Server Hoppers Plus A Video On Peaches.

Or you lack the critical faculties to get the point ;) The I win button in DayZ would be instantly gearing up and having food whenever u hit it. There are plenty of people who would take that option too (actually they paid for it in the mods) but they aren't playing the game.

    Any plans for 3PP immersion?

No, it's exactly like the devs didn't fucking check their work. The arma series are great but fuck me if they don't have some lazy ass design in their games that's fucking irritating to the nth. They still use that shitty ass scroll menu for instance! How about a dial menu instead like in RO or Insurgency?

    Any plans for 3PP immersion?

It is a problem and it's obvious too - like sitting in vehicles where your sat too high and can only look down through them - just sit in the VS3 and turn your head to the window closest you - you eyes are level with the top and it was like that, infuriatingly in Arma 2. Why are the windows so frikken high, or so frikken low??? LOL it's like the devs said, yep, that's just how we want them so you can see out of them. They have a stance system in A3 they need to stick in DayZ. When Zombies get introduced we're going to need to just peek over things - right now you crouch and then to look over, you stand right up straight like a dork.
  4. So I have to wait a minute before I can switch servers now. Even if I've been in a server for 30 minutes, if I want to change a server I have to wait a minute. This minute is useful for what exactly? Why did they remove the 5 minute timer? A minute does absolutely nothing for anyone so it might as well be removed as it serves absolutely no function right now. With reports of servers going down for ages, this just amplifies the need to change servers and often. Once the servers are stable again, reintroduce the "Anti-Server hopper timer".

That's a whole different question. You play games for fun. Taking your example to the extreme, you would then just want a button called "I win" - I mean why bother playing the game when you can skip right to the end?

Server Hoppers Plus A Video On Peaches.

No it doesn't, you need to connect to another server to be able to ghost. If you don't connect, you'll just reappear where you logged out and be vulnerable.

When are the devs going to fix the timer? It's easy devs, here, let me help you out with how you should make it...... I'm on Server A...I disconnect and then I reconnect to the same server - I don't wait any time at all to get back in. If I change server to Server B, I get in right away. If I fail to connect to Server B, then I can try Server C with no time limit and so on until I find a server I can connect to. Now I want to connect to Server F, I have to wait 5 minutes Server G - 10 minutes Back to Server A - you have to wait 30 minutes
  8. It's a shame that BIS believe their playerbase, on the whole, are impatient .

    Any plans for 3PP immersion?

I don't know. I'm of the opinion that when you can use something in a game to an unfair advantage then it should be taken out the game. If you use a wall hack, you are considered a cheater and banned from the game except when you can wall hack using a 3pp camera, right? It seems to me that both allow you to see through walls except somehow, we find one acceptable and the other deplorable. Yes everyone can use 3pp so there is a difference but that doesn't help the guy being viewed by the guy on the roof. In this situation, the guy on the roof is no different than a guy on a roof using a wallhack - do we allow hackers off if they only use their hacks on a roof? Where do they draw the line - well, if everyone here thinks the only reason they play DayZ is solely for the 3pp camera, then I think they're lying. If the devs think that's all their game as got going for it, they're idiots and that is demonstrable. DayZ is the game we play and it's a good, solid game that's worth playing and there might be a few people who quit over its removal but they'll literally being cutting off their nose to spite their face. It will be their loss they decided to quit playing a game they enjoy and a month after it's removal, nobody will be talking about it but I bet the experiences will be better for it :)

So set your FOV slider all the way to the right and you're almost there. I think Arma (DayZ) gives 120 degrees which isn't far off RL and more than you'll get in any other FPS out there which you're not complaining about. You do know that 3pp does not increase your field of view right?
  11. Did it really require 500 walks back and forth to prove point 1? I also have no issue with inertia and it's looks fine to me. Try sprinting in rl and see how long it takes you too stop, oh wait, let me show you....

    Net Neutrality

Guys come on give a better explanation, please! This is important! The issue is that greedy corporations want to control the net and give people who pay more a better service and other people a shittier one. This is bad because everyone should get an equal service. So as I understand it, you'd be on a slower ring that rich people who would be on a faster one and it would just end up with everyone being charged more just so these assholes, who barely give us a decent service to begin with yet rake in the cash we pay them, can make even more money and take control of the internet. Net Neutrality basically keeps the net the way it is right now where we all basically get the same and it's fair and doesn't hand over the net to a bunch of greedy pricks who don't want to make the internet better, they just want to make their bank accounts swell from the bloated sack of shit they reside in. Greed - keeping back progress almost as badly as religion and delivery the shittest service they can get away with whilst keeping their shareholders happy. That was a totally unbiased view too, btw! ;)

    Any plans for 3PP immersion?

All this time I've been arguing it's me on the road, not behind the rock and not on top of a building because I don't wait to ambush players so no, you and your bean givers still don't get the point at all. So right there your argument is already shot to pieces. Now onto your point about ambushing - do you think it's easier to ambush in 3rd person or in first person - which one gives you the greater view of the area? Oh it's 3pp, giving you are far greater advantage than you would have if you were in 1pp. The risk is also far greater for you. Your analogy makes no sense because when you found your gun, you're in berezino and I'm in Kamenka - it has nothing to do with the argument because you can't choose when and where to find a gun. We're also talking about lives here and I see the real issue - you have no concept of keeping your character alive whereas I do. I play to survive, I don't want to die. You on the other hand go through lives without a care. When you have 3pp, it negatively impacts the course of play of survivors because we take each life on an individual basis. When you use 3pp cam to an advantage, we're not playing the game and stocking up points of who got one over on the other. If you're on a roof, you have a huge advantage with 3pp - it doesn't matter if I can also get on the roof because at the point where it matters, right at that time, the guy on the ground is the one who has the disadvantages. It's not any consolation telling him, "It's ok, next life you can go on the roof and get someone else back" - sorry, I'm dead, the new me just woke up on the beach and has no recollection of what happened to the old me. Some of us refuse to advocate using 3pp as an exploit to gain an unfair advantage over other players and so easily too. At least in 1pp, I know I have a chance of seeing someone else and at least the view I'm using is realistic and more immersive :)
  15. I just put together a PC that runs DayZ on high graphics for £560 excluding the monitor I had to buy extra. I would call that cheap hardware - PM me if you want to know more - it's also really easy to put it together too :)

    Any plans for 3PP immersion?

Well they may say they prefer the view but if you're "Roleplaying" then you talking specifics. "Roleplaying" is getting into character and playing a "role" just like any tabletop or other RPG game. You can get more "in Character" and into your "role" when you are putting yourself in your characters shoes. Are you or are you not a person stuck in a zombie apocalypse - yes you are. Do people have magic floating cameras over their heads - no they don't. Edit: Also, as a RP'er, I'm surprised you want to play in 3pp when 1pp is far more immersive. I've almost jumped out my chair twice, recently when a zombie leapt out at me from nowhere and I was in 1pp, restricted view because of my backpack, felt the hairs on the back of my neck rise. I never get this feeling in 3pp because it's easy. Perhaps you and your friends are movie makers - then you have an argument ;) And your English is better than a lot of posters here and you're easy to understand so I don't think you need to worry about getting your point across :)

    Any plans for 3PP immersion?

No it's you guys failing to grasp the simple concept that if I'm behind a rock, camping and you walk passed, you are at a disadvantage. It doesn't matter that we can both hide behind the rock when I'm the one on the road and you're the one behind the rock, does it???? How the fuck can you not get this simple point? Nobody is walking willy-nilly through town and even if you're taking your time and hiding, it doesn't help because guess what, when you're on a high point you can pretty much see over everything. Can't do that in 1pp mode though can you because you'll skyline yourself and will be visible but carry on thinking you both have the same advantages. Your analogy actually is that we're both starting a race except I shout go when I'm 100 yards ahead of you. You could have shouted go at anytime too but I did it first so that makes the race fair - oh please, don't be so ridiculous.

    Any plans for 3PP immersion?

Surely if you're roleplaying you want 1PP? You're playing a role and that role doesn't mean you can see things you can't. It's been dubbed the "anti-game" because it is so brutal - how is 3pp brutal - it's easy mode beyond compare to anything else. Just make the detection area larger to a couple of inches diameter so you don't need to be so pinpoint. When multiple objects are in the view area, use the scroll wheel to select the item you want to pick up. Right now just breathing can make picking up one object under another an exercise in maddening frustration lol
  19. Jex

    Any plans for 3PP immersion?

No, because in order for the guy on the roof to see me on the street below is to skyline himself. How is this not a blatantly obvious difference? You want to see me, you stand up and risk a sniper round in your head for trying to snipe me. It also means that when I go out of sight, you can't run up to a fence and cam over it - you now have a LOT more of a risky venture looking for me because now I might run into you. Sat behind a fence and waiting for me to run passed so you can shoot me in the back is not the same by any stretch of the imagination and it's time we started to admit that this argument is just not sustainable. Just because we both have the same ability to view does not give us the same advantages which is easily demonstrable.

instaghillie, SKS and "in hands" items

I haven't quite worked it out since the new patch, I think it changed slightly. In the old patch, if you hit the X it wouldn't drop it even though it looked like it did and would stay with you. If you then took out your axe say, it would then drop it at your feet. In the latest patch, I'm not sure it always does that now and may drop it back where you picked it up. Just never eat or drink when you have something in your hands lol.

I like carrying my bow too much so I just use the wrap and hood. Even that offers amazing concealment, especially at night. Crouch with your gun out so it crosses your body and the hat on and you're 50 - 100M away then you're hard to spot.

    Any plans for 3PP immersion?

That still doesn't answer the question does it nor make it any better. When you're shooting me in my ass I'll remember how fair it is we both have the same advantage. Of course you don't, it's a stupid argument that only makes sense in one very defined setting and that's where you and the other guy are on a symmetrical map and both know the other is there - that's it. There is no way that just because you can both go on a roof if equals out. All 3pp does is give the guy who's camping the advantage meaning in reality, the guys that are just looking to scavenge and survive get the crap end of the stick because they have no chance of seeing the other guy who's just out to PVP.

instaghillie, SKS and "in hands" items

Pro Tip: Whenever you're carrying something in your hands, always drop it on the floor, not a house floor but the ground outside and to drop it don't click the X, change weapons using your hot key. The weapon you carry should then drop on the floor at your feet and now you can go and eat things and shouldn't lose the weapon (and try to never drop things on anything but ground as the floor sometimes eats it.) ;)

No they don't. How on earth can you say the in 3pp everyone has the same advantages - try arguing that when you're on a roof and I'm on the street below.
