    It'd be nice to see other peeps throwing ideas in though, or even trying to tear the idea down. The only way you create a water proof idea is by criticising it to find flaws. Again there probably is peeps who would, its jsut too much reading for the casual browser :( Thank ye anywayz XD

    Herbal Botany [Natural Food & Medicine]

    Definately a good idea, cannay believe i didnt bump it whence i first came across it. I was thinking this would be a nice option for a cultivation plot or greenhouse perma fixture, that could be used not only to harvest food but also location specfic spawns of particular plants for botany. The greenhouse wouldnt be as practical as a cultivation plot but could serve for inner city occupations, specifically peeps whove occupied the hospital and wished to refine the ingredients into more refined compounds (i linked this to another thread a did a while ago: control rural industry)

    Tbh ive taken a break from ze game and ze forums as the lateness of this reply might indicate, (returned from the best festival EVER [might be OTT] to a housemate whos spitroasted my power supply, so its not even voluntary) Its a bit upsetting sometimes when ye realise ye may of put too much info into a thread and either noone can think of what else to add or cannay be arsed reading. :( Ah well, tbh i was starting to tend more towards building that controlling rural thread, not as exciting as some of the stuff mentioned in this, but i like the possibility of adding foraging (with specific spawning fauna for diff locations) and botany. And taking that further to refining compounds in the hospital.
  4. Ai this be school of thought i was thinking of XD I wrote a small thread on group dynamics linking both those controlling threads. The main idea was that by creating these deeper team objectives that have an impact on the server environment you create a situation by which only the largermore organised groups will be able to hold down areas, and so the biggest occupations tend towards more open groups willing to take on people, i.e the ones more likely to have people there 24/7. You make this game mechanic/play accessible by creating different objectives/occupations to suit different sized groups and loners.

I dont actually mind this idea, i remember posting something similiar in terms of the skill book thing but got shot down pretty quickly XD reducing the toolbelt capacity seems like a reasonable way to limit skills. Tbh i think its possible for the opposite to occur, someone having the knowledge that they cant hold all skills at the same time and therefore need others to organise and conduct operations quickly and efficiently. The idea for blue prints especially is very interesting, because it enables sandbox type creation aswell as leaving avenues open for introducing new items/weapons/base addons when the game is fully fledged.

    :') The urge built up for too long Yea remember reading over that, tbh that enitre thread and our discussion very much inspired this, been citing it ever since XD Really do need to clear up parts and add more sources though, tis difficult when theres a fine balance of peoples attention, put in too much and theres nothing left to say :(
  7. This is almost like a scenario that would be interesting to see peeps thoughts on. Related to an earlier thread i made on occupying and reclaiming industry Control Old Industry and another thread on rural industry for small groups and loners Control Rural Industry If groups were to occupy police stations/prisons/electric plants/garages/factories and use their facilities within them, then it sets as a source of negotiative power as a group on a server. Further (not intentionally envoking Darwinism) only the most biggest/most organsied groups will be able to hold down the hottest spot, or most frequently visited. Meaning its more likely that friendly groups, ie peeps who are open to newcomers and share weapons etc will dominate, largely due to numbers. And if areas are divided over control, there may even be incentive for those opposing groups to enlist new spawns, even if they use them as cannon fodder, it creates incentives for more dynamic interactions. Whilst not punishing or completely banishing the lone wolves/trolls. Anyone think this has the potential to change the outlook on electro or cherno? Or what faults do ye see in this?

    What kind of traps can you think of?

    Tbh i like any notion of making traps a sandbox and free mechanic, would make spotting/identifying traps more difficult aswell rather then the more experienced players become used to specific skins and shapes XD

    My Friends & Mine Ideas.

    Tbh i like some of the ideas here, especially the kennel, if dogs are introduced and you have to tame them, this would be a cool location for spawning a domesticated dog stuck in a cage. And possibly meds for your dog if it is injured XD As for the shopping mall, im all in for diversifying the map so i dont see a problem with that either. Even towns have malls.

XD thnx for ze bump and i see what ye mean about identification, ive seen a thread before discussing the potentials of groups or especially clans reaching certain conditions before being allowed to petition the devs for their own clan uniform. But part of me also thinks this too is relying on dev help, it would be great to see some mechanic for designing or customising clothes yourself and I thought about it adding it originally to the industry thread but decided to omit it after not recalling many threads discussing or motivated towards customisable clothing, there probably is though. This is a good thread however at least showing how customisable clothing would be a great feature Homemade Ghillie Suits whilst this thread argues even further customisation of the ghillie suit Stealth, Ghillie suits etc. I see what ye mean about the tags and tbh i do think there should be a tag system aswell, if not because of the conditions that might be introduced for uniforms, but for the fact the graphics will never match the ability for peeps to instantly recognise one another irl. I always thought a proximity for tags could be introduced with a color distinction for unknown and known players (not bandits and survivors), its already there in-game it just hasnt been tweaked with. But unfortunately i do not agree with any kind of NPCs, apart from the zombies and animals, any humans have got to be human yup yup and yuuup, lots of the things ye mentioned have popped up in random posts spread over the threads mentioned in this and those industry ones (they are basically compilation threads), apart from the radio scenarios ye mentioned XD I see them all as plausible outcomes and, more importantly, not unlikely. Creating very interesting experiences XD

    -1 i doubt NPC's will ever be in this game and damn right too! DayZ is something different to every other MMO/FPS, it really shouldnt hold your hand at any time

    Yeaa tbh ***ers are pretty high on my list of worlds top tossers, somewhere in between David Starkey and Michael McIntyre (both accomplished and critically acclaimed tossers) I dont so mind the jokers, the hackers who know that its all easy, and are just bouncing around doing silly shit and not killing peeps. Its just even those ones are kinda ruining the development process, sooo i still think its out of order. [Don't try to bypass the word filter, it's there for a reason - 4L4N]

    lol worry not, to much paranoia on this game as it is. messaged one of the admins bout this thread and hes had a look. he thinks it was a dysncing issue too so its all sound matey :) hmmm yea thought it was a sniper XD

  24. lol ive had to cunningly plan my time and make excuses. Was in team speak with someone once who said their gf just stormed out, because she made him chose for the night between her and the game... i think ye can guess what their choice was, lol!!!!!
