Must be getting hard to pay dev salaries now the game is not being bought twice every milisecond.

I don't buy the impatient sentiment, that's a load of baloney.. most players of this title have been MORE than patient, even the ones who've tooted the Alpha horn for years and frankly stuck up for the garbage. I bought this game Christmas 2013.. granted I have a hard time remembering that far back to even know how I felt about the game back then, however lost brain cells aside.. any opinions I had have probably not changed, its not like were swimming in all those planned features, even now still.. but in all honesty if I'd have known it would take this long (and for who knows how much longer) for the game to become something I'd actually enjoy as I did the mod, (the very reason I bought this game).. then I wouldn't have spent the money and would have bought more beer with the cash, for consumption over the festivities instead. Call me whatever.. impatient, a moaner, perhaps overly and unfairly critical.. I don't really care.. that's how I feel when I think of DayZ SA. Enjoy reading your re-worded status reports. The only difference most of the time is the content creators haha! I lost any hope of playing an enjoyable, finished version of DayZ a long time ago. Bring fucking Dean Hall back, that guy had some passion for the game at least. Oh hang on a minute.. but the new game engine, the better framerate.. how very dare I be even remotely unhappy?

Ahh, what's 8 more months when we've been waiting years? I wouldn't get too excited or anxious about that timeframe btw, it will only eat you alive and dissapoint you if in that time were still rapping fingers and twiddling thumbs. Gotta say, I'm actually looking forward to a Beta Dayz SA, an excuse to install the game again, it's been a while since my legs broke climbing a ladder.. can't wait :)

Don't nobody ever get tired of tooting the Alpha horn? good god.. its more annoying to read than the complaints, frustrations and feedback. People who constantly use the alpha term to excuse someones point should be banned for trolling.

So much optimism, oh how it makes my eyes water a lil' bit.. so when is the predicted release? a year, maybe two?

This game will never live up to the expectation put upon it.. never. I learned quite a long time ago, you either deal with it, or you don't. You can't be disappointed, it's not allowed nor forgivable on a game that's in development.. until the game stops being developed, I'm afraid your concerns and feedback is simply seen as the rants of a moaning, discontent, troll. This whole Alpha thing is great for providing excuses for a bad game and prolonging the games lifespan, but it is what it is. The game 'is' getting better, I tried experimental .60 and it was MUCH improved in regards to performance, but I didn't see enough to see me wasting away 1000's of hours like times once past. When I see DayZ in my steam library, its the last game I'd pick, I want and hope for that to one day change.

Only recently noticed? really? I find that impossible to believe, every-time I visit these forums/twitter or happen across someone talking about DayZ elsewhere on the WWW.. it don't take very long to see multiple posts of unrest. People are pissed off of waiting, be them right or wrong, that's what they are. Here's a quote from another site I visit.. Instead of me looking at it like they are talking out of their arse, instead it made me chuckle and I can't help but agree to an extent. I think there is a genuine fear and resentment of our beloved DayZ coming in last place in a race, a race that you were surely favorite to win, I mean, since you guys invented the race, set the rules and at conception it's sole competitor, you simply couldn't and shouldn't allow that 'last place' to happen or have happened, period. I'm changing the way I see this title from now on, So please no more explanation posts that just get peoples back up (no matter if intentions are good or to calm a storm) Stick all your chins up, forget or ignore what people are saying and just develop the game. Make it into something we will all love, the reason were all so passionate, disappointed and un-easy is not only because we want the game to be done eventually, but we want it to live up to expectation. Deliver it to the best of your abilities and all will be good. Sod timescales, just make for damn sure when the time comes its a fucking good game with zombies in it.. above all remember this.. They who may hate today, may love tomorrow.

You've been here a long time Irishjake and not unlike others still speculating great things about things we really know nothing about.. I love the enthusiasm, staying power and the hope all you guys have.. but I tend to go by eye and whats infront of me, even things what I've read from official sources I started to take with a pinch of salt especially after seeing dev roadmaps for 2014/15 go by. Only time will (and can) really tell us what this engine is really capable of; what it will do for the game in the long run and heck who cares.. we've been waiting this long, whats a few more years? People who are vocally unimpressed and I'd say fairly so in some respects, I hope are hushed one day and get what they were looking for out of DayZ, including myself :) Dean Rocket Hall literally sold me this game, I bought it because I REALLY (on an unhealthy level) enjoyed the mod that he made and his passion and vision to make the game its own entity bled into me,(not gonna lie also a little because it was cheaper to buy EA at that point in time).. the man didn't even need to say much about it.. it was one of them "just shut up and take my money" moments. He himself spoke of great things, things that were never going to be achievable with the mod, I just hope one day I will enjoy DayZ again and maybe this engine and all of what you said will come to fruition, I really hope so anyway. One day I shall install again :) Key word has been hope, if you didn't see it. You ever start to lose that and you start to end up like me, all grumpy and shit.. wish I was half as passionate and excited as some of you guys get over things, I used to get all wet, don't get me wrong.. but then certain things didn't meet certain planned times and wet started to go dry and hope started to fade away. Now you get someone like me :)

Ability to run games in DX11 depends on if you have a capable supported DX11 GPU and the required prerequisites installed on your PC from Microsoft https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/kb/179113 Also, if you keep your O/S up to date with windows updates and run other modern games, you most likely already have DX11 installed on your machine. Of course you also need your GPU (and the rest of your system) to be good enough and able to run the game itself, regardless of DirectX.

I've never understood the need for using "with" in that paragraph.. and at the end there "game functioning" would sound better as "Game functionality." WARNING: THIS GAME IS EARLY ACCESS ALPHA. PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE IT UNLESS YOU WANT TO ACTIVELY SUPPORT DEVELOPMENT OF THE GAME AND ARE PREPARED TO HANDLE WITH SERIOUS ISSUES AND POSSIBLE INTERRUPTIONS OF GAME FUNCTIONING. Even the grammar is Alpha.

Honestly, I think they are keeping it all under wraps, ready for when the games "core" is ready to accept all the new stuff and work as they intend it to. Way I see it.. they are already burdened with missed estimations disappointing players, past mistakes are being learned from maybe? So with that in mind, its probably pointless adding and talking about stuff we likely wont see for a while, that way we can't be discontent and salty if anything happens to stop any new things from being included. That's what I tell myself anyway when I'm feeling like I'm being an asshole myself. Either that or they will release a big content boom, Zombies and all.. that will literally make us look like assholes for questioning it for all this time, I want them to make me look like an asshole in all honesty! :) My Hicks comment was actually a silly attempt at humor (the way I spelled enthusiastic), I'm sure he'd be a good laugh to sit and have a beer with.

Please don't be one of those who mistakes genuine warranted criticism and feedback as hate or troll'ery. Pretty sure anyone who has any sort of interest in the game is really grateful for the video, infact grateful for anything development related. Highlighting concerns or asking questions (which we don't get the chance to on the video itself.. since comments are disabled) should be encouraged and welcomed, not seen as pathetic.

I guess we just want the game to be good, of course with the inclusion of what gives the Day its Z.. actual scary, life threatening, preferably non-bug ridden, flesh eating, Zombies.. and to be quite frank for these past few years it's just not been very good. I'm probably now the wrong kind of customer your looking for. You need them overly patient, forever optimist types and thankfully I've spied there are plenty.

I'm not embarrassed to say I played some Echo on the Mega Drive, didn't much like the game I have to say.. but back then when new games weren't coming out every week it gave me something to play until I got Road Rash 2.

Do you live at a zoo? Also, what are your PC specs? I ask so that people who may read this can see if they have similar hardware/setup.. and as such will get similar/same results as you do after making such changes. You see, the thing with PC's is their performance levels vary from machine to machine. For example, somebody who's maybe trying to play this game with a 9800GTX (an old GPU) will; in all likelihood, not see any improvement in framerate (that's if a 9800GTX can even run the game, but you get the point I hope).. even after doing all things in your guide here, since your GPU maybe is a GTX960 and is capable of running the game in the first place. Thanks for the Video, but as Irishjake said, it needs to provide more detailed info.

Don't matter.. he and other likeminded folk, will still love and defend the game, even if another 3 years passed by.. Makes me right fucking jealous (and have feelings of guilt) that I don't share that same mindset. I'm a good guy too, you could say.. it takes 3 years to piss me off haha!

Looks more to me like you demand that he likes the broken game and should not ask for it to be fixed. Demanding and asking are different things.
