Infected humans is what they are, nothing more please... no necromorph limbs or exploding bloaty green goo, slime for me thanks. I'd prefer an enhancement of current zed features for example.. infested rotting flesh maggotry, missing/part limb defunctions and maybe even infected dogs with skinny, sometimes broken ribs with a side order of random blood splatters.

Might help us to help you to know what the massive blob of text says, what means of mod installation etc.... maybe try re-installing the origins mod? and ensuring all dayz files and beta version are up to date.

Yeah good idea! After the extremity is sewn back on... Be it a leg/foot/kneecap you can just go right back to running around and vaulting like an Olympic hurdler. Be it an arm/hand... you can still carry your backpack, use your gun/hatchet and competently operate general arm functions. Be it a head, yeah, you get the picture...

A few reasons could be that your PC/GPU is overheating and is causing it to crash or become unresponsive but what i think the problem is from the symptoms you provided is that your PC is going into hibernation after a certain amount of time. Next time it it seems to be frozen or blackscreen... try to press Enter button, wiggle the mouse and wait a few minutes to see if windows comes back on. it may be that you just need to turn off hibernation. Go to... Control Panel > Power Options > Click on the 'Change when computer sleeps' (on side tab) > change settings to 'never' on the dropdown boxes.

People generally bash Alienware cuz its a brand associated with a large expense, afterall they are very expensive but man sometimes its so petty... it's like people saying dont buy official Nike trainers cuz the fake knockoffs 'without a tick' from ebay will do just as good a job and perform as good. Would you buy the Nike or the knockoffs? you would buy the Nike right? Don't knock a brand because they are expensive, being expensive generally means they are quality. We know one can can build a gaming PC with same (or even better) spec parts for a fraction of the cost.. jeez. The guy wants a laptop not a monster PC, if he wants to buy an Alienware laptop with his money, why tell him not to? It's actually quite sad to see people bashing them all the time. ​They perhaps be haters, cuz they perhaps be jealous. Whatever the reasons are you go get what you want to get pal, its your money.. the Alienware you linked to will be plenty good enough to play DayZ and any other games you want to play on it. That's what you wanted to know right?

Everyone spawns somewhere along the the coast, anyone who is north or west of the coast has either traveled by foot or been lucky enough to find a vehicle. As for helicopters.. they are ridiculously rare and are usually snapped up by clans or teams working together to fix them up to use, after which they are stored 'off map' so no one can find them. (man I hope that's fixed in standalone!) It can take 30 minutes of solid non-stop running to reach where a helicopter may spawn, you can make that journey and find nothing.

You have to actually play it. Just try it and see for yourself, unfortunately what watching videos does not do is give you the feelings you get from playing it. Would you watch a video for an electric razor... see that it gives a good shave and go out and buy it?

I imagine its more the speed of a processor that would help in Arma, not necessarily the number of cores. 3ghz+ should suffice.. Dual or Quad. http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Arma_2:_System_Requirements I would say the issue you have is the issue we all have, Arma 2's engine is widely accused of being poorly optimized, no matter what PC your playing it on. I dare bet no one has an entirely smooth DayZ experience.

To save time and to be blunt... to answer your question I'd have to say no, in its current state, it can't, or even if it could then it would be a pretty bad experience in terms of how many FPS you could get, even at low resolutions and minimum graphic quality settings. The game would likely be choppy as hell and hard to play.

Is it the model with or without the 8500GT graphics card? To be honest I assume it will struggle either way, Arma 2 is a demanding game, just ask my Phenom ii X4 940 and Ati6950 even mine struggles in some of the cities. Also if you went down the route of upgrading your graphics card you'd most likely need to upgrade the 300w Power supply them things ship with.

This would never be acceptable, the killing of children.. be them zombies, would be highly controversial. I highly doubt this idea would/will be implemented. However, for any sort of realism aspect of course it's a great idea, I mean in a real world scenario there would obviously be zombie/infected children. Have them on a splash screen for the game? I suppose you could yes.. but to have them in the actual gameworld.. I say no.

Usually I would say... I think its your video card about to crap out. but it don't look to be that type of issue, since the UI seems unaffected by the issue your having, that and the fact its only DayZ you having the problem with. Have you tried re-installing the game? or removing the @DayZ mod folder and re-downloading it? They the only things I can think of to help. Wish more people with problems would use a Video explanation, much more helpful to potential helpers to actually see the issue, beans for that!
