  1. Actually open criticism for a game is a good thing. Devs can decide what they want to read and respond to and what to take on board but never stop criticising! I thought we started with closed Beta's and Alpha's and now we're at the stage where we pay money to work for game devs. People didn't complain on forums first because nobody had access to the games???
  2. You use 25% or less FOV no wonder you have motion sickness! OMG....... Try putting the slider all the way to the right. Also, your frame rate will affect motion sickness too so if it's low that's another factor.
  3. And that impacts the decision to make us run at ridiculous speeds how? I've been led to believe it was because of the lack of vehicles but if that's not the case and there's a design reason for it, great! :) You may have made it clear but I think it's very naive to put that out there "You're not accessing a game but a dev build" - oh, ok, so how many people know that? Hardly any I bet know it and even less understand what that means but the perception that it's a game is still there and I think the perception is an important thing to maintain throughout the development process as it tells everyone what direction the game is going in :)
  4. Turn off head bob and motion blur and you have the exact same game as any other FPS in that you move a rectangle around a virtual world and pressing keys make you move.
  5. Good for Cholera (not sure how many times you could ever say that lol) Movements speeds? Don't care - should have kept them realistic as we never had an issue in the mod.
  6. About the clothing - they need to make the clothes do what they say in the description. There's that small, quilted jacket that in the description goes on about it being great for hikers and all weather except you get soaked in the rain.
  7. Have you tried setting your FOV higher? Motion sickness occurs for people when it's set too low - Total Biscuit suffers from this except when he can change the FOV and in dayz, it goes a lot higher than most games do. If you're going to play zoomed in then yes, you will suffer Motion Sickness - try it out and see if it helps :)
  8. For an "anti-game", this game is anything but. OP is correct about the running speeds - since most people ran everywhere in the mod, why are they increasing the speed in the SA? Hello, do you not know your own fucking game by now? Promoting a game as a serious apocalypse and then putting shit in like this. I've long since maintained that if you don't market your game correctly, you'll please no one and just piss people off. Either we're playing a survival apocalypse or we're watching an episode of the carebears. How many more years do we need to test out one mechanic of the game such as food respawns? As for Melee weapons I think that's better than a shit load of guns all over the place but there are loads of things still missing that really should be in the game by now such as water - when are we going to have to boil it or use the tablets, exactly?.

    Swords, Maces, rarity vs function

Remembering both these weapons were developed in an era where just about everyone wore some kind of armour protection. Meaning, if you aren't wearing armour, one hit with one of these weapons is going to seriously injure you, it not kill you outright. That mace above - want me to smash your head with it as hard as I can and see what happens? Now imagine wearing a helmet and getting hit - you can already feel the difference just via imagination so we all know what damage these things can do so why can't they model that in game. Broken arms and legs for those areas hit. Head shot instant death with either, chest shot severe bleeding with the sword, broken ribs and blunt trauma with the mace. Both of these could be countered by wearing armour on those body parts.

    Why snipers aren't going away

And what is the point of sniping again in a zombie survival game where skills used to keep people alive are far more important. Sniper comes into a camp, "Hi I'm a GOOD sniper" Survivors, "Great so what else can you do?" "I can snipe," "Yeah we don't really need you but you can grab that bucket and go fetch some water if you want to help out?"

Lighting Fires in Fireplaces inside homes.

This - it's stormy, you're cold, find a cottage all on it's on on a hill and build a fire, dry your clothes and cook some food :)

Lighting Fires in Fireplaces inside homes.

Oh it's your thread lol - I thought you were being one of those obnoxious forum Nazi's that have to point out repeat threads even though it's been happening for the last 20 years, is never going to stop mainly because forum search engines are designed not to find the topic you want to post ;) Apologies :)

Lighting Fires in Fireplaces inside homes.

It's such a good suggestion it needs to be told twice at least but thank you for pointing out a thread that hasn't been replied to since Nov last year it's really helpful.

Lighting Fires in Fireplaces inside homes.

I tried this once thinking the devs would have put it in so was disappointed but yes, make the fireplaces useable and not only that but the stoves as well if they are wood burning ones. Can we also have animations for sitting in chairs and then finally, I want slippers and a pipe and I think I'm set :)
  16. Presumably the whole point of writing novels is just to sell them, right? The whole point of making movies is just to sell them. Why aren't authors and movie makers putting endings in their books where flying unicorns appear in another version? The child in the room is you. You want everything your way and rocket didn't make DayZ to "sell more games" - it was free if you hadn't noticed?
  17. We should give the players what they want and just have electro and the prison island to run around in just so we can play COD.
  18. Ok answer me this then - why should they? I make and code a game, why should I add additional code so people can play the game they want to play? Code your own fucking game.
  19. Yes, go and play another game. DayZ is a different game than other shooters and it's trying to recreate as much realism as possible afaik. The reason we don't want different versions of the game is because we end up back with how it was in the mod and epoch and being about as far removed from a zombie apocalypse as you could get. BTW that weapon drag drove me nuts when they first put it in because I didn't think it represented weapon movement at all. Now I understand why they put it in, I still don't like it but at least it makes more sense and isn't really that bad - it does need tweaking though.
  20. Certainly spoiled in DayZ. In 7Days to Die just having a slow firing crossbow is a massive leap in technology :)

When will the Sway be fixed?

You never rest your "elbow" on anything, you rest your forearm ;)

When will the Sway be fixed?

Right, so you want it to be nothing like real life then. Also, nothing shoots a foot to the left at the ranges you're probably shooting at and if you're shooting further, don't use shitty Russian ww2 era guns to do it.
