  1. BUmpty fecking bump! had this problem for ages and its only in the last week or so ive been trying to fix it with no avail. OTHER DIFFERENCES NOTICED. Apart from the colour of the interface, and no zeroing/rangefinder, you also cant see whether your using burst, semi or full. PLEASE HELP! ive installed a variety of different betas including reinstalling the game, infact the problem started when i first had to use the beta in conjunction with the DayZ updates (1.7 update i think) :( Intel Core2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 DDR2 4Gb RAM

Or could have flies around it when dropped so that other survivors may think they approaching a survivors body (another distraction/potential trap) Drinks Water Bottle: Separate into parts (quarters maybe?)     Make it possible to eat raw meat?

    Errrr noo, unless ye can do it immediately, i already think ye shouldnt be able to carry round raw/cooked meat for ages without it going off. Surely what your suggesting is slow suicide. BLeh. Maybe if when the meat went off ye could throw it as a distraction for zeds, or a head fuck for survivors.

    Na i dont like this idea, unless the rules changed so players were fixed to servers, and could have diff characters in diff servers, thatd sit more comfortable with me.

    Bumpety bump this. THis reminded me briefly of the Blob (film) which regardless on how ye feel bout horror genre and film making, cant be denied as an original film. What if the mist was like slightly corrosive aswell. Not necessarily that it damaged players, but corroded clothes/skin so that another survivor could tell if some noob had spent too much time in the mist.

    -1 nooo sorry there should be less stats, and if possible get rid of ze monitor. DOnt mind accumulative stats, but they should be given to you at ze end of your life.

    also, i like the idea ye can contain yourself in buildings to save yourself from ze mist, it may be at odds with some of the suggestions(my own included :S) of facilities/crash sites containing the mist. If the devs were happy with the idea of facilities on the island being connected to the source of infection however, then im sure these buildings would be a justifiable exception XD

    Indeed, i know i suggested before that I purely like the idea of the mist being attached to the hoarde, but having it attached to sites/facilities connected to the outbreak could add an extra levels depth/organisation in exploring such areas.

    wow, developed a bit since i been to bed XD Yea i dont mind this idea much if the gas masks were not that frequent, a rag could double up as a potential bandage too. Its a good point though not to get bogged down in a variety of diff gas masks.

    nooo, nothing for after death scenarios. I think there should be a defib, but only for advanced med procedures/ peeps very close to death, not actually dead though.
  12. indeed, personally though i dunno if thats gonna come unless the forums gets more staff attached :( there are clearly well established or reoccuring threads/ideas/fixes/suggestions. but yea if they had maybe a section for items, mechanics etc. I still feel like the threads would still cross over in topic.

    Ive seen alot of debates occuring on here, mostly off thread, about what peeps are actually avoiding in this game. Clearly the zombie format, but the conditions for the infected havnt been laid out. Ive always thought itd be a cool idea if players could become infected, and eventually die whilst AI takes over their body as a unique zed. If you entered the mist, for too long, there could be an unexpected point where you switch to AI zed, or stay infected for too long aswell. However i dunno how this would change gameplay. It might encourage overpopulated towns like electro n cherno to spread out more over the map. Until more organised elements cleared them out XD Or it could make the respawning process a night mare, requiring you to spend at least half an hour in the woods before you find a safe town.. which actually might be quite cool, if that had the effect of encouraging survivors/bandits to camp more in the paths of newly spawned survivors. Sure i expect youd be killed many times, but i guess it wouldnt be many attempts before you encountered a group that was more willing to communicate.

    yaay XD yea that sounds like a cool idea, i dunno if i like it travelling seperate to zombie hoardes though. the semantic realist in me would be saying surely the mist will dissapate and spread and everyone would eventually being infected If it had a proximity around hoardes, itd also be an interesting problem to deal with at established settlements that became surrounded XD +1 !!! ye could have a specific area of ze map aswell that was associated with the source of the infection, that would require you to dom full biohazard gear to enter. bit excessive i know as there would have to be whole host of features developed around possible other uses for ze suit, aswell as payoffs for entering the facility anywayz.
  16. Soo this is more a suggestion for the structure of this forum. At first when I joined, I was enthusiastic about throwing some ideas in, seeing as id spent well over a decade dreaming of an immersive zombie game (i always liked the idea of combining fps with a birds eye strategy element but nm), only to realise there is no such thing as an original idea. IS it possible to have a section that is dedicated to established ideas (electricity/item suggestions) and/or issues (sanity, exploit fixes)? Im very much aware that the admins here are already swamped with work, but seeing as there are frequent posters and searchers on this forum, im sure alot of peeps are aware of some repetatively occuring suggestions. With soo many peeps quick to bitch that theres already been a million and a half threads here there and everywhere, I bet even several of the dedicated posters on this forum could easily between them stockpile alot of reoccuring threads in the same thread as a starter. Really only a suggestion, i know how unmerciful ye all can be, and i know with so many peeps joining, admin roles must be overwhelming. It just feels like potentially some good ideas keep getting lost and misplaced, even from sincere peeps who, lets be honest grieve at the sight of that search funtion. dont lynch me :(

    Sanity as a stat

    soo many sanity/insanity threads, its clearly something peeps want implemented. from what ive read of them however, i can see how there are peeps out there who dont like the idea of any negative effects being tied to having a large kill count, and tbh i can see where they're coming from. Soo if a sanity stat was introduced i think both sides of the spectrum would have positives and negatives. If it were me id make the whole porcess far more progressive that only advanced, large kill count players would begin to notice. But seeing as the players with large kill counts are likely to be solo operating, they should probably be given some other positive to counter such life threatening negatives youve suggested (just firing a gun in this game is reason enough to become more alert), like a higher resiliance to damage (just imagining ze lone stereotypical psychopath that always seems to absorb more damage then a normal human is capable of). buut this all still feels not quite right to me, no doubt a group of mates would link up once kill coutn was sufficient and proceed to own a servers southern shore, BLeh.

    MMm maybe, but i dont think its outside of developers capacity to increase map size and increase number of players. (Also they are not attached to just one server, but a limited number) Although no where near as graphically intensive, there are plenty of MMOs that hold larger numbers of players. And there are examples over the last few years of FPS games with servers hosting large numbers, I mean MAG can hold like 200, 250+ peeps? Shit game, but still.... and their servers are atrocious for that matter. Hmmm. Well that was a few years ago, i refuse to believe that FPS servers cannot and/or will not get to the techniological point of holding all players, and seeing as weve had fps servers with 50 players for over a decade now, i think its time we started thinking limited massive servers, in size and occupation
  19. Hmm yea theres some good ideas in here. It makes me feel uncomfortable that a restriction is being put on a player but peeps really shouldnt be server hoping for loot, or ghosting!!! The main problem i see in this, is peeps being subject to this punishment for genuine reasons like some explained, finding a server that meets their suiting, I always play Day Z during the night, it would suck if i never got to play a server operating a diff time zone. But not until at least Day Z is in beta format, then i see this as a potential. Whilst Server Hosts cant uniformly decide on which what arma2 patch over which DayZ update under that hackers shit pile, restart, restart!!!

    tbh i went on a server once, bout a month ago, and after playing for a while and entering the first town on it, found no zeds, after a while i realised that the server had a few dozen peeps on it, with nooo zeds. I asked on side channel what was going on, and a couple of peeps told me, "its a loot server"... eh?

    hmmm, 50m - 100m aint that far really, i see this as better for discouraging ghosting. The only solution to this whole problem might actually be just reducing the number of servers, increasing the numbers of people they can hold. And, i hate to say it peeps, fix survivors down to a limited number of them (so peeps can at least have the option of choosing night and day, some peeps can only play some periods of the day). Maybe once their life is up they have more freedom to rechoose which servers.

    Remove tents completely.

    err i say not to be honest, tents are part of the whole reason why i stay stuck to this game, specifically because i see the intention of permafixtures on servers and oooh the potentials for where that could lead to. If the game is developed along the lines id hope for then groups of people would have far more established set ups whilst tents would literally be essential for the lone wolves or tiny groups operating far away from established safe zones. and ps, half an hour later you saw him again south of NWA with gillie sniper and NVG? potentially very unlucky :S a very happy camper or hacker methinks

    Urgh your arrogance annoys me DELTA they are there, the problem is that vehicle spawns are not randomised http://dayzwiki.com/wiki/index.php?title=Vehicles just check this out an go looking as for camps, meeh ive not found any excessive ones, but small set ups with tents n vehicles, indeed they are abooot.
