Pretty much how everyone that wants to survive, plays the game. I do pretty much exactly what you do however I enjoy it. Making that break from hopelessness to cheerfulness is a fun process and challenging enough. It also sets a survival instinct in your head too. You spend time working your character up, the more effort you make, the more intense it is when you get into a fight, knowing you might have to start over again.

OMG lol An inch from death? Have you not heard of apple trees and berry bushes? Do you even know how to make a stone knife? If that is hardcore mode then I don't know what to say.

NO. This argument would only work in a game that when you turned it off, you were reset back to the start. In a persistent game, you can play for an hour and stop, come back and pick up where you left off. So if we plan to head from devils castle to the ship wreck for example, we'd start our journey looting and hunting / whatever as we made our way there. We get half way there before our wives tempt us with their sexy lingerie and we tell them we just need 10 more minutes.... (btw we're on teamspeak - our wives didn't walk into the same room we're in, playing with each other. I mean playing dayz together. ;)) So the next day we, log in, did we not make progress the day before? What in a survival game needs to be done with such speed? You're trying to survive - that's the point of the game so what's the rush? If all you're interested is in finding a gun quick and pvp then....
-
I like the sound of this - sounds like persistence is working well enough to make it usable - good job :)
-
Oooooh changes were made that made a lot of people quit - I'm guessing the game is more like a survival game now then? Can anyone give me a quick list of major things added (not gear, mechanics) over the last 3 months please?
-
I loved the bikes in the mod - like when you went downhill so fast your steering went to shit. What I didn't like was that nobody could hear it when I pinged the little bell to get the fuck out the way.
-
Then you need to start playing the game differently and treat each hour gaming as an "episode" in your life. If on the other hand you just want to get a gun and go shoot people, you're going to need a new game ;)

LOL oh dear!

LMAO love it - a noob schooling the "experts". Just out of interest, do the water pumps need purification tablets now? The way you describe your play style sounds no different at all then for me as that's what I do. Even on the coast where "there's no loot anywhere!" I'll find the stuff the noobs didn't and I've never once come out of a place without something useful. Given the abundance of berries / apples and water pumps, there's no excuse for starving to death.

LOL it's not like people have to play the game. Fuck these addicts! They cause no end of issues.
-
Hey 7 days to die could be it. You can configure it to be really hard or really easy. I'm going to have to get into DayZ tonight and see just how "hard" the game is now.
-
Just keep eating and drinking when your sick and you'll get through it - don't puke, that doesn't help at all according to a post a month or 2 ago on here.

Have you tried fighting them in door ways or narrow passages - running away cannot be an option in this game or it'll just turn into Benny Hill. I haven't played the new patch so I dunno what the zeds are like but usually, with new mechanics comes new ways to deal with them. 21 hits? Here we have the pointless weapon that never should have been developed. Wasted your coding time devs! When weapons become this useless nobody will pick them up and there is simply no way you're going to survive a few hard smacks on your head with a crowbar. Of course, it could be latency and you're lagging and not hitting their heads - at least the server doesn't think so. -

Well unfortunately games have rules so at some point, if someone is doing something wrong that makes them lose the game, they'll need to be told how to play it ;) -

Yes that's right! Until you can make the required items and gain the skill you will be eking out an existence - as one would except in a survival game, right? -

Have you tried the berry bushes? I haven't played for about 2 - 3 months as 7Days is taking up my time but in 5 minutes I could have 12 berries and in another 5 at an apple tree maybe 4 - 6 apples. Easily enough to keep yourself alive until you have rope (I mean, you did make the stone knife and cut the ash stick right and find the feathers and sticks and made the arrows so you could hunt the deer right away once you found the rope?). Sounds to me as though some people need to start treating this game for a survival game rather than a "gather weapons as quick as possible and go PVP". When you make your objective the same as the games, surviving, it's amazing how easy it is to do once you know what trees and bushes to look for. -
PC wont shut down after playing Dayz Standalone

Depends, on Windows 8 pressing the power button is fine (holding down no on a HDD system), any windows system with a SSD and no HDD should be fine as well. -

It's "saying" But I'm sure glad I read you're post because without it, their would be no chance in me ever finding out were these guys came from that ruin games because they get there grammEr a little bit wrong ;)
