Should scopes in dayz have the ability to zero?
Jex replied to Karmaterror's topic in General Discussion
Add scopes that reflect their RL counterparts. Also, when you find a scope make everyone have to zero the scope to the rifle! That means shooting at 100, 200 300m etc ranges -
You mean like battlefield and cod?
-
Oh I'm sure I'll encounter the PVP players. They'll be the ones on the side of the road that starved to death ;)

you need to eat 3 vitamins, then 2 charcoal tabs, then antibiotics followed by a banana, kiwi and can of spaghetti. After that you need to aim 3 times, press D,D,U,L Triangle and you should be good.

In all games there has to be a limit on things or the game ceases to be what it was designed to do unless it's a game like minecraft. Without limits anything goes, flying unicorns shooting death rays from their horns. Epoch and Overwatch took everything that made DayZ the anti-game, what everyone flocked to play, and turned it into a base building/pvp game like rust. There's nothing wrong with those games, they are fun but they are not DAyZ. In the mods, Zombies were just a nuisance that got in the way of "having fun" and posed absolutely no threat. Barracks and cars were so abundant you might as well have just placed a mall at the start of the map so you could choose your car and weapons and then just headed out. As DayZ is a game about survival and is meant to be hard and grueling, these "mods" did nothing but fracture the community and turned it into COD.

Yes it is.

This game is awesome as it goes. Even against the AI - they're tough. TvT is really good too and it has that feel of Rogue Spear/Rainbow 6 but better. The community made maps are really good too and they just keep making them.

The best city for PVP is Noobervosrsk. I think it's next to Twatansky
-
Which is a good thing. We don't need the smear of epoch again, thanks.

Errr....sniping IS too easy in DayZ and Arma in general - always has been.

Ah well that's because we have to share servers with people with little imagination and intelligence. Shooting a person just sitting still is lame beyond compare - especially when they're fishing lol. I wonder if they thought they were boss after they shot you. Personally I would have snuck around and come up from behind and then spoke to you with my gun ready. If I died doing so it would have been a lot more fun of an experience than saying "oh yeah I shot this guy fishing earlier it was awesome" - actually, no it wasn't it was lame. My story would have been leagues apart in awesomeness sauce.

Personally I think we need more movement speeds like Splinter Cell. I should be able to Creep Walk slow Walk medium Walk fast/yomp (This would be sustainable with gear - ask the Royal Marines) Jog Run Sprint Each of these would have different effects over time depending on your load. The yomp is a great one because it allows a fairly good speed with a load. You could even jog with a load and run and sprint if needed but the stamina system should also play in to reflect it. Saying this, I don't want it to be "realistic" in the sense that it's not fun - it's still a game and we need to be able to a little more than our RL counterparts (We would be healthier for one thing) we just don't need ridiculous superhero's. Unfortunately most devs don't even think about things like movement, giving us different speeds, not allowing us to 360 in a split second, etc, etc. Oh and whilst I'm at it I'll just add off topic - Make a CANCEL ACTION for drinking. Fucking zombie hit me 4 times before I could do anything and there I am, like a dumbass, calmly sipping water "ooooh so nice *ooof* and cool *owww* and such *arrgghh* A lovely day"

You lot never found the door? It's on the NE side by some rocks and a tree, like the ones you go in when you have tornados so it opens upwards? Anyway, when you open it, on the other side is a big sign that says "You Were Trolled" LOL :P
-
I'm surprised nobody has found the door in the hill yet - why no forum posts about it?
-
And you didn't take any pictures???
-
It depends on how you play the game and how long you have to play and what you want to get done. I look at my sessions as episodes in the story of my avatar's current life. If it takes me an hour to walk somewhere it doesn't make much of a difference to me. The next day I'll pick the game back up and continue where I left off. Let's say you survive for 3 months straight - you've been everywhere and done everything but you're alive and surviving - does it matter if it take 15 minutes or 30 to get to your next destination?

Nothing reduces PvP KoS like...I don't know...EATING PEOPLE!?!
Jex replied to bfisher's topic in General Discussion
So if I kill a woman or fat man I can have breasts on the menu? seriously though, I don't know why they introduced this - with all the food you can hunt or grow, it's seems hardly worth the effort. Moobs and potatoes please! -
Extra Extra Credit: When it's raining ;)
-
For sprinting through woods there should be a chance of breaking/twisting an ankle or tripping over at least.
-
They should add tampons as well - great for starting fires (unused ones though, please)
-
LOL I find them all the time! Yesterday within 3 hours I ran by 3 or 4 of them at least.
-
Me and my mate used these last night and with 4 traps got 5 rabbits with 2 settings. Just remember, when you gut any animal, the quality of the knife is a huge factor. He had a pristine knife and got almost 100% off them, I had a damaged and got low 60%'s

Ghillie suits are used when you're stationary. Moving around in them should involve massive penalties. Another one could be the more you run around with it, the more it degrades. Laying still should have no issues.
