Hey guys, Just a quick, shameless server plug. This is an Epoch server. The general theme is Wasteland style, though it is not strictly PvP. There will be special event/missions with booty. We have added tanks and various anti tank vehicles and weapons to the traders, as well as various other items and weapons. New stuff is added regularly, and sometimes there will be sale prices on certain items. Basically this is a server for players whom are looking for more of a challenge. For those players that have the zombies figured out and no longer pose a threat to them. There are a lot of servers like this so its just up to you to try it out. Active adult admins, anti-hacks, etc. We would like to develop a community to give us ideas to improve the server. You develop the server with your ideas. Its very low pop right now, its new. Its a Chicago based server. Side chat is disabled, but we are looking at getting a teamspeak or something like that soon, if it is requested. There will be no "Pay to Win" aspect at all, as this is for players looking for advanced combat situations and various other challenges. (we don't want to do a straight up Wasteland server because we like zombies.) However, for a limited time we will hook players up with a briefcase to get them started, if they wish. There will be a forum or website set up soon, if we get enough players. You can contact an admin in-game via direct chat. Just type "admin", as there is usually one monitoring... Adding more weapons and vehicles this week. Most Armed vehicles are on "sale" also. Adding trash items to be sold to traders for gold.

I have used dayz.st alot.. and I would say NO. The "admin tools" are really easy to use, though limited.You can only access your mission/server PBO, which can limit the mods that you do. You can add buildings via the database, its kinda tricky, but there are tuts out there. IMO, their customer service isnt that great, and i dont ask for much. It seems like they just have a bad attitude sometimes, but thats a matter of opinion. to me the only thing dayz.st has going for them is the admin tools. they are easy to use but actually limited compared to others that allow you full access to all files. Also dayz.st seems to be prone to DDoS attacks( my server has been down for 4 days, with no real contact from dayz.st about what is going on!) I have used other providers, but i dont have enough experience with them to say. I am currently using dayzpriv and am very happy so far. they are very friendly and respond quickly to your questions (with answers). they allow full access to everyfile and they also have better admin tools though trickier to use.. Idk if they have servers in your area, but i would consider them.

I have searched the inter webs mightily and cannot find this. I know its a matter of opinion, blah blah blah. I dont want to talk about that, I just want to know if anybody knows of a script that can disable autohover(and by that I mean that I am an admin and would like to remove it from my server so that NO player can use it). any ideas or leads are MUCH appreciated. Thank you VERY MUCH to whomever can help on this.

How did you get the AS50 permitted? I wonder if you could do a similar thing with allowing a HMMWV with a turrent? any ideas?

Hey man. Im working on a server right now. Its a regular DayZ server. its St. Louis based so idk how your ping will be 199.217.115.210:2342 Right now I'm currently working on the server, I changed to a different host due to dayz.st having DDos attacks and their lack of support, so its still being set up. It has a Custom Map (which includes a few more buildings here and there aesthetically placed , like Kamenka, so you don't get that crappy spawn. Most of the Major cities have a few more buildings all of which spawn loot and zombies) there is even a "prison" at Stary Sobor. It will have auto refuel, which will be "slow". Possibly Self Blood, though im still debating on that. Im shooting for a 5hrday/3hrnight setup. The loadout will be basic, tho you get a M16a2 right now while im working on it. the server should be completed in the next day or two. also i am going to try and disable voice in sidechat. feel free to check it out just remember its "Under construction" for the next few days.. No name plates, it is veteran. also trying to disable autohover. check it out.

i do not think this should go into the init.sqf. I have had no luck. It should be it own separate thing, like auto refuel...

Im still trying these out. So far either absolutely nothing is affected, or the server will not load. If anyone could help with specifics on how/where to put these. It says the init, but im trying that and its not working..

Thanks a lot man, i havnt found this yet. I'll look into it... I have seen the second one, i havnt been able to get it to work. im testing the first one now.. Changing Manual fire to Autohover.. I think I may be putting them in the wrong place or somthing..

What the F#@k is wrong with the DayZ players today? I remember when I first started playing DayZ, at least a year ago. You remember when somebody would say "Anybody in Cherno?" and you could watch side chat, 5 minutes later, they would team up with somebody else who was marooned in Cherno by themselves and then they would head north and play some mother flippin' dayz. These days however, "Anybody in Cherno?" is usually followed by a death message.I understand that over time, players have developed the "don't trust anybody mentality", because of bandits and player killers. That i understand, but its the absolute cowardice and shameful behavior of today's players that is ruining the game. I recently rented a server, its still very low pop, I wont use this as an opportunity to do a plug, because I'm sure whomever shows up will be a real piece of crap and ruin my experience. I was playing today, just now, when i was inspired to create this rant. I broke my leg and was killed by zombies. I re spawned. No gear, just a "vest pouch" a can of beans and a bandage. There were only two other players on the server. I went on to looting. I found an M16, one mag, some food and even a big ass 12 slot backpack. I was owning it. I'm running down the east coast, in the tree line, and a player runs out in front of me, small world!?. it scared me! I myself have been corrupted, i popped off a few rounds. He evaded me in the pine trees. i followed in the direction he was headed for a little bit with no real hostile intentions, I immediately regretted shooting at him. I saw a zombie, shot it. he may have heard it. i figured i had lost him and I'm pretty sure he was a new spawn because i don't think i saw a gun. I decided to leave him alone.Then i caught a glimpse of him in the distance. What the heck?, I'll follow him and see what he does. I followed him into Solinichy, or whatever its called. Keeping my distance. I had to shoot another zombie, I'm sure he heard me shoot. Then i saw him again, he ran to the end of a dock and logged out. His buddy who was on also, then began trying to distract me telling me there was a chopper somewhere or whatever.. I didn't respond, I knew what he was trying to do. A minute later, the other one logged out too. These guys would play on this server for hours at a time. Nobody bothered them because there rarely was anybody on. Fixing vehicles, crashing them. Fixing a helo, crashing it, they were persistent little turds. But, because of that little interaction, they haven't been back. I laugh, because if they can't handle that, then what are they gonna do on another server with lots of players? ridiculous. Some 12 year old kid shoots at you, and misses, and then loses site of you, they are sure to be gone 30 seconds after for fear of a counter attack. So if somebody shoots at you, you d@mn well better kill them in less than 30 seconds. What if they hit you? and your about to die? They don't even have the guts to stay and finish the job most of the time. So your stuck with a broken leg 2000m from any potential source of morphine. and not a decent person in site to put you out of your misery. The human interaction aspect of the game is garbage now, because your not interacting with humans anymore. Your dealing with some young, dumb 12 year old, that doesn't know jack squat about being a man and doing the right thing or some DayZ veteran that has been torn, by the behavior of the average DayZ scumbags, that run rampant today. I don't usually mess with people on my server, unless they are trash talking or being complete dbags. I try to be nice and help people. If somebody needs a ride. i give it to them. I don't care if i notice that they are holding a DMR as they approach the car. i get killed a lot by the players on the server. I'm ok with that, I understand that if your getting shot at by everyone and lied to and tricked by bandits and trolls and abusive admin, when you come to a server without that, you still act the same way. i get it. but its just a game? Wouldn't you have more fun playing it with others the way it is supposed to be played? If you get scared and log out, then your playing it all wrong. Its not real life. Its a simulation. Act the way a decent human being would act in that situation. Of course i realize that most people today aren't decent human beings but... hey, what can ya do? What I'm trying to say is this, Play the game the way it was meant to be played. Screw all the stupid youtube videos with "hero bandits". its a shame that this is what it has come to. the whole point of the game is to survive as long as you can, to realize who you would be in a situation like that. "whats your story?". That's the caption for the game,"whats your story?", not "how much of a scum bag are you?". Those guys that make the videos don't last very long in game. i know that player versus player is an important aspect of the game, but its not the only one. I blame most of the admins for this. If the server doesn't have 10,000,000 vehicles or some bogus script mods to make it easier, they wont play, because its too hard. WELL SCREW THEM! Don't accommodate those little pricks. They are the reason that the game is the way it is now. Keep your severs vanilla. If your players don't like that then they should go play WOW or pokemon or whatever little girls play nowadays. if they cant spawn in with a gun and find a vehicle within the first 10 minutes to go to the NWAF and find a helo, they dont wanna play it, because they'll get shot and have to start over boo hoo:.( because its too hard that way. What do you think they would do if they had a helo with m240s on it. THEY WOULD PLAYER KILL! Do you see what i mean? That's everybody's goal now is to get geared up and kill players because that's what they've been taught, by guys like "Frankie"( i love to watch Frankie"s vids because of how he interacts with people, but these kids just see him killing other players and think that is how is supposed to be done, they wanna be "beast" like Frankie.). but if you do the same to them, they dont like it. I play on my server all the time, i don't cheat and spawn crazy stuff for me, because its not fun that way. I rented a server because i like to play DAYZ. I don't like to play on other servers where they are overrun with admin buddies and the cooperative aspect has been destroyed. Its frustrating to play now... maybe I'm not explaining it well enough. I am afraid of what is going to happen with this game. I love this game. I love Zombies, I love the human nature aspect of this game. But dear God, this cant be it. This cant be the way that people are. It didn't use to be like this. I pray everyday that the zombie apocalypse happens, but recently, my lack of faith in humanity, has changed my mind. If it did happen for real, we would all probably just get trolled for our beans by some 12 year old with a .50cal.. I wouldn't be surprised if the SA is a flop. I know everyone will get it when it comes out, but they will quickly realize that ultimately it is the same as the DayZ mod. A bunch of 12 year olds, without the testicular fortitude to behave like decent self respecting human beings. and they will ruin the SA just like they have the mod. Maybe I'm taking it too seriously? I don't know. Don't get me wrong though, I love to mess with people. One of my favorite things to do now (unfortunately) is to shoot "at" a player. Don't hit him, just shoot at him. Watch what he does. Shoot at them and then press the "P" key. You will not be surprised. if they don't log out, you will hear them whimper on side chat. That's pretty much what will happen. But every once in a while, they'll man up, and stay in, and stay alive. A glimmer of hope? I don't do this to all the players on my server, but every once in a while, I'll mess with a "regular". They may log out and never return. Or we will have a nice laugh about it and call a truce and play the game together, like its supposed to be played. I don't care either way. I'd rather have no players on my server then 50 Dbags. If there were no players on my server that would be the only way to get a real simulation of a zombie apocalypse, because there wouldn't be anybody. Just me. With my morals intact. Maybe I'm too opinionated? Yes i am. It is my strong opinion that the apocalypse will be a lonely place because very few people would have what it takes to survive, and if you were to meet somebody, you would have to kill them, because our society is rotten to the core. Back stabbing Cowards. I'm not totally sure of what this rant was supposed to be about, i just needed to get if off my chest. Because I care about this game, and i care about the future of this game. I've been playing video games since Atari, Yes, I'm old. I'm 26. I've seen everything. I've watched this younger generation grow up, right behind me, in a totally different world. I remember the toys i had when i was a kid in comparison to what kids grow up with nowadays... Lets just say when i was a kid, my buddies would have beat me up if i was being brought up like the generation after us. I remember if my dad caught me wearing "pads" or a helmet to ride my bike or skateboard, he would have laughed at me, my mom too. They wanted us to grow up tough. they wanted us to fall and get hurt. And we did. I've probably had more injuries in my first 12 years, than today's pansy ass 23 year olds in total. It was literally that quick of a change. I'm so glad that i was born when i was and not 3 years later. I did 4 years in the United States Marine Corps, EERRRRAAAHHH! I know a thing or two about "human nature" in a stressful environment. And the weak morals of today's society could never hack it in a situation like this, because you can't combat log in real life. Instead, you would die because your a coward and you would be petrified when the bullets start flying. I'm terribly sorry if you hated reading this, I'm sure you probably did, because statistically your just another DayZ Dbag. However, In the rare case you are not, and your moral fiber is mature enough for a game like this, PLEASE!!!,please, don't let them ruin you. don't let them destroy this game, just like they did the little plastic green and tan army men i had when i was a kid, i cant find them anymore, and if i do, they are crappy, made in china garbage that wouldnt be worth the "blackcat" that i would tape to them and send them to hell on, those tan scumbags!.. Whenever there is something good, it always gets ruined by these very people. And everybody else that gives a d@mn, doesn't have it in them to fight for it anymore. Just like this country is going down the toilet. ...i wrote the damn thing, and i didnt say i hated KoS. Also, i would have at least looted his body if i did kill him. when i followed that guy i was shooting at zombies. AND thats not the name of the server so... You guys are crazy. if you want to try and turn this around on me, at least use my actual words in the context that i used them...

what do you think of a server that will require you to add a fb page in order to be allowed access? Just so everybody will sorta know who they are playing with? and if somebody combat logs or something, they can be publicly humiliated! ahahha love it? this isn't to discourage bandits, quite the opposite. instead it would be to eliminate the advantages that integrity violators have, in that their actions could be pointed out to the public.

That is you will be required to add a fb page to get the passwords and allowed access. The idea is, combat loggers and integrity violators can be ridiculed via a fb page, which should eliminate most of the cowardice. If you dont like this idea, i dont care. go play somewhere else... a bit extreme I know, but so is DayZ. SUCK IT!!! also this is a "vanilla" server, but there are extra buildings to enhance the crappy places on the map, that is all.
