but then i get board and add in a dragon fighting some knights and the whole, whilst looks cool is ruined.

I played the mod for over 2 years and can't remember being killed by a sniper - maybe once myself and that's it. Along with a craftable suit I want sniping to become more realistic - or I should say bullet physics to become more realistic which in turn will affect long range sniping. BTW I don't snipe in DayZ either but I like having the option and it needs to be challenging. The issues with "snipers" in first person shooters is they have it way too easy. All they have to contend with is bullet drop which is BS. Watch any Ultimate Soldier Challenge ( ) and I think one of the first tasks is to leg it to grab a sniper rifle and then get back and hit a target 200 yards away (not even 200m). Everyone of these episodes I've watched they always take a few shots to get on target - in DayZ only a noob would miss a target at 200m. So shooting is way too easy and why snipers are hated so much in game. If they had to adjust for wind and bullet spin as well as humidity then you would suddenly see a load of whining noobs on the forums. Long range shooting should be a skill that is learned so when (if) you get taken out by a sniper, you at least understand s/he spent some time learning to shoot.

I was going to agree with you but then I was thinking no, let there be a generic one that isn't that good that lazy people can use but let us craft one meaning those of us willing to take the time to make one have a far superior one. IDK how plausible this would be to code in though but it would be cool if they could.

I like your longer sequences too, the 5% will make thing s a little longer and more relaistic.

Ghillie suit was made for hunting I think and is used by hunters today. It just so happens it works against human animals just as it does against every other species of animal. Even wildlife photographers will use one.
