First time on a hardcore server for the vanilla mod and I absolutely had a blast. HOWEVER I will be sticking to the 434 server for the majority of my vids :) This was just a one off experience I wanted to share with you all. Either way I hope you all enjoyed!

That is possible, I actually did hear him for a -split- second but it was inaudible. Regardless I would of thought he would of tried at least doing some movements like hand gestures and what-not.

I believe I did during the 5 minutes of just yelling at him :P But yeah I have had to do that several times before, which is usually okay. But this guy just didn't even want to bother :/

Like I said every system is different and your settings will require specific working. BUT I'd say leave shadows on high and try putting the other FPS hoggers to normal or high. For example object details (there is a few different settings regarding objects) and everything that doesn't hog FPS (for example terrain detail) pump it up to high or very high. Just see how it goes. IF it is still too bad then trying turning things -down- NOT off completely. Only ever turn it off completely for last resort.

It depends entirely on your GPU, from what your telling me I'd guess it is fairly mid-range. I believe that it is simply a matter of balance, you have to get your settings right just for your PC. If you put your graphics too low DayZ will run primarily on your CPU instead of using both CPU and GPU. I'd say when you put shadows to "Very High" your GPU is being taxed too much, probably because of the poor optimization with the game itself however lowering it to "high" was enough to balance out the usage.

So I have been playing DayZ standalone for the past 12 months or so straight, loving and hating it with all my spare time. I've recently taken to starting a youtube channel to just share my experiences with you all, which has been awesome. I'm loving it. HOWEVER.... The game is now unplayable for me and I was hoping you all could help me out with this. About 4-5 patches ago I was running this game on high (nearly max) settings. Solid 40 fps in most towns, only problem was desync but I could handle that. Now? The game is unplayable, EVERY town I enter immediately not only gives me epic desync issues but also causes my frame rate to drop from a solid 40-50 (in open fields away from buildings) to about 8-12 when entering the towns/cities. Here is my PC specs: GPU: GeForce GTX 750 (rougly 3-4 months old) CPU: Intel® Core i5-4440 CPU @ 3.10GHz Memory: 4GB RAM OS: Windows 7 I realise my rig is definitely not ideal for running this game, but I just don't understand how my game can go from running so well to basically unplayable. Is this simply an issue from development? Is there something I can actually do to stop this? PLEASE for the love of god do NOT tell me to check out guides on youtube and what not, I have done them ALL. All were useless and told me nothing I already didn't know (or do). This DOES include changing config files! Thanks in advance!
