Herp Derp.....

This is true but for a player like me, I like dealing with whatever spawn I get and I don't suicide. If other wish to kill themselves they don't understand the game and are cheating themselves out of the experience - fuck em.
-
The bandana can be used as rags i'm thinking? Good to know the other two things too :)
-
What happened to the timer? I logged in for an hour the other day and changed server and only had to wait a minute? WTF is up with that??
-
I was going to mention this too - if this is going to be the new loot spawn mechanism then you have to have spawn locations across the entire map. This strikes me as abvious so not sure why the devs haven't changed them.
-
Yeah try server hopping private servers and see where that gets you.
-
I know isn't it great? You'd have to team up to get the guy and imagine the elation you'll feel when you do that. Of course, you play on a 3rd person server so it'll be harder and less realistic to do so but you can always move to a first person one ;)

Yep the game for a new spawn should be hard. The environment should be as deadly as other players and survival must be a challenge. When you can just run from building to building and gear up in an hour, where is the challenge in that? That's not a survival game, neither is it one when I'm running around with more food than I can eat. Tinned food needs to become rarer and rarer as the game progresses. They control the hive, they need to make things appear less and less making it so u have to rely on hunting, etc to eat. Another thing I'd like to see is more importance on how long you have lived. So when you log in, it says something like "You've survived 9 days, 5 hours and 29 minutes....can you go on?" Make the time you've survived noticeable, make it important so players have a goal to live as long as they can. It's a survival game so advertise that aspect more (christ give out those stupid steam award thingies for "1 day", "1 Week" etc)

And I can't wait to hear them complain when all of a sudden their game changes to the actual game that Dean has said he's always going to make, the one they agreed to alpha test. I can't wait to starve to death either! lol

Oh so this is what all this shard thing is, in that case then it's good and ur right about the mod. As a player u could load an external map and see where every player on ur server was too. I'm not looking forward to private hives because Rocket has stated there will be modding available and we all know how wonderful that worked for the game when Epoch is the most popular mod right now.

Not to mention it's a different environment and makes the map interesting. I loved the feeling of isolation, thinking i'd got myself completely lost only to find I had navigated myself correctly when I saw a lm. It was also fun running around the map edge trying to find player camps, etc
-
A varied landscape is interesting. If people are bored because they don't like walking and can't appreciate a good map when they see one and only want to get into a gun fight then DayZ is not for them. They should gtfo imo.
-
You should care because it unbalances the game. Where you're meant to be in a game that has a gradual progression towards gear, and gear is the economy in dayz, it's upsets the economy. If you have players that server hop and in an hour are fully geared you're introducing an increase in the items on that server. This might seem a minor thing and it probably is but there's also the break in immersion or dying unfairly if you're in an area you cleared out and some guy "hops in" and you get shot in the back. Also if u stalk players, they cry larger tears when they had to spend 3 hours looking for all their gear ;)
-
When u run a private server it's easy to add any weapon you want to ur mate inventory. You control the hive and you only need to add the items to the database. It's what happened before and it was piss easy to do - we ran a server for a while (and no, we didn't give ourselves anything but it was obvious once you looked at the d/base how easy it was).
-
Wow, is this seriously how you post in a forum that has a suggestions thread specifically for....making suggestions to put in the game. Hey if you're happy with shitty copy and past cities eating up the once brilliant landscape then I can only try and advise you to try a little more imaginative thinking.
-
And what does it matter if there isn't player interaction that doesn't mean remove it. In that case let's get rid of the sky, the sea, the fields and lakes and ponds and unused roads and condense the map down to a fucking square kilometer because COD Kiddy there wants to run and gun
-
Dunno if you know this but the cherno map was taken from an RL location and in real life, it is a river that runs around that area instead of the sea... I think this is the RL map with the river.
-
This reminds me of a table top rpg I used to play called Twilight 2000. In that you could make ethanol and methanol to fuel your cars and I think that would be awesome to include in the game. You first have to grow the crop then distill it and store it. If anyone played Banished that's pretty much going to be the way of things in a zombie apocalypse.

Well by that I mean they have nothing to lose and everything to gain. When you don't have a gun and they do, of course you're friendly. So when a noob runs up to me yelling "friendly" I'm think no shit! WTF are you gonna do anyway. The moral is, never trust a guy shouting "friendly" when he doesn't have anything. On the other hand, if a guy has been watching you for a minute and could have shot your ass at any opportunity he chose and then he tells you he's friendly, most logical and intelligent people would assume he really is since he could have killed you a minute ago. I used to do that in the mod, watch a guy for a minute rummaging around then say, Hey I've been watching you for the last minute but didn't kill you, i'm friendly" - the challenge then came to working out how many seconds it would take them until they killed me - mostly under 10 lol
-
People are always friendly when they don't have anything lol I like the idea of more interaction because it makes more of a game. As long as they can make no ghost zones it could work.
-
I haven't really played for about 3 months, logged in twice, in that time I can chop down trees, craft more items, zed pathfinding is better, server architecture is better, i can build a camp fire, hunt and eat animals so no, it's even more shit now than it was.
-
I dunno - I remember reading a while back they couldn't make the map physically bigger but that was before the engine overhaul. Personally idk if a bigger map is necessarily better. There needs to be a certain population to a certain size of map or you'll never see anyone, or it's too crowded. Maybe other maps would be better? * * * * * 0 * * So if cherno is at 0 (Each * is another map), you add maps as DLC perhaps and when u cross over to a new one it loads you into a new server or you choose a server and then it puts you in the same point you left the previous map at. IDK if this would be a better solution but I don't think there will ever be one huge map we all play on (that would be pretty awesome though lol)
-
Care to explain this claim? ROFL
-
Yeah a lake would be cool too - anything anyone has suggested as unique places would be really good and yet the map designer apparently wants to shit out cities all over the map - where's the creativity that went with the original map gone and why aren't we getting the things we're suggesting? Why isn't Green Mountain being developed more? It's all start to smell of lazy.
