If they can't fix duping then they might as well give up and I can't believe for a moment that it cannot be fixed. Do MMO's suffer from duping or any other game?

They removed Pobeda Dam however you spell it. Why would they remove that to put in more shitty, copy&paste towns. You're absolutely right. They offer nothing of value because they just look the same so one town is every town now in Cherno "+". It's a bit like those apartment blocks - does anyone else find them the most boring and awkward things to search? Nerd (with nerd voice): "My new algorithm has come up with a floor plan so intricate that players won't be able to distinguish which rooms they have looked in." Rocket: "Awesome!" Nerd: "Add to that I'm going to allow only one can of beans to spawn randomly in the entire building will totally fuck with them!" Rocket: "Brilliant!" Nerd: "And the icing on the cake? Rooms you think you can squeeze inside but no matter how "sideways" you try, you'll never get inside....muwhahahaha!!" Rocket:"Wait, so you stole that from my shipwreck algorithm?" Nerd: "Ooh is that a balloon?"

What exactly makes Standalone so taxing on your system?
Jex replied to anderswhk's topic in General Discussion
None of these games have a draw distance measured in kilometers either, do they? DayZ renders at least 2 km? on an unoptimised engine as well on a game in Alpha. Why are people confused over DayZ running so badly? -
Eating and drinking system - Please, just give it up.

LMAO News just in "A Pretty good look" is the new standard in science observation. Done away are rigorous tests and observations. Now, scientists need only rely on "a fairly good feel" for evidence when conducting research. New Scientists put out a statement "Well this will save us a bloody lot of time" Sorry, your biased viewpoint does not qualify, even in the slightest, as "proof". Go away and conduct a year long study and then maybe you'll find some real data to work with. -

You're just full of assertions, aren't you! ;) -
Unfortunately, there are no "far away" places anymore since they went mental with adding cities for some reason. I love the idea of growing crops but I'm not fussed about making it overly complicated. What I'm more interested in is forcing people to have a balanced diet which I believe it's what they're aiming for. Rocket did say something about that at the start of development. I'd much prefer they make the farming simple but the food/health/survival complicated. This would affect everything. How strong your bones were to how quickly you healed to more chance of getting knocked out / infected to how far and fast you could run,m etc.

I miss the global text chat channel that was in the MOD

They should just add in ACRE which is brilliant. ACRE uses Teamspeak but there's no reason Devs can't make their own version but in essence, ACRE you can set your voice to whisper/normal/shout so you can be heard at different distances I think which is needed - if I'm in danger I don't want everyone in 100M hearing me say " you sneak around the left whilst I distract them...." As well as that, you can change channel on the radio and it will start to break up when you get further away from each other. Game Dev's really need to sort this shit out now FFS. How long have we been using voice comms now? How shit are all the games at it? Hello - we buy the games give us what we want! -
Private Shard Pricing is Outrageous

No they did ruin the game. The game is a survival game in a zombie apocalypse scavenging for gear. That is the game. 1000+ vehicle and barracks, gear everywhere plus dumbed down zombies that are a nuisance is not a zombie survival game. Modding does not always make games better, no matter how many times you keep asserting it. Presumably Armed Assault 2 unmodded is another version of DayZ but without zombies and gear to pick up as well, right? There comes a point where something completely diverges from something else and is no longer part of the original. This is why you control your vision of the game so it doesn't turn into a sack of shit like the mod did. -
Errrr it's 5 ways - 4 has a second option at the end which would be 5 types of player and you're still wrong 6...... Those players that are friendly then trick you into doing something stupid so they can laugh at you 7..... those players that see you from miles away and start taking pot shots just to see you dance 8..... The player that sees you, can kill you at any moment but lets you walk on by and you never even saw him/her 9.... the guy that sits over looking city X just to watch people fight it out in the streets below, sipping a beer. 10......................

Except in the case of DayZ mod, mods did ruin the game. -
Yes I know the frustration lol but making them learn themselves will stop that. If you're their sole source for navigation they're never going to feel comfortable in the game and you'll always have an issue meeting up. Berezino to NWAF is a 20 minute run. Picking a midpoint between your group and meeting there is a fun thing to do. Considering there's no end game you have all the time in the world to meet up so maybe you should take them on an orienteering course to get them more familiar with the map - should be a pretty fun thing to do. Helps to know where you are as well if you die and spawn close to your friends to back them up.
-
But I don't understand then where the point of distance comes in that constitutes not play together. At what length of separation are you not playing together. If you had to split up and had walkie talkies, would you still not be playing together even though you were in separate towns? If we were in planes, and you were 30 miles away from me, would we still be playing together or not? Where is this arbitrary line?
-
You can throw as many ad hominems as you like it won't make your argument any more valid. So running around the map is not playing the game huh? I think most people here would agree that's the vast majority of the game.
-
That's not what you said. Here, let me show you what your main argument was which you're now trying to say isn't.... "I like to meet up with friends and then play. With friends. Because talking with friends while playing alone does not count as playing with friends." Playing with friends mean playing with them naked or geared does it not. You're main point was "playing with friends" which you are NOT doing if you are geared and have to meet up, just like you would if you were not geared. So you're quite happy to play alone so why do you need to suicide again?
-
This is bollocks, as is the 54 hits to die from a zombie. The point of the game is to survive, this mechanic is not a good thing.
-
Does anyone dislike the "no military stuff" agrument?
Jex replied to stielhandgranate's topic in General Discussion
But there is a difference. WarZ took away things that were in the game whereas DayZ hasn't introduced them yet. You take away things like that all of a sudden it changes the game completely. It also shows what a shit game WarZ is if there's nothing to do other than pvp. The premise of DayZ is surviving a zombie apocalypse. If all you want is PVP then you should find another game to play. The weapons shouldn't matter so much for the actual game. As long as they're effective in taking out zombies, that's what's important. Personally I want a spear for zeds. I'd be quite happy with the blaze rifle for my primary and a bow to go hunting. If they can make the zeds a constant threat, where you have to run into a house and barricade it because a horde of 50 zeds spotted you wouldn't that be great? There you are with your mates fighting them off. As long as the threat is there it's fine but it needs balancing so it's not happening all the time but enough to keep you on your toes. I highly doubt we'll get this but it would make the game so much better. This way you'd need a melee to conserve ammo. Only pulling your rifle out when you were being overrun. -
I'm hoping that there will be a wipe when the game is finally released. No reason to have everyone geared up already on the first day you actually play it. They better have lots of bands and hot girls lining the streets and confetti too on release day. I want something big, not some naked dude trying to punch my in my nuts.
-
Is your tent staying up?
-
But then you're not playing together if you have to run to meet each other!!!! So basically you can play apart if you have gear which demolishes your argument about suiciding so you can "Be with your friends" So now once you're geared up you don't care much for playing with your friends so we're done here :)
-
So just to be clear, you won't suicide if you're fully geared so you can meet up with your friends?
-
So you can't answer the question?

Jex replied to Weyland Yutani (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
When did I say absolutely no modding? In fact didn't I say this earlier.... Let's hope it stays that way. They can make maps, I don't have an issue with that. They can make new clothing items too but most people here agree that weapons placed all over the map is not DayZ. In fact, most people would agree that those servers, that outnumbered vastly the vanilla mod were for retards. There's modding a game and then there's totally destroying a game. On one hand we have vanilla which is a zombie apocalypse which is the entire premise of the game, then you have overpoch which is just a pvp-fest so when it comes to modding the game into that, I couldn't give a shit what people want. Go make you're own zombie game if that's the case. -
And you're still playing with your friends even if your a KM apart. You're telling them where you are, what you're doing etc. Presumably then, when you want to tactically assault a place you don't split up because that wouldn't be "playing together" If you play hide and seek, that's not playing together because you're not together when you play it, right? What about a racing game where I'm a half lap ahead of you, oh no, we're not together! You're the one arguing semantics here.
-
So then you suicide when ur fully geared, do you? I'm thinking you don't.
