Thank you. So the issue I have with things like this is that we paid money. £20-30 is nothing but it's not the point. Millions of people paid for the game. They took tens of millions in payment so make a game! LOL There's also a time limit. People and genres move on. BIS were way too slow on picking up on the MOD and tbh, it as probably too late then but had they been able to get a working product out a lot quicker, there would probably be a lot more players now. Maybe even room for a DayZ 2. With the snails pace, people aren't patient. Even so, 4 and a half years already going into at least 5 and a half to 7 or 8 years to develop is unnaceptable. Early Access games should be banned. Who wants to play a broken buggy game all the way through and then have it go release and play it over..... having it go release and play it feature complete and no bugs? However, take too long and imo, you lost your audience. I'd like a game to play and maybe I'll get that but unlike a single player game, DayZ needs servers and people - if there's nobody playing the game, there's no point playing the game. This is why they needed to act quicker. Who in 8 years time is going to be paying to host a DayZ server? Can you see how the game isn't going to be playable if nobody is playing it? (unless you like playing in empty servers I suppose lol)

Reality wouldn't agree with you though. How ever did you think you got rights? By people like you who sit on the fence? No, people with that mentality don't make progress, they sit in it, off the backs off real fighters of worked (and in some cases died) so other people could have better things. Obvs DayZ isn't anything close to being a movement lol but the point remains. I can wait like I've said earlier. Like I also said, quit taking so long. When is gold release, in 3 years? When do you expect the game to be ready?
-
Hey Orlok LONG time no see! - LOL did we wake you up? Deep at Orlok HQ, in his underground bunker, designed with the latest anti-troll technology, a grey alarm started flashing. Opening one eye, he reached for the feather duster, swishing away the dust, making the alarm red again.... and sighed..... :p

That's a really good, informative post. Could you do them more regularly please because you're really helping the conversation along! :)
-
There's alway supporters of anything, anywhere who can't think for themselves. You'll notice the quality of their posts are what you would expect as well. Which idiot is claiming their join date makes them better?? LOL? Anyway, who cares about that, I was here in the May of whenever the MOD launched and then played it soildly for over 2 years - big deal. Like that's some argument foir being right? Nope, it just makes me a sad geeky gamer who games too much lol As for the majority of the playerbase, they left years ago. As a result, BIS rmaped down the tiny team to a tineir team which is why it's taking so long I suspect. Why bother making a game nobody is playing?
-
Is there no IGNORE button on these forums? Anybody?? Helllooooo???? LOLOL
-
Well that's because maybe you have a weak mind? Go and read some books, get out and talk to real people, try some philosophy - quit being nasty on a forum so you can feel big about yourself.
-
YAY first decent post in this page I think. Thank you :) Other's hear should take heed and follow your example. I don't know if Rocket ran off with the cash LOL and no, the SA is never going to be like the MOD now, I said it pretty much from the start that BIS were way too slow to pick up on making the SA. I can wait, it's no skin off my nose as I have other games to play. What I won't be doing is adding to steam stats along with 90% of the customer base which in itself hurts the game. I just think the time they're taking is unnaceptable given the money they got from it.
-
Another post from a baby who thinks it's their game lol. Wow - a lot of you are rather nasty here aren't you? It's fine, you have no argument so you come here and name call. That's a loser argument right there. Could you take your meaness and maybe stop posting your BS?
-
That just goes to show piss poor planning and that's no excuse for taking so long. Someone alluded to the new engine being developed for Arma 4 - nice to see the money that went from DayZ is going into Arma 4 (not necessarily a bad thing as Arma's a great series) but it would be nice to see a game coming from it. So we're on course for Dec 2021 then?
-
So I'm noticing that the defenders of the faith can't help bashing the OP in their replies. Maybe YOU should take a step back as you all seem to be taking it personally. It's not YOUR game, you aren't making it stop sucking up. Then you have the audacity to tell people to "Act like adults" We are, it's people like you coming in and throwing the insults around - do you think you could stop doing that please?
-
I don't spend hours on these forums. If you bothered to read them you'd know that. Do any of you have an argument or are you all going to offer BS repsonse full of word salad. It's going to be 5 years this december and we're on v0.63? Falcon 4 took 5 years I think and that's a flight simulator.
-
Then like others here, you missed the point. DayZ mod was nothing to do with BIS - it gained massive popularity and people started buying arma 2 again. BIS increased the price of Arma 2 IIRC and made a butt load of money off it. They then released the SA, made a butt load of cash off that. 4 and a half years later I'm being told we're only just over half way in development and there's a big update at the end of the year, So that will be 5 years development with 3 more to go? Who the fuck takes 8 years to make a FPS.
-
What a stupid post - no wonder you have no issues with the game if you think like this. Yes, I expect that having taken mulit-millions from us they spend that money on making a game? You know, maybe hiring devs to work on things. It's been 4 and a half years
-
Why is it so hard for you not to get the snails pace of development?
-
Nobody is taking control of anything. Jeeeeez where the hell do you people come from? We're asking for BIS to start kicking their devs up the ass and develop! We've all been patient enough already.
-
Because I paid for a product and expect to see it delivered (or at least progressed) in good time just like the rest of us. You must love just being walked all over if you think we shouldn't have a voice for a product we've already paid for.
-
It goes into looney land with posts such as yours. We all know the game isn't finished - what evidence do you have in the slightest that says they're going to go in the direction in my quote above? I'm betting you have zero.
-
Well right now it's all PVP - anyone trying to say this is hardcore survival has to be the softest snowflake ever lol - there's literally nothing about survival here - to give an example, this would be like calling it survival if you camped out in your back yard for the night LOL. As for balancing it well there's at least 3 players groups. PVP'ers and PVE'ers then there's the guys in the middle like me that want a hard ass survival element and PVP but whereas you need your fix a little quicker, I like playing it more like the Walking Dead - so you have to do survival stuff but you get into PVP encounters as well. As for hardcore getting in the way - that's an issue for just the PVP crowd who want to ge ta gun and just fight but then, why do that in a zombie survival game? Why not Battle Royale? It seems odd that people would just want to PVP here and not want to play the game that's being made but there are those players and we just send them to the guillotine.... LOL jk. There might be a way to let everyone have their cake. For example, when we used to play we'd hike all over the place to explore. When we were going to higher PVP areas, we'd be a lot more careful (oh and 1st person only please. 3rd PP is for pussies..... *puts on helmet for incoming retalliatory fire*). We'd be set up for it and play differently. If you introduce a more intricate medical system for instance, well diseases can kill over days so you could suffer nothing at first then have to go sort it out. A broken leg should have you limping slowly. Sewing up a wound without alcohol to disinfect increases the risk of infection. The thing is, the game is about survival in a zombie apocalypse so you can never "just pvp" - at some point you need to take care of your things and yourself. Pure PVP isn't going to work here because this isn't the game being made. At some point PVP'er have to do other things and really, given the genre, they should embrace that side of it to, no need to be in a rush - the devs sure aren't :p Saying all that, the game needs more in it. The zeds are pathetic so that needs changing. They also need to quit with the zeds giving players away. This is really irritating that their spawn gives others away (or their bodies do as they despawn in 3 mins so give you away). There isn't much to do in the game passed PVP and that's because the game is so easy mode. I like exploring and hiking with my mate but all the vegetable growing and pig farming and fishing and all the other stuff is a waste of time Why bother making a sack when burlap sacks are rarer than backpacks? This is where the devs go into loony land afaic. They make al lthis stuff then put in stuff which makes half the stuff utterly pointless. Stone knife anyone? Canned food? Apples? When all you need in a survival game is literally a "stone knife", I'd say your having a laugh. So lack of other things in the game make PVP more appealing as it's fun. Gearing up is fun too. The MOD was always about losing your hard earned gear to other players but it was also meant to be about survival. They need more custom locations to visit, more things to suffer and prevent, more gameplay basically that's not pvp (god this is going into a right old ramble, sorry) but is rewarding and challenging. Outside of PVP - there's literally no challenge right now. if there was no PVP in this game it would be dead so think about that. If a game has only it's PVP to rely on it's game play whilst claiming to be a "hardcore Survival Simulator" then you know it's full of sh*t.

This is one of the more irritating things about the game. Why "search" for a stone on a beach full of stones? There's no point even having an RNG roll - just change it to "pick up stone" and then you're required to use rope and wood to make a handle or something. The stone knife is ridiculous and easy mode. It does everything. The firedill kit - what!? LOL A piece of kit nobody knows how to make and yet you make on in a second and light a fire in under 3. Whoooaaa everyone, watch out! DayZ is a real hardcore game here. No, Making the drill kit attack you when you try to use it and gouge your eyeballs out. How about this - I've suggested this before. Everything in this game tool wise takes time. The worst item (stone knife) take a minute to open a can. The can opener - best item - takes 5 seconds to open. If you're going to have different tools in the game that all do the same thing, you need to balance those out with reality so it makes it worthwhile having it. I haven't played for over a year, got in the other day, oh look, the stone knife still is the best - better than a steal kitchen knife that I need 2 slots for. So why make a 2 slot knife if a 1 slot knife does the job. By making things better and worse means they have more value to the player. More value and a rarer find means more adrenaline when someone tries to take that from you. Were there no lessons learned from the MOD here?
-
That's an interesting idea - have you had your money's worth from a game that hasn't even been released yet? Having to play with the bugs and everything else as well as massively feature incomplete - you haven't actually played the game because the game isn't out yet. I suppose you could live in your house as it's built, with no roof and you get rained on, your clothes all get soggy and your TV fries lol
-
Why it is harder and harder to have interactions ?
Jex replied to Mantasisg's topic in General Discussion
How Ironic that the SA of the really popular MOD needs a MOD to save it's ass LOL -
once again you can't stop misrepresenting me but yes, you have a nice day also :)
-
Exactly. So we prove DayZ is nothing but a softcore survival game with PVP in it and cars so far. Hopefully that'll change as the game goes on but infinite apples and berries need to go. Apples don't exists passed autumn and aint around again till summer.
-
And.... - Less water pumps - More diseases - a more complicated medical system - Weapon handling that's realistic - actual ballistics and not just bullet drop
