    Two hands

Mango, one of those threads is actually exactly on topic with the one you've started here. Take a look at the links. He's not being an ass, he's pointing out that you're duplicating a thread when you're more likely to get the views you want for suggestions like this by contributing to the existing one.

    Rain water collection

There should be some chance of disease involved with that - after all, you never wash your clothes in the game, and you never know just how long that hoodie has been sitting there, or what's been on/in it... The rainwater collection is a good idea, but it should be realistic - in other words, difficult due to lack of catchment area, and time-consuming. You could hold a bottle in hand and collect rainwater while walking, but not while running. You could leave a bottle in place somewhere, to the same effect, with it taking the same amount of time. And of course, if a bottle has contained contaminated water, it should have a chance of contaminating any water put into it.

2 Things that should be implemented ASAP

I'd actually argue that they are critical, mgc - navigation, getting away from/to towns and other lootable locations would be a critical factor in survivor mortality, particularly in the early stages. The people with the maps are going to have a much easier time surviving than those who do not.

Which vehicles would you want to see in DayZ?

The issue I'm sitting on here is the ease of base discovery an elevated line of sight provides. You'll have flown in the mod - you know just how easy it is to see tents, vehicles, or in the appropriate mods, houses, once you're in the air. Nothing is hidden. Everything becomes obvious once you're overhead, and I don't think there's any kind of camouflage feature that could properly disguise a base or stash when you opposition can see from the sky - and most of the terrain around said stash or base is regular enough to make an inconsistently glaringly obvious, especially with the terrain textures not loading up unless you're less than thirty metres away. Again, I love aircraft... I just don't think they should be in the vanilla game. They'll definitely make it into the modded variants that are inevitably going to come to DayZ - demand will be too high for them not to be. DayZ's sub-version modders are a bit looser on game balance, and so you know what you're going for if you pick up a mod with aircraft. If it's in the original game, though... they're going to have to do something about the ease with which you can find bases. There's no point trying to hide them otherwise. And before anyone says it, rarity of aircraft isn't going to change a thing - it'll just mean one or two groups have all the air vehicles stashed away somewhere you can't find without one, and nobody will see any outside their control after the first few days of server uptime. It happens on every single server. In the event that flight is added, the danger element would be a good balancer, but not enough of one, I think. There would need to be other factors, and that alone makes having the vehicles in the game at all nearly not worth it... after all, shouldn't all vehicles have a possibility of engine failure, due to rust/other maintenance issues that cannot be easily solved without the appropriate equipment?

Really? I thought it was banned in its original form because of the gore... what made the riot zombies so special? Our resident idiots seem to think that the biggest consumers of adult-appropriate content are children, and rate pretty much everything accordingly. There's only so far you can go with censorship before your governing body starts to look like a collection of fuckwits groping about in the dark... ...and of course, we hit that bar and knocked it clean off its perch with this one. That being said, I would say delayed rather than cancelled. Our resident deadshit will be getting kicked out of office early this year if all goes well, and given there was a massive support base for the original plan, whoever replaces him will likely start the optic rollout again as an election sweetener.

True, but horror and comedy are not necessarily mutually exclusive. Especially not comedy in horribly bad taste ;P

Is it too much to ask that that particular crusade remains in the morass of hate/debate threads it belongs to? I mean, yeah, I get you're all passionate about it, but all of you, on both sides, need to get that the rest of the playerbase isn't contributing because they don't care.

Fixed. And you know I'm right ;) I can see cards being the Mountain Dew of DayZ Standalone.

ID + Study body (POLL ADDED. PLEASE VOTE)

They wouldn't. But as a mechanic for identifying other players after death, it could be an interesting addition to the game. The ID shows up the name the player has entered at the title screen, so there's no threats to personal identity/info, etc, etc, yada yada. I know that last wasn't one of your points, but it seemed like the right place to address it in any case. As for them being trophies to bandits and the like... is that a bad thing? Personally, I'd like to see something along the lines of being able to identify a person if they've spoken in direct chat vocally near you and you've previously found and studied their body as a result of ID tagging. It's one of those small things that could make the game that little bit better in a few different ways, though of course there are going to be negatives as well.
  10. Fuck logic and everything even remotely realistic. I'm building a zombie fortress and none of you can stop me. =.=

    interaction with the environment

Definitely on a good train of thought here... I'd like to see something along the lines of 'I smell smoke/stale smoke' when you pass through a building someone's been smoking in, or close to someone who has recently smoked. Fresh fruit and vegetable spawns (and possibly small plantable plots in bases) would be another interesting element to the game, given the devs seem headed toward a food system where you actually need fresh food in order to survive. They may possibly have this planned already, given the presence of rotten fruit in the game.

Yeah, I meant that first part in humour. Didn't read over it before posting, realised it came across rather deadpan XD But yeah. Add clown outfits, medieval armour suits (some protection, but of course most of it is replica gear, so not much, significant movement/turning speed decrease, etc), mascot outfits... the possibilities are endless, and hilarious.

2 Things that should be implemented ASAP

Absolutely not. I'll explain for the others who are pretty much tearing this down without saying why: The difficulty factor added by not being able to navigate properly is part and parcel of the game's challenge. You actually have to get to know the map, learn it the hard way. Yeah, I know - it's annoying as hell to begin with. It's still pretty annoying even when you know the landmarks. But it makes the game interesting, and ensures there's always a chance you'll wind up somewhere you didn't intend to go. The most interesting adventures are the ones that happen off the beaten track. As for your second suggestion... the game strives for realism, or at least authenticity. Teleports are something that should and will stay in Minecraft - it's the sort of game where they're convenient almost to the point of necessity with world size, but in DayZ - especially with vehicles on the way, albeit slowly - it just isn't necessary, nor conductive to an immersive game experience.

You realise how many of us are seeing male avatars prancing around with copper hats/aviators and flouro pink miniskirts upon reaching the 'female apparel' section, right? The image is absolutely horrible, but someone - likely many - will wind up doing it. Good ideas, though. The issue is making that kind of clothing appealling... especially if they don't wind up adding secure bases. Not saying it has no appeal, just that clothing with extra storage slots will always win out with most people.

    Milk and Poison

All good ideas, though I don't get why rat poison in the water would be more appealling to women than men. I think mechanics like that should be implemented... but hidden. The game's more interesting and unique mechanics should be things the playerbase has to work out themselves. The information will spread eventually, sure, but there will also be groups and individuals who don't know some tricks - and that will make things more interesting.

Next time I will kill every girls

DayZ 101: If you come into this game expecting people to be courteous or well-mannered, you're going to have a bad time. Male or otherwise.

Fuck them. Seriously, who cares? The only people who take those ratings - and therefore the laws and prohibitions concerning them - seriously are tightass and paranoid parents who still believe violent games lead to serial assault and homocide. If they ban the game here, most of the current Australian players are just going to order it from elsewhere, find a fix (note: not a workaround, as this is not a law but a problematic issue within our system) and keep playing regardless. Edit: Not attacking you, I do understand your concerns. I just don't think the issue is worth your worry.

Base Building - What would you like to see?

Just this: The mod, which didn't include bases, saw a lot of sub-modding to add in bases (and other elements the game's player base desired), as a means to give those who weren't quite satisfied with the original mod something more tailored to their interests. Should base-building not live up to the expectations of the playerbase, I suspect the same thing will happen in the standalone; as it is, unless the same style of bases are implemented in the vanilla game, I suspect Epoch and Origins' developers will carry their mods over sometime in beta/early open release. So, let us all keep in mind that while the original product may not live up to our expectations, there are parties willing, able and ready to implement the content as we want it somewhere along the line.

    Dayz Events.

Ah, but DayZ had it first ;) Admittedly, in spinoffs, but it did have it first.

    I Want Your Eyes.

Said legos should, as they do in real life, result in a temporary period of extremely slow movement and the illusion of blood loss ('I may die, I am in pain, etc), before the player returns to normal movement. The broken leg icon is replaced with a lego block. Depends, really. How badly do you want to throw poop at other people? Nobody's stopping you from roleplaying a monkey. It's the apocalypse.

What happens in Rust, stays in Rust.

    Lightning strikes

It's a nice idea for immersion, but I don't know how it would go with performance/resource usage... if we do see this, it will probably be after they've optimised the game sufficiently to allow for zombies to be properly implemented.

    Ruined Gear Upon Shooting People

While it's annoying, it is an attempt at 'balancing' the kill on sight mentality (not possible and not necessary, in any case, with how the finished product is likely to wind up) and it is possible to repair most clothing with a sewing kit. Sure, it's effort you won't want to have to put in just for the sake of a new shirt/pants, but if the item has more slots than what you're wearing - and is significantly more rare than common clothing, which I imagine they will be in the future - then it's going to be worth investing the effort to make it usable again.

Dynamic objects separated into a cacheable part of map.

It's an interesting idea. I can see maps being utterly mutilated this way, though... on the upside, it would allow for at least partially destructive scenery, making any explosives that make it into the game even MORE fun. And who doesn't like explosives?
