Lots of noob hunting snipers hanging out in Balota these days, there is a need as a newly spawned player to be careful stopping there for any length of time. Once you have obtained a AKM or M16 from the small Airport and nearby deerstands across the way, get the hell out. Also with it being such a small place its easier for someone to spot you and then.. well you know what happens then.

Water Bottles, How Many Is Too Many?

I carry two, one on me and one in the bag. To find soda you must enter buildings heightening chance of zed/player ambush, to fill water bottles you just go to a safe pond. -
Stick one in the pack for a variable occasion, you can have both! :)

Why does my gear and equipment disappear randomly when I diconnect

I also have stuff disappearing from my alice pack from time to time, once I prepared 6 cooked meats and stuffed them in the bag for a long journey, popped off the game for a bit and upon return the meats were gone, the bag was empty! not sure why it happens :( -
I was on UK6 last night, same issue. No loot anywhere. Zombies were also dormant, just standing still even when right up in their face, at one point I even saluted one of them for kicks :)

Would be nice one day to have connectivity to the game and servers made noob friendly, thats for sure. Like have only ONE way to install and update etc.. to ensure EVERYONE is on the same version of the client, mod and server. Before Six Updater I struggled a little myself a few times, there is and was too many outdated threads on 'how to' regarding installing the mod etc.. -
The silenced M9 is my favorite of all handguns, for stealth and purely because it looks good. Ammo for them however is a right bitch to find unless your willing to risk a NW airfield raid. Next in line for me would be the 1911, closely followed by the revolver, one shot kills on a zed anywhere on their body. Remember though.. All handguns are a one shit kill if aimed in the right place, right between the eyes... be it a zed or another player :)

I get that sometimes, as if I'm not in sync with the server, or invisible. Most likely a glitch, running infront of one would be asking for trouble under normal conditions lol I even have times where I can find only varying rucksacks and crowbars for loot, like nothing else spawns anywhere.. then join a different server and everything is normal again.

I think they have the balance just about right, when I first started playing you could crouch walk almost right infront of them without aggravating them, now at least you have to be a fair distance 20 or so meters or they just spot you easier than a sniper. Definitely harder than they were, are they hard enough? I think so.

You can't have Cigarettes without Alcohol, so put some fluid in them empty Whisky bottles! :) Crap idea anyway, smoking is bad for you.. but then what the heck... so are zombies and loot stealing bandits!

How fast can you get the basic gear?

Usually takes me about 15-30 minutes at any coastal city to find the necessary survival gear, any weapon (sidearm or rifle with a bit of ammo), a Map, Compass, Knife, Hatchet and a Water bottle (empty or filled) after that I head north. Kill an animal on the way up for food, & Bobs your uncle. Anything else I need is found on my northern adventures, where its generally less populated and more safe :) -
The best part was you falling off after the kill, made me chuckle :lol: Did you die from the fall, or have time to revive yourself?

Your 6 reasons for banditry suck, be honest, you really just kill for fun, the thrill of seeing another player bite the dust to make you feel mighty powerful inside, don't you?... just like any other bandit in this game. I kill for pure pleasure if I'm in the mood to player kill, I was turned this way by many people who killed me for their own pleasure.. and to take my loot. Infact, Whoever is running around with my recent deathbringing M24, that earned me at least 10 trophies.. well done, may you lose it to a hatchet to the cranium.

You could set up your own group of friends that don't use microphones like yourself. There are other means of communication that you can use instead of speaking such as the Steam overlay, Xfire or Raptr, which you can use text to message each other. Good Luck! I have yet to find a group that offers a place to someone with no mic. You can start a trend :)

Not sure never tried it at solni.. I can tell you a good spot though, got me 8 kills in 30 minutes the other day! then after I got killed when I moved looking for a different spot, lost my M24 with a ruck full of ammo to a macarov wielding non-friendly lol :( Go to the little town behind Balota airfield, walk backwards from the tower you will end up halfway up a hill, about 350-400 meters away from the tower.. go prone at a certain spot and you can see the control tower door and upper level and easily pick off anyone looking for spoils :)

If he logged out (alt-f4) before his death there would be no death message, he would likely be bleeding/broken bones upon his return though. Depending on how quick you died yourself after firing at him is a telltale sign.. if it was him he would need to boot the game back up after he alt-f4'd.. join a different server, fix himself up then move to a spot he thinks would be behind you.. then log out of that server, log back into the server your in then find and kill you.. all that commotion takes quite a few minutes. Maybe someone else was there. Afterall the NW Airfield is a dangerous, popular place.

That's an annoying thing about attaching tents to individual servers, if the server goes.. so does your stuff :( I have lost some cool stuff and much needed supplies to servers shutting down. Now I find servers that have a clan/team attached to it, more chance of them type of servers staying up for longer. -
I would leave joining any of these new beta servers until something is fixed, I just spawned on the beach with the character select screen.. last night I was in balota looting for food and went prone in a tree to log off. Logged in tonight to all this crap.. just great. lost a lot of cool stuff and a couple days of playtime :(

OP is right six updater has delivered an update (to a new beta client) and now its impossible to join servers.
