Think I found worst person to play Dayz

Maybe he was that cop in Albuquerque?
  2. Back in the Mod days my friend was in the top grocery shop in Berezino. Another player came in and they started talking. My mate had an axe and a revolver on him so he asked the guy if he's like he revolver and he'd keep the axe. The guy said yes, he would take the revolver. And shot him in the head. I was pmsl over teamspeak and then he used global chat and said "Why did you do that" and the guy replied "I DON'T KNOW!!!!"
  3. I'd prefer they have canned food at the beginning of release (which should last years perfectly ok, canned food does) but as time goes on, the canned food becomes less available so forcing people to hunt/grow/forage.
  4. I'm not disagreeing with you but I don't think hunting will get the development time needed to make it that difficult. The Hunter can only draw in animals within 200 meters because of engine limitations and the coding they use for the AI - couple that with 50 player servers with gear and zombies, I just don't think it will be capable though I'd much prefer it to be. I'm not saying you did say food would be an issue, I was saying I don't think the devs are going to make it that way, not too much anyway. I'm getting the feeling they're steering away from the "anti-game" and I'm sure growing things will take longer in time :)

Fire and smoke giving away your position?

I suspect that is the case though a fire at night is like a beacon - like someone took a part of the suns core and placed it in your fire.

Fire and smoke giving away your position?

Let's hope the new rendering engine changes things :)

    Are Bandits a bad thing?

    OK, don't then.
  9. Whilst I like the idea, this is never going to be in DayZ. I play the hunter for one and that's pretty complex hunting and we won't see that kind of coding in DayZ. Also, a hunt for days is off the table too because of the way food is used in game. A hunt lasting days would have to give you a boar that produced 500 meat steaks to be worth it. I think the rarity of animals will be the main issue with hunting but I'm not thinking food will ever be a huge problem in DayZ because you can grow, forage, hunt, fish and scavenge which is quite a lot.
  10. The devs are beginning to lose touch with the players. To even think a 12 hour death timer is remotely anything to do with "hardcore" is ridiculous. It's enough to lose our gear that we worked hard for, that's what makes fighting so intense. The thought of a 12 hour wait until my next game is a joke and I'd just go and find another server (or never join that server to begin with). Now broken legs you can run around on? WTF is going on with the "Anti Game" - sounds like more of a pussy game to me.

How do you set up your hotbar, and why?

Could we get numbers on the boxes?

    Are Bandits a bad thing?

This is wibble - show us a (credible) source or you don't have an argument. Or do you expect everyone here to believe you just because you said it's true?

    Try re-reading the argument.

    Bow crafting - natural resources

No I mean to kill a deer to make a bow from nothing but natural resources. The rope is the only thing can't get right now because animals run away (to the raucous laughter of my mate as I tried chasing a deer around a field with an axe) which means we need a craftable throw weapon to get the deer to make the rope to make the bow :)

    Are Bandits a bad thing?

It's called "an argument from authority" and no, it's not good enough. You either source your argument or you make non at all. Evidence and facts are what win arguments, not hearsay and conjecture - it's how you get to the truth :)

    Are Bandits a bad thing?

Because people band together and work things out because humans are pretty smart when left to their own devices in a country where the gov't isn't their enemy. With a ZA, a common enemy is the undead. People always band together - don't you want friends, a family - are you saying we'd forgo our greatest instinct - procreation. Not to mention books will be available that will have everything you need to know about what you can and can't eat. Different people will know things and will benefit and yes, some people won't know things and they'll be got by zombies or will starve to death. In your world you think this happens No, you would crave other human contact.

    Are Bandits a bad thing?

So you mean thousands of years ago we had governments? That's funny, I thought we developed those over centuries which if true, means we had chaos ruling yet we still managed to join together and build what we have today. Also, how many people do you know that want to go around murdering other people because I don't know anyone and I know a large number of people and that's not counting the people I've met. If a ZA happened, you would love to see another human being. There's absolutely no way on this planet that you wouldn't want to see other people.
  18. There's nothing wrong with what the OP does. KOS is a part of the game and isn't going anywhere - vets of DayZ understand this and accept this. Yeah it's annoying as hell but then Vets of DayZ rarely get caught with their pants down. I can't even remember ever being shot long range but then I play in a way that prevents those type of shots from occurring. If players change the way they play and deny these shots you'll force "snipers" to come closer which will make their play style obsolete. If they're so prevalent it's because of noobs presenting a nice big target for them.

    Bow crafting - natural resources

But it's the only option we have so until then, we'll have to keep using them. What I do want though is a craftable bow from resources that don't require a ranged weapon. Right now, you need to kill something you can't catch so it requires a man made object to make. We should be able to craft a spear we can throw - that would sort out the problem and if done right, we'd have to stalk and sneak to our prey so it doesn't run so we can get close enough to throw the spear.

    Are Bandits a bad thing?

If this were true the human race would never had survived. However, anthropology and history prove you wrong.

    Are Bandits a bad thing?

Nope. People won't kill each other over cans of beans or anything because we're a social species and we work together and no, why would anyone view another person as a threat to your survival? What nonsense is this? Anyone that joins your party in a real world apocalypse increases your chances of survival, not diminishes them and what limited resources - food is going to be in abundance.
  22. My friend and I made some Ghillie stuff. I had been collecting burlap sacks for ages, finally went down to find some netting and we had enough for the head piece and gun wrap each. Even just wearing these two items makes a huge difference in concealment when you have the gun in your hand. We regularly hide and try to find each other and it's hard, even worse at night. Of course, it only works front on. At the sides with a backpack on you stand out like you normally would.

    Bow crafting - natural resources

LOL I love the bow but it is tricky. Use the aim down sight method rather than the dot, aiming feels pretty natural. Next, craft 20 or so arrows and find a wall and practice shooting. You need to watch your right hand movement to fire straight but when you have it down you'll then be able to start adjusting your arc to hit targets. A range finder would help a lot too - mark out 10,20,...50m and note how high you have to aim. Pity the rabbit guts don't work - I wonder if you can combine them.

    Average Lone Wolf Wouldnt Survive

I gave up playing the mod a long time ago but would be interested to hear what you have to say about Epoch and why it's bad for lone wolves now :)
