I need to be able to do that to hold my peepee -
Beans for the "OOH Ooh!" LOL

DAyZ without PVP is not DayZ. The ENTIRE point of the game is that you could lose everything to another player - all your hard earned loot gone at any time if you don't prevail. That's where all the fear came from which is what made DAyZ what it was. I voted for the bring it on but that doesn't really tell the right story. PVP should always be there but imo, something you don't go looking for. In an apocalypse, you would defend yourself, not deliberately go looking for a fight.

TIL that DayZ runs much smoother on Windows 10.

Isn't there a limited window for Win10 before you'll have to buy it? -
LOL there's nothing wrong with the character, it's the buildings and vehicles that need fixing! They also need to fix the issue with the leveling of the horizon which induces nausea - this is where you run and look forward and see a level horizon then look left and the horizon is tilted 45 degrees. Look around enough and you'll be feeling sick soon. I can't play the game as it is right now.

Rollin', rollin', rollin' Rollin', rollin', rollin' RAWHIDE! :P

I am a zombie I like abercrombie and fitch I get the itch to eat your brains and shit them down the drains of my dungarees and don't forget the bees please.

In pretty much the first talk he gave I think he talked about 3rd person and how it needed to be changed. This is 2 year old news to most of us ;)
-
No, it's BS because they've been debunked a hundred times already.
-
Hi all, I noticed this the other day as I was starting to get a little of this myself (playing 1st person). I never get motion sickness so I was wandering what it was that could be causing it. I noticed that when you're running, your AV leans forward and what this does is change the way you see the world. Looking straight ahead is fine, you see the horizon like this ---- a nice flat line but look left or right and it changes to this / (actually more like a 45 degree angle). The switch from a straight line to an angled line completely screws with your brain and is probably a large cause for sickness and if not, is just frikkin annoying as hell. our brains work shit out when we see and doesn't make our vision see things at a tilt so this nausea inducing and unrealistic feature (as was as inauthentic) needs to be addressed.
-
I see all the BS arguements "for" 3rd person are all over this thread even though they've been debunked each and every time. Seems 3pp'ers don't want to listen or educate themselves - now who here has a problem exactly?
-
No, see the video above :)

Exactly that issue and the transition is nauseating and needs fixing as a priority. I'll guarantee you once that is gone people aren't going to be feeling as bad.

How many "Fresh" players are there compared to the rest of us who have been playing for ages? Vets know the map and can be anywhere in 20 minutes near enough and really fresh players wouldn't have a clue where they are and would run right passed a military base. I've never really got the point why it's an issue for me to get a gun 20 minutes sooner than by making me run over that way.

ROFL - Is it only in DayZ that people find the quickest route to suicide? Make for the construction site! No wait, the beach is 10 seconds closer!
-
If gearing up as quick as possible is what people want to do they're missing the point of the game. I prefer the idea of swimming out to the islands, it makes it a journey and something you should have to plan for. When you reach the other side, you should be freezing (unless you had the right gear on). There's plenty of map to spawn places too.

Everyone plays the game the way they want, so...
Jex replied to NomadZ's topic in General Discussion
30 seconds is way too short a time unless you see them quit right in front of you. In a fight, if we're both shooting each other, and one of us ducks behind something and quits, how long are you going to wait before you advance? This is where the timer becomes useless because I might be repositioning, waiting to pop back out again. -
Having paid attention to what's going on around here, that's what's been said by Rocket and the dev team afaik. So if I'm talking out of my "bung hole" it also means the Devs have also been talking out of their anal cavity. As for if you play DayZ or not, nobody here cares. Another thing you might want to look at before you embarrass yourself further is the suggestions thread which was put there for a reason - care to take a guess at what the reason was?

logging off isn't a bug - who the fuck is saying it's a bug? Neither is it an exploit anymore than pressing your mouse button to fire a gun is an exploit in killing someone - who the fuck is saying logging off is an exploit? Combat logging on the other hand is still neither of these but it is something only a maggot or troll would do and the rest of us will have to put up with those people that do it. Play on a private hive and you can report them and eventually have them banned. Public servers - well..... -
Except the game is a survival game where there are limited resources. This has always been the goal of DayZ, to make things hard for the player as the "anti-game" getting tooled up in 20 minutes smacks of easy mode. There is no room for players who can't find a gun in 20 minutes - if you can't survive without a gun for that long, then go back and find out what DayZ is meant to be about. There is a reason all this disease and health stuff is being added - to make things harder. Food will be harder to come by, forcing you to move around. Instead of worrying about running across a KOS player in 2 hours, why not enjoy the challenge of outwitting them? There is never a point in DayZ where you can sit safely which means planning your actions in advance which is part of the game and something I enjoy doing (and why I rarely get killed). Having ammo and food available as a "choice" of how to play the game is ridiculous though. I can choose not to pick up that gun and survive..... Othjer games do not provide this kind of choice. With this line of reasoning, you can choose to use a two handed sword in WoW but don't complain when I shop up in an apache gunship and nuke you from 5 miles out. Well you "chose" the Sword! I also have to ask what's the big deal about the guns. Are people still not clear about the direction DayZ is going - zombie apocalypse survival - not run around blasting each other. It's also strange that with so many other shooter games out there that people want to make DayZ into one of them. Whoopy yeah, let's have another FPS like all the rest.
-
This would also force people to move around and increase interaction. Fights over food or land might then start. If you know an area is ripe with resources, are you going to defend it - try and grab everything to stock up? It's a pity food storage isn't implemented so if you do it wrong, you ruin it but that's probably going a little too far. When I go and hunt for food, I don't want to walk for a minute and find an animal - I want to have to hunt them, like in The Hunter, if you ever played that and preferably with the bow.

Being a true Brit, I own a sword at home which is a fairly small one tbh. If I hit your arm with it, and the blade is not sharp at all, it would most likely break your arm, or ribs, or leg, neck or head. Make that into a broad sword with a sharpened blade and one good hit is going to leave you absolutely fucked. And of course it would! Designed over thousands of years to kill people, of course it should be exceptional at its job. We've all seen samurai swords cutting clothe in half. A normal sword weighs between 2.5 - 3.5 pounds - it's not particularly heavy but all the force is in the point or the edge, compounding the damage.
-
I'm hoping after release they play with the animal numbers so we get times where there's fewer, making it harder to live or making an area devoid because of over hunting, say. This would force us to live a more vegetarian diet but we'd be suffering for it so we'd move slower and have less health for example. Changes in the environment should have a big impact on our survival chances.
-
This is the issue right here. I don't know how they would code that in though - maybe a "jump down" key? You have to press it when you want to jump off something otherwise you take your chances.
