Respawn exploit. Why are you guys thinking so hard?

there hasnt been a stance on it, alot of things are being debated as exploits or not. Personally i feel it kind of is, but is balanced by the fact that it would be hard to have a shop which has thousands of items already spawned. Please dont pussyfoot pretentious commentry. indeed. -
Indeed... oh feck it why not Dawn of the Dead (remake) Land of the Dead (Dead Reckoning) (the missle launcher on the top is used to shoot fire works!!!(defo an item that needs to be introduced)) Mad Max Book of Eli (only pic of vehicles??) The Road (starting to get a bit desperate now) Even hyundai are on it: Is it not serious to think that a survivor who has mechanics skills isnt gonna mod this well polished grand-momma-mobile.

+1 to that, especially the shelter principle, i think clothes should get soaked by rain/swimming and should stay wet consistently drawing your temperature down at a faster rate until dried by fire or by midday/after noon sun. Bandit hunting is lots of fun, adds more experiences to the game aswell as more memorable interactions. XD -
also forgot to add that it is being ported over to arma 3, and maybe not COMPLETELY customisable, as surely real life examples of potential coded vehicles would be clearly impractical and in some cases impossible. But even if ye had a few set designs for each vehicle, requiring a specific amounts of scrap metal, ye would be safe as fook! Until ye run out of fuel in range of a sniper :S

Amazing how many peeps dont know how grim its gone over the past 4/5 years. nm I guess you could say its more a testament to the power of money then human potential.. I still think ye should be able to mod vehicles in this fashion XD

I understand that, tis a very disturbing topic, ive read well into it so im not completely ignorant of whats going on there, but I think it at least gives a real life example of the kind of vehicles im talking about, rather than drawing up numerous film examples.

+1 this is pretty cool, i started another random thread on coal mine environment and the conversations ive had came close to this territory http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/32531-coal-mines-problems-with-heat-extra-environment-items-linked-threads/ this gives another reason for tracks to be utilised, would be quite a sight to see a train colliding with a hand car :S

+1 I think water bottles should be partioned, ie so multiple gulps can be taken/shared, would also work with leaving canteens in the rain to fill up with water, slowly by partition. AND remove the -1 from your first suggestion XD

+1, naaaa flint would last much longer! Chips a pocket rock of it from the quarry and carry it in your special inverntory XD

I think this is a sick idea, when DayZ is a stand alone the environment should be packed full of variation. But i do agree there needs to be a balance of activities and payoffs in the environment that suite large clans to small groups of friends to lone wolves.

Peeps argue on whether its an exploit to get an ideal spawn. Peeps accidently pushing it. To be honest, i did press it a couple of days ago. 20 odd hours of playing, I was a bit sleepy, its not my fault! :'( If an extra "are you sure" option isnt being added then please disable it. I do respawn for ideal locations, but i do see it as an exploit. Thoughts?

although im not sure on the precise mechanics i have heard of issues around this, (not confirmed) apparently disconnecting from the server also causes your body to despawn.. At least ive heard someone urgently demanding others close by to search a bandits body before he buggers off the server XD -

I think a general area of spawning wouldnt really solve anything apart from make population bias worse. I see what ye mean though as I have used respawn for useful reasons but only due to bugs. Maybe if the option was introduced to you after a couple of hours of game play. And not neccessarily, as not all the spawn points are near towns, and at the very least it would break down the time of repetative jumps from game to lobby. -

Firstly i wasnt aware rocket wanted us to do anything specific on this game at all, apart from not hack. The point on meta gaming is it is unrelated system that can be utilised in game, its an exploit in itself because others who might be standing next to you cant hear your communication, sorry but your gonna have to link to validate that. No not everyone flocks to cherno & electro, it jsut a good spawning point, if i couldnt respawn and spawned on the eastern coast, i wouldnt run to electro! And even if there is a stream there, the population is a still more spread, more likely to deviate off. What part of respawning to jump thousands of kilometers to get closer to friends wholl potentially have equipment for you, is not a helping hand? -

Indeed! Sewers have occured to me before, but i thought about them as pretty closed conditions in which you would momentarily hide if too many zeds about.. then abandonded the idea. However thats because i live in semi-rural england and the idea of extensive sewers systems didnt occur to me XD Yea i +1 that, I really think that when the map is developed it needs to be as varying as possible. I forgive so much in game due to the knowledge that its an alpha, but the skin of the areas, buildings starts to be a bit of a downer. Id be very frustrated if i started noticing repetative skins/structures-locations shapes, on ze new map. -

Yup i guess it might cause them to do that, but that given some spawn locations that might take a while to accomplish, by which time ye might see/find something which gives you another incentive, (i admit ive used it plenty of times, but there have been times ive been tempted to use it, only to find some activity that has kept me there). as for the reasons, it is really an exploit. your meta-gaming creates bias populations and is essentially a helping hand in a game thats supposed to be ruthless from start to end. -

This isnt chernaus your speaking of is it? If not your thoughts on the size of this map are far exceeding mine. Please let it be so! Pending on how much trains drained on ze server performance, even if one or two could be handled, a network of rails could be placed all over the map. And provides dangerous spots, where the train would have to stop to realign tracks to get to the right location. -

lol train crashes would be epic but i dunno if servers could handle too many. Think there is already a vechicle limit, so tbh there would be a limit to how many would be on a server. If it was two rail lines then one could be on each track. -

Indeed it does, but to be honest i think the process of getting the mine shaft running, extracting coal, and even transporting it to another side of town to power a train would be an lengthy and challenging task. At least it should spawn at a train station in a near by town, at least untill a foolish group which got it running in the first place ran out of coal somewhere along the line. At least then there would be insentive from a group of peeps on the server who dedicated time into getting it running would likely not abandon gettin it moving again. -
