If you can land on an object like a car, you can fall any height and live - at least this was true in the mod. Of course, finding a suitable object is the tricky part ;)

My friends and I put up our own "7 Days to Die" server last weekend and were happily playing it and learning the game and how to craft. We found a farm with several huge fields of corn and decided to make it home. We didn't really bother asking why the game is called "7 Days to Die"....... Until the first horde hit us and well, fuck me. For slow shambling zeds we got our asses handed to us (but we only had crossbows and axes). They broke into the house, something like 50 zeds and we were trapped fighting our way out it was intense. With guns it would have been easy - it certainly makes a case for melee only it reminded me of walking dead scenes. I hope the zeds in DayZ can have a similar effect - people need to fear zombie hordes and not be able to just run through town with them chasing like a scene from benny hill.

Can we also have an auto-aim feature so I can play with my xbox controller?

Someone posted a few months back how he walked around and literally had players run right passed him and not notice him, lol.

With the continuing state of change there's always going to be new answers and it's be a great thread to read through as it builds to glean good information. I reckon we should add tips in too, but you only get to do that if you answer a question :) First question, What can you cook in a cooking pot and do you need water in it? :)

Tried experimental last night with the new zombie AI - hmmmmm...... Item spawns were borked, spawning the same thing over and over from about 5 different items. So I had hundreds of water bottles, sewing kits and .357 rounds but no food anywhere. Zeds are a little tougher when fighting you but didn't seem to notice me when i was 20m from them, then they did after ages, or didn't and you can still hit walk and strafe around them but at least now they hit back - overall, if this is a serious update not impressed.

Well it's true that the map isn't particularly required when you know Chernarus well enough but I like making precision journeys using the compass (some map tools would be nice too :)). The map parts annoy me no end - nobody sells map areas that small in RL lol

As maps go I still think Chernarus is better hands down though Altis is an amazing map also - I think I like the rolling hills and fields and forests - this is probably to do with what we're all used to seeing though saying that..... Why don't they add Altis and then a desert map and a swamp map and a snow map and a..... New maps never get old!

I just started using this too - far superior map with contours I turn all that other crap off. I know where all the loot spawns are pretty much now and if I don't, I'll be surprised when I find them which will just be a bonus. Having a decent map like this though is a lot better.

Nope I think I had pretty much just spawned in and there was a structure at the top of the hill I was aiming for - oh and it was almost night time so the eyes "glowed" lol

Might be different if you can only run as fast as a zed when you sprint and you can only sprint for a limited time only. That might force you to barricade in a house to catch your breath or you have them clawing your back as you try to run away - that's the kind of thing I want to see with fresh spawns - hordes ripping them to pieces and running off with their guts hanging from their mouths. This is the anti game (supposedly) so let's start getting seriously nasty with the zed mechanics and make city's a thing to be feared, not ran through easily.

Yes you can put them over each shoulder in rl, now try walking an appreciable distance with them over rugged terrain.

Over your shoulder - try mountain climbing and cross country hiking with something 'over your shoulder' and see how far you get before it totally pisses you off.

When the dipshit map maker adds in the town names in Cryllic for the in-game map and doesn't make me collect stupid map parts, then I'll use that. Until that time....

Namalsk was the first time I had the hairs on my neck stand up lol. It's a great map but I think it needs a lot more work to make it an amazing map and up to standards for release. The first time I met a blood sucker I was climbing one of the high mountains and heard something in the trees which made me stop to look around. The server must have had names on or something because when I looked over, my screen must have caught the marker name for the thing which was something like "Man" except it had a distance marker.... and it was getting closer and closer. When I saw the footsteps in the snow with nothing there to see, I turned and ran screaming. Trying to run fast up those hills when you want to run fast, is tricky. I glanced over my shoulder and this was the first time I saw a pair of disembodied eyes closing in on me making me scream more as I desperately tried to run away. I did manage to lose it, I think the hills helped me but what an experience! Loved every minute of it :)

Both keyboard layouts are dumb and keyboards need to be redesigned. The reason they are like that in the first place was to slow typists down because when they used type-writers, if the typed too fast the arms would all jam together. The Qwerty layout was developed mathematically to make the slowest keyboard possible. Now we don't use typewriters, we've no need for the stupid layout anymore. Incidentally, since I know you're all enjoying this little story so much - the world championship type writing competition.... Yes you did hear that right lol Well anyway, there was some controversy a few years back when a typist who had 6 fingers on both her hands won so the runner up complained that she only had 5 fingers and her nemesis 6 giving her an unfair advantage! She was over-ruled though and the 6 fingered lady won! Yipee - and you were all about to cry because you thought the normal person won in the end. I think type-writer weekly had a record number or readership sales that week when it rocketed up from 3 to 8 plus a sheep (I believe it was held in Wales) ;) edited for piss poor grammar.
