Well that's easily disproved right off the bat, isn't it. You're playing the same game, on the same server and talking to them, ergo, you are playing with them - just imagine you both have walkie talkies if that's to difficult for you. This would mean that as soon as you lost sight with them, you suddenly would be "playing alone" - yeah, right. Play like you want but you're the one wasting time and play by suiciding though you probably want to band together so you can go pvp, right?

A private hive uses the servers own private database not managed by BIS, so an admin can do whatever they want with the database. This is what we had in the mod and why admins could spawn in loot, change loot tables, see player locations etc as all that information is in the database which they controlled Yeah, seeing player locations won't be abused AT ALL will it. Even though they're going to allow this, you only need to look at what DayZ is like right now to see what it's going to become in the future. I guess Dean really loves Overpoch.

DayZ is going strong right now with no modding at all. See what happens when you don't fuck with the game so much you split the community. Right now everyone is playing the same version and only half the content is in it.

Yes I play 99% of the time, in any game, with friends. We talk on teamspeak as we're moving to the point we've allocated to meet by and we all have some gear too. This is because we want to play the game, not kill ourselves for the sake of a few minutes of not having our AV's next to each other.

You're going to be that butthurt you won't ever support them again? Modding is why Epoch is the most played DayZ game now. All modding will do is take away all the infection problems, have 1000 barracks and starting gear. As it is at the moment it's unspoiled and there's no reason BIS can't make a Hardcore hive either, or produce new DLC like maps.

The constant respawning to get a better spawn probably takes the same time, except by not suiciding you'll have some gear now. But it's ok to play like a pussy too ;)

Doors should be randomly locked then. When people leave buildings, they lock doors.

Perhaps people should start looking at DayZ as a survival game rather than worrying about the guns in it. If the guns are the most important thing, what does that say about the rest of the game?

It was stated clearly well over a year ago that there would only be so many items in the hive database and yeah, survival's a bitch - suck it up ;)

I seen my mate appear and it was a lot longer than 5 seconds before he had control. Even if it is 5 seconds, why are you vulnerable at all. It's bullshit to be affected by the game when you're not playing the game. Come release day when your server crashes in the middle of a city and you spawn back in but only now, there's 500 zombies in the city and 50 of them have seen you spawn, you think you'll even last 2 seconds?

You're never more than 20 minutes away from your friends and there's an adventure to be had getting there. Suiciding to get a better spawn to get better gear means you already lost the game. You failed to survive. If people are too pussy to survive an area they don't like I don't have an issue with it, though. So we should tailor the game around your playing habits?

Over 100 a month!? No - I don't think so. So I'll pay £50 for a terrabyte HDD - I think that will hold the game and the SQL database it uses and half of my porn collection too ;). Add a 160/12mb connection and a dedicated PC and why are they charging over £1200 a year for one game again?

I don't think you could call this a sandbox game. You can't do anything you like. You are restricted to what you can do in the game. I can do anything I like in Battlefield if I want, except all the things I can't. Minecraft is sandbox, you pretty much can do anything. DayZ is constrained to crafting a few items. Now to the end game which is....survival! DayZ is a survival game right? So the objective is to survive. Whilst you might find it boring once you're geared up, what do you think you'd do in a real ZA? You would go through your daily routines of hunting, cleaning, maintenance, security, etc. Right now all the features aren't in DayZ so we're all playing an incomplete game but you're still going to have chores to do. This is why they need to promote the "how many days you've survived" aspect of the game. My idea of the final game will have you hunting, fishing and farming food. Canned food would be rare and you'd need to make sure you have plenty of medical supplies to fight off infections etc. You would need to boil water to sterilize it and have it stored, like food. Clothes would need to be repaired (though making clothes from skins would be cool). Would you find a fortified place to set up your base or would you stay mobile with a few tents? How will you secure your base? What will you do when other players are spotted ehading towards you? Death in a survival game is failure - how long can you keep going for?

I think there's an argument to be made for less "military" firearms and more focus on melee weapons and a few firearms. It's two different types of game. The one where there's less firearms and more melee would likely mean greater teamwork once the zed population is increased. You and your mates battling through the streets with axes does sound pretty cool. Or having to defend a building as they batter down the doors (which is why we need a spear to jab the fuckers in the face). It's a pity they can't do 2 hives, one more focused on melee and a few weapons and one focused on more weapons. I'd play both I think they'd be a lot of fun :)

LOL so you're playing a "survival" game where you "suicide"? The entire game is based around scavenging for supplies meaning you have to walk places.

Nope this is ridiculous. I know how to read a map, it's not an issue for me but deliberately using a different language to confuse players is beyond moronic and pointless anyway since all the web maps have both names. It's you not your avatar - what does that even mean? That by surviving we change the entire language of every map sold in that country? Do you even realize how fucking stupid that is? lol

I don't have an issue with people suiciding to get a better spawn but I don't really know what a better "spawn" is. I play the game to survive, not acquire gear so if it takes me a few hours to get decently geared I'm not fussed.

To which I then said, do you want to be down the end of the range with your head where that balloon is? Want to argue that it's not going to effectively go through your skull?

I logged in with my character since the wipe, on top of a hill in the middle of woods and I was just crouched down, not moving then 10 seconds later.... "You are dead"
